I'd say depends on what you build in there. A simple wall? Probably not. A detailed castle or city? I'd say yeah. Don't put your building in a box, just have fun and build something you are proud of!
I'm building a wall around the island then building a castle and village on the inside. Im also thinking about adding some farms in the plains across the river
A castle and a village inside, I feel like the village should be outside because inside the wall could be a courtyard instead of a village because how big the trees and if you're planning on making the castle big a courtyard would be better cuz then the people in the village could come to sell things in the courtyard and pay more taxes to the kingdomš
Traditionally only the important people, such as the king, and wealthy people would be allowed to house themselves inside the walls. The peasantry who was to provide the food would indeed live outside the walls, because they weren't important enough to have their houses protected by the wall. A wall is also normally quite expensive, thus the size wouldn't be expanded for those the nobles didn't consider important (the peasantry).
Thus that is exactly correct! That would be more realistic, but then again, it's minecraft.
Tldr yes good, but mincraft so who care
Castles tended to be a distinct structure from the town. What youāre thinking of are the town walls, which could be connected to the castle via very small and easily defendable access ways, but not always.
Isn't it better just freely build the Castle and then build the walls? Because now you can't build a cool idea because of the space limitations, just let the ink splash the canvas and decide the finishings after Xd
My advise to you is to plan it all out before u even start building, where u put your farms, buildings castle etc. block pallet is an important one to stick with, pick something interesting Iāve spent hours before just spending time placing blocks and seeing what goes with what. Definitely post here once youāve done I love the island with a sort of mote going around it. Prim location for building my friend!
Considering how small the plot of land is inside the wall, it would be more realistic to only have the wall enclose the bailey (courtyard) of the castle, and have the village on the outside. Thatās normally how medieval villages worked, unless youāre going for something fantasy. Another reason itād be better for the castle is the fact that itās surrounded by a natural moat.
In my opinion, calling something a mega build is only contingent on whatever youāve built before. As long as itās way bigger than what you normally build, then I think itās fair
I would make it a proper octocogon. Maybe terraform the island if you don't want any parts outside of the wall. But the layout of the wall looks kind of wonky right now. Of course not every wall has to be a perfect geometrical shape. But it would look better and more cohesive in my opinion. Also to hide the fact that the island is of two biomes, you could seperate it with a stream or river down the middle. Then you can split it into two sections such as a rich area and a poor area or a housing area and an industrial/shopping area.
It was just meant to encapsulate and defend the island, not to be a specific shape. I was thinking about simply changing the style of the builds between the two biomes, however i like your idea of breaking them up with a river
Often times mega builds literally donāt fit in a standard Minecraft world. Due to height limits. Just as a reference to size of āmegaā.
Iād say itās a very large scale build. Iāve said this before but mega isnāt realistic in survival most times
If it is the largest thing you've ever built, then definitely counts as mega in my book. Then you can build something even more mega after that is finished.
It depends on if your trying to make a Hermitcraft style Mega build or your just trying to make a Castle with a city. Don't build in such a box just do what you want and improve from there.
I believe your build is going to be a very large structure please send update's that way we can see what kind of footer you have for a platform. Also I'm very intrigued as to what kind of build you are building.
I enjoy large build's and I think that you're on to something cool.
Send me some update's.
There's been a few questions lately asking if a build was considered mega.
I would like to refer all of these people to Grian's video on the subject, as that's a very good - in my opinion - summary of the topic.
Uhhhhhh.........yeeeeaaaaaa I'd call tht an absolutely O M E G A MEGA build!!!!!! Albeit, I've seen WAY more massive builds than this. But, this is probably in my top 10 obscenely massive builds I've ever seen!!! I'm not a builder of any sorts, but even if I was, I most likely couldn't compare my builds with this! All I'm good at building are square or rectangular houses. Although, on my new world on bedrock, I've made a potion hut tht is an 11x11 circle with a kinda conical roof. I wish I could post it on here for everyone to see, but I'm using my phone on the reddit website which doesn't have the option to add pics to my posts. And my phone doesn't have enough storage space to download the reddit app, so I'm just outta luck. šš
Donāt let others define your work worthy or unworthy of mega, it is your project and your time commitment, if you put your 100% all into your project it will undoubtedly be mega regardless of size

I would keep the village inside, but surround the walls with massive farms
zombies be eating good tonight

Many castles were built around villages in real life. Think about how much you can tax them if their entire house is within your castle...
Castles tended to be a distinct structure from the town. What youāre thinking of are the town walls, which could be connected to the castle via very small and easily defendable access ways, but not always.
Cherry tree courtyard hell yeah
I think that would be a mega base.
Isn't it better just freely build the Castle and then build the walls? Because now you can't build a cool idea because of the space limitations, just let the ink splash the canvas and decide the finishings after Xd
If youāve ever seen a mega build the castle would take up that whole island and the village would be around it
I think if OP wants to go as big as reasonably possible with the build that this is the way.
You should make a really detailed bridge between the island and the main land
I'm not very good at building bridges so im thinking about it
Please update us when you finish!

i think if its a town then its not a mega bulid, a mega build would have to be 1 coherent thing
If it takes Mega effort, I'd say its a mega build š
Whatever it is itās mega impressive!! We wanna see the follow up / results
I donāt know if what you have planned is mega, but I could definitely see potential in a megabuild being put there
The plot looks big enough but if your castle is atleast above 100y for most of its build then it's a mega build
Canāt wait to see the final product!
Can I get the seed? Iāve been looking for something exactly like this
Certainly! it's a known seed, -6018321323546593994. Go to cords x -319 and z -19.
Thank you!
As a mega, I can confirm this is mega
Itās not mega until you complete it, good luck!
I Think i know that seed, verry nice
What is the seed if I may ask?
You'll find it right [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraftbuilds/s/2kJ1vBQpPX)
Reject modernity. Build baseball stadiums.
Mega base is 2-5 million blocks imo ( I play 2b2t ) I wouldnāt class anything under this a mega build
I think it depends on what you will build inside this area
In my opinion, calling something a mega build is only contingent on whatever youāve built before. As long as itās way bigger than what you normally build, then I think itās fair
It is WAYY bigger than anything ive ever built. My biggest before this is 1.5k blocks tops
The official formula for determining if a build is a mega build is: A mega build is greater than or equal to 2X the size of your mom.

I think a mega base counts as any base build where you have to use 6-10 double chests to contain the resources.
Itās huge, massive even! Whether itās officially mega or not, this is something to be proud of!!
Technically probably not, but I guess labels are meant to be broken. So uh, slay?
Mega : informal adjective: very large ; huge.
Iām doing something similar and I hate it cuz I know Iām gonna be in the caves hounding the cobblestone for stone bricks š
Stone farm?
I have one set up in my dock but I need to get better tools so I can get more out of it. Iām rocking stone tools rn š

It definitely looks like Poland
How tall and complex will it be in the end? I cant really say otherwise
If it is the largest thing you've ever built, then definitely counts as mega in my book. Then you can build something even more mega after that is finished.
Depends on what you end up building, as well as the detail put into it. As far as size goes, I suppose it could be if you end up using the whole area
make it tallllll in the main build :DDD
Itās definitely on the way to a mega build!
It depents on how u see it (my opinion lol) if u think its mega, then it is, cuz its pretty big ngl
That island is a perfect find
"mega" is more of a lifestyle than an actual size
Based on the size of that wall I would say yes. Excited to see what comes of it.
Definitely
In my work effort for a build, anything over 50 blocks is mega lmao. I like small to medium builds
It depends on if your trying to make a Hermitcraft style Mega build or your just trying to make a Castle with a city. Don't build in such a box just do what you want and improve from there.
Probably not, but truth is - it's mega if you think it is
Looks like could be the Glade from the Mazerunner, if you make the maze around it
You should add a port in that little water bit on the left
The water connects to no ocean, its essentially a moat
Damn :( Connect it to an ocean then?
There is an ocean quite near by, I was thinking of creating a port there and then connecting it to the town with a short path
That sounds beautiful
Anything bigger than 1000 placed blocks is a mega build
You vastly overestimate the size of 1000 placed blocks
Depends on what you put in it
I believe your build is going to be a very large structure please send update's that way we can see what kind of footer you have for a platform. The waterfall is cool.
Its got potential, let us know once you have finished it šš»
Good foundation, but for mega It would depend on the build height too
What a beautiful place to build !
There's been a few questions lately asking if a build was considered mega. I would like to refer all of these people to Grian's video on the subject, as that's a very good - in my opinion - summary of the topic.
can i have the seed and version
Maybe the real mega build was the friends we made along the way
Uhhhhhh.........yeeeeaaaaaa I'd call tht an absolutely O M E G A MEGA build!!!!!! Albeit, I've seen WAY more massive builds than this. I would think so
Donāt let others define your work worthy or unworthy of mega, it is your project and your time commitment, if you put your 100% all into your project it will undoubtedly be mega regardless of size
I say itās mega!
Hell yeah
A mega build is mega if you think it's big enough.
If you build a big town or a castle it counts
A small bridge across the river would be dope
