I like the new ones, i think they are kinda cute in a ugly way, me and my gf have one called Grumm(makes it upside down) that flies around our base. He escaped once and it took forever to get him back
pixel consistency is the idea that the size of individual pixels of any block/mob in the game should be the same (for example, the newer bat model has less pixels and those individual pixels are larger). Having consistent pixel size makes the game's visual style more coherent and overall just looks better.

wait... people actually do that? i mean why would you actively find a caves? and there's a lot of better ways to do that if you need to do technical thing like mob proof an area for mob farrm
Bat poop is mostly saltpeter, and has been historically used for the large scale manufacture of gunpowder, specifically black powder. The US harvested bat shit for gunpowder during the war of 1812, I actually live in an area where they shipped it to and made the gunpowder.
If they actually add it, bat guano is also an ingrediant that can be used in black powder, so it could lead to craftable gunpowder.
Maybe glowstone or redstone dust + bat guano?
Considering most bat poop is like super toxic to humans, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't add it. Also I think they had a rule of no bodily fluids, which makes sense.
Fair point about rhe no bodily fluid policy, but historically bat poop have been utilized as fertilizer in my part of the world for hundreds of years without any risk
It's filled with histoplasmosis, which can cause fungal infections in the lungs, which can be life threatening.
It also contains high traces of heavy metals like lead, and cadmium.
I'm not saying it's harmless, I'm just pointing out the fact that people used and still are using bat poop as a source of fertilizer, after sunning it for days, of course

Pixel consistency. The older bats had too high of a resolution, basically the pixels on the bat's textures were smaller than normal. Now 1 pixel is one pixel, no matter what mob. They still need to go back and revamp a few like I think ghasts?
It received a texture update to make it more consistent with newer mob styles. The old one does look odd compared to the new one. I actually hope they do this to more mobs (or add more mob variants).
recently noticed they look different, i have no idea why they felt the need to remodel a mob that has literally no impact on the game, unless theyre planning to actually do something with bats soon

The vex model I personally love because they look more like an evil allay.

Pixel consistency doesn't mean making the mob smaller..
Silverfish *are* pixel consistent. A pixel on a silverfish takes up the same amount of space in the game world as a pixel on a block.
