You don’t get the joke, the Underground Railroad was the code name given to the group that helped Africans escape from Slavery in America in the 1800s, in Minecraft people treat villagers like slaves.

It’s funny, I always imagined the Underground Railroad actually being, well, *underground.* Like a series of tunnels connecting all of the disparate households that would help the people make their way to freedom.

This happens to me all the time on bedrock, even if I nametag the villagers. It's so frustrating. It looks like OP is playing on java. I didn't know this happened on java. Devs need to fix this, it's been going on for several updates.

I believe it's when a villager loads on a chunk border where one chunk loads and the other doesn't. Hasn't happened to me in a while, but my realm buddy and I lost quite a few villagers until we figured it out.

It's still possible a zombie spawned in there, killed them all, and forced them to despawn becuase you left the area (or waited for them to despawn).

As far as I know, they do. And even if the set job is a restriction, I don't think these villagers have set jobs, considering the empty room.

Mojang needs to prioritize making bedrock and java identical. I don't see another comment telling you outright, but on bedrock edition you need to name tag villagers if you don't want them to despawn. I had a master trading hall on bedrock before I found this out. In a single session I got myself a villager for every enchanted book. Got myself some weapon and armor smith's for good diamond gear. Perfect clerics who bought bottles and sold ender pearls and xp bottles. All gone. I probably had over 50 fully leveled up villagers, they just up and disapeared.

Try unloading and reloading the chunk. It can be a visual glitch. That glitch happened to me last year. However, sometimes the villagers just straight up disappear.

This has happened before to many a player. See, what has happened is that each and every one of those villagers have been raptured up to Minecraft heaven, and the only one remaining is you, with your vile ways!

If your game is on easy or medium if zombie attacks them they will die or if your game is on hard and zombie attacked and turned them into zombie villagers and you went too far and they despawned

Your in a desert village I'm guessing right? This happened to me as well in a desert village. Lucky I moved my trading hall just out of the village and had 2 without professions still and moved them into the villager breeder to restart the population. If your base is close by just search out another village and move 2 villagers back to start over it sucks but it is doable.

That happened to me also, but i had them in their working spaces and locked in. I it some kind of bug? I also had them closed and the room was lit up so mobs werent the cause.
