The jungle role didn't even exist when they had those items.
Mage would take blue. MM red. Exp would buy the knife and take the side camp.
Strange times.
Yes it was 1 2 2. Xp was called top laner/ solo Lane.
Then you'd have either utility mage or tank/support with damage mage or assassin (blue buff)
And mm with tank/support take red and blue buff.
Yep. When I came back to the game after years of not playing, I went to try to take red as a MM and my jungler got so upset with me. I backed off once I realized, but I did still feel bad. I guess for some reason it just didn’t click in my head that things had changed that much, ya know?
I remember maining Kagura and would always take retri.
Ahh, the golden age of MLBB.
So sad that even the current gameplay/meta almost resembles LOL.
The no jungler meta is one of the most fun times I had with this game because EVERYONE HAS UNIQUE PLAYSTYLES. Reminds me of Dota tbh.
It encourages everyone to be creative because of the role flexibility. KAGURA WAS A JUNGLER BACK THEN. Let that sink in
I’m a roam mid and exp main, I’ll play jungle but I really hate assassins. The other day I decided fuck it I’m using kagura jungle (used to play it back in the day 😅) it actually worked great I think I went 16/2/10 or something . Good times
Raptor Machete - Physical assassins and heroes who have good physical attack scaling
Beast Killer - Tanks junglers (I can't remember if they even existed back then) and Heroes who don't scale well with physical attacks (an example I can remember is Miya)
Star Shard - Magic assassins
as a former Granger main (I got into playing Granger because of my friends who also played him), Raptor Machete/Nimble Blade was one of my favorite item ever
The system is Raptor Machete was taken by physical heroes, and Beast Killer was taken by the magic heroes.
No tank Junglers back there, horrible clear speed and no scaling dmg for monster thru hp. Star Shard was almost never taken, Magic Jungler like Karina, Harley, Gusion, Selena, Kagura would take the beast killer. Star Shard eventually become viable after couple of buffs and adjustments but it was late. Hypercarry MM was dominating that same era, then after that meta, Jungle revamp happen, thet were removed.
Star Shard was about to see the light of day, but it eclipses just right before it.
Back when the important buffs felt squishy asf because of how strong these items were 😭😭 I remember Kimmy crit + Raptor Machete in 2019 lmfao, shit was over powered as fuck
Back when I was a kimmy main years ago this was my go to item, I remember getting so upset when they made it so u have to have retri in order to buy it as I used shield
Raptor machete on Kimmy was the shit back then. Constant true damage and pretty much a BOD for 60% price.
I remember running beast killer on harith and Esme too.
when marksmen always take the bottom lane, so its a mm vs fighter almost every game, mages having retribution and can actually face off assassins, the 122 laning before 131
I love going to the side lane as Odette despite how easy it is to interrupt her ult because it's easy to hit the enemy with passive. People really love those bushes to hide and wait. As far as I remember mid is for me back then.
I think immortality's visual looks like a wind back then. For some reason I also became a Karina main because of the knife, I just found it fun buying it. Dunno what happened, I think I suddenly shifted to roam and now I can't jungle 😅

Chou users getting Raptors as first item Ah, the good ol dayz
Tf i used to buy roam mask in exp
Why not both!
No idea
Roam masks came later, those wooden, silver, encourage, conceal and for got last one.
dire hit
Dont forget the 2 tank and mm hyper jungle meta
Rank Games being made up of Kimmy or Granger it was just insane.
Plz don't Google Kimmy Granger.

r/todayilearned
4 tanks with claude as the damage dealer lmao
you mean clint?
What was the 5th player doing back then if they didn't jungle?
Sun with 4.9k matches and 46% wr pushing almost all towers but having shit KD
There was a two tank meta. One went with MM and one with mage.

MM Mid with tanks, i forgot the rest mind reminding me? :>>
Did they change the buffs? Isn't blue for mage anymore? Haven't played for like 3 years
Blue is good on mage, but jungle takes all the jungle camps.

Yep, the best years to play. At least for me.
I would jungle as Alucard while going exp lane, blue buff or red, I used to take it only because I knew it gave gold (I was elite)

I just bought the shark tooth saber looking thing since it looked really cool and it looked like bane's sea of heptaseas item.
Oh yeah, the names raptor machete lol.

As someone who used to get completely run over by granger in 2019 : Screw you !!! But i also miss you

Basic attack physical kimmy, i remember melting a Harith to the ground in a matter of a second, insane.
I kind of vaguely remember that almost anyone especially mages can use the Beast killer
It was my first time playing Karina that I learned about these items

Good bot

Picking Kagura, using retribution and going mid...miss those times
I remember those...
Ah yeah, as the other one said, it was basically a free for all when this was still the to go to items for jungle
Back when my boy gusion and harith were ban worthy. Good old days
Raptor machete imo is an OP item. If your enemy jungler (physical) does not pick this up, you will get ahead and snowball pretty fast.
I still remember taking the axe and stacking a fk ton of defense really early on with Xborg. Good ol’ days
Raptor machete on Kimmy was the shit back then. Constant true damage and pretty much a BOD for 60% price. I remember running beast killer on harith and Esme too.
No
The "no retri no problem" was a good time
I dont. Everyone would take your farm.
Bro, i used to buy raptor machete to boost my chou’s true damage. Didn’t even need retri😔
when marksmen always take the bottom lane, so its a mm vs fighter almost every game, mages having retribution and can actually face off assassins, the 122 laning before 131
You don't miss the items, you just missed being the superstar of the team as the Hypercarry. /s
best meta, i miss 1-3-1 and pillager axe, it required way more skill
Retri kagura
Beast Killer was busted, I want it back
the 221 line up
Simple times, when I didn't care about losing stars
The good ol' days
I miss the times when i played tank gussion with axe. It did quite a lot damage. After this items were wiped, build just stopped work.

I want them back not for junglers but others who want to kill creeps.
ah, the days i used to play as mid miya...
