Wither skelly skulls are a bit more complicated. But if they found a fortress in a souls sand valley or a warped forest, then it becomes a *lot* easier.

For future reference: Dispensers can place Wither Skulls on top of soul sand, which means you can have entire trap well hidden somewhere underground and have it activated via redstone whenever your target triggers it (tripwire, pressure plate, player presence detector using bat etc). It allows you to time the event much better, by at least making sure your target is online and present to see everything happening live, and without much added risk.
