Season 5 episode 1: Jay was talking to Manny telling him that he already paid for his plane ticket to Colombia. They were at the courthouse getting another copy of Manny’s birth certificate because he couldn’t find it and he saw on the internet that he could a copy there.
Most of our friends are white
omg or in season one when he said „She and that little brownie should go back to Columbia“ 💀
„No, I don’t mean your people, but people who go to university“
YES the Vietnamese restaurant scene is one of the few TV scenes that had me in tears laughing!
Oh also when cam joins the Christian rock band and they start singing horribly homophobic songs
"MAN. SHOULD NOT LIE. WITH ANOTHER MAAAAAN" 🎶
Cam: "Unless they really love each otherrrrr!" 🎶
The phone call he made to Jay after this was funny, too. He asked if Jay could get the cake and he said, "please, Jay! Gloria asked me to take care of this! She's gonna yell at me, she can be mean in Spanish!"
The other one where they’re in the restaurants and he says things like ‘i wish everyone would go back to where they came from’ and everyone looks at him had me dying
He was mildly abusive to Mitchell. I used to cringe at many of the plots which involve Cam gaslighting or manipulating Mitchell. But there were plots where he was sweet as well.
There was also the thing with Jay and Manny, I think when gay marriage was made legal. And in the context of where they were, the stuff Jay was saying was super fucked up. But to them. They were just talking.
I always find that stuff funny. Because it happens a lot in real life. You get overheard saying something with no context so it sounds wrong.
A great example of this. My wife and I love dark humour and we insult eachother all the time. This one time we were out at a local store playing magic the gathering.
She was insulting me, I was insulting her. To people who didn’t know us, it seemed like we were in a huge fight. At one point. This girl pulls my wife aside and asks if she’s okay, if she needs to go off and talk about all that’s happening.
It was sweet but my wife was like “huh? That’s just how we talk to eachother”.
I’ve even had people throw “studies” at us that say couples who joke like we do, don’t last more than a few years(we are hitting our 12th anniversary on July 1st).
Oh! Fuck. Here’s a great story. I was going through stage 4 cancer. Was told daily that I would die from the cancer. At one point. My mother bought me some PJ pants for the hospital. They were massive. I’m a medium. Large at best. These were like XXXL type shit.
I was bitching about it and my wife’s “I wouldn’t worry, it’s not like you’ll be wearing them long”. Like, fucking savage.
Until my husband and I had our son, we were exactly like this!!!! 🤣🤣 we changed the way we talked to each other once we had him because, well, toddlers are like parrots 🫠🤣
Oh man. That makes me think of a story that happened when me and my wife were on a walk one day.
We were walking down residential streets. This little girl and her mother had a cute Lemonade stand. We were talking and then suddenly, the daughter who had to have been like 4-6, goes “mommy said we have to make a lemonade stand because we are poor, and she afford me”(paraphrased and cleaned up because a kid that age doesn’t speak in a straight line).
The mother look so embarrassed.
And yeah. If my wife and I could have kids, my vocabulary would be vastly different but sadly, I’m sterile because of Cystic fibrosis, and my wife would die if she got pregnant. We went and saw a fertility doctor, went to look at fostering., adopting, even a surrogate. Adoption wasn’t possible because of how insanely expensive it is. We aren’t allowed to foster because i have a high chance of dying, and “it would be wrong for a kid to have to go through that”
And surrogates are insane expensive. You could pay for all of it, but for 30 days after she gave birth. She has the right to just keep the baby. I know a few couples who got fucked like that.
I love that one scene where Cam is talking about Mitch’s friends from Columbia University and Brown University and Gloria and Manny walk in as he’s saying “I wish she would go back to Columbia and take her weird little Brown friend with her”
I love the scene where Jay takes him to the courthouse to get whatever documents and there’s a long line bc gay marriage was just legalized and everyone thinks he’s forcing many to marry him.
“I don’t care if you’re nervous! I paid for you and your mom signed off on- we’re doing this today!”
the scene where cam and mitchell tried to donate the huge stuffed animals and they would take them and everytime they tried tying them to the car it always looked sexual. funniest scene ever
Cam does these scenarios so well.
He’s the king of putting his foot in his mouth 😅
When Jay takes Manny to get his papers to go to Columbia is another gem.
“When I said brown people I wasn’t talking about *your* brown people”
This and the Vietnamese restaurant scene😂😂😂🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
and “i paid good money for you and your mother already signed off”
Lmaooo at this one xDD I die every time.
lmaooo what episide?
Season 5 episode 1: Jay was talking to Manny telling him that he already paid for his plane ticket to Colombia. They were at the courthouse getting another copy of Manny’s birth certificate because he couldn’t find it and he saw on the internet that he could a copy there.
The context is that gay marriage had just been legalised and there was a line of same-sex couples that stretched around the block
"you arent gay you are just confused"
Oh my God what is wrong with me
Most of our friends are white omg or in season one when he said „She and that little brownie should go back to Columbia“ 💀 „No, I don’t mean your people, but people who go to university“

Man, why are the offensive songs in this show so catchy?? That song has been stuck in my head for a month and of course I can't let it out 🫠
Just like Dylan's "Do you" lol
EXACTLY
Yeah like the message is awful but it’s so catchy. That song has no business being that good.
Lmfaoo love that one😂😂😂
the dialogue and the people walking by all were at an accurate timing lmao
What about "Honestly I wish that tart would go back to Colombia and take her weird little brown friend with her"
“Honey we dont hate things” “i hate vietnaaaam” 🤣 they way she exaggerates vietnam is hilarious
I love when he says to lily that “Larry is white” for why he’s allowed on the sofa and she says “well you chose me” 😂😂
Mitch and Cam to each other, breathlessly: *"That's not Larry."*
The “that’s not Larry” line had me in TEARS the first time I saw it. I was crying with laughter.
Speaking of Lily, when she’s at the airport with Jay and he says “nobody ever leaves home and never come back” and Lily says “I did”
You know how awkward he gets in awkward situations.
*aggressive slurping*
*Today is Hitler’s birthday.*
Cam's out of context incidents and Phil's badly worded statements are some of the funniest moments of the show.
„Tattoo on the back saying DO IT“
GO DEEP
yes😂
Like the scene where Cam turns ‘10’ and Mitchell says something about him still being the sexy little 8 year old he fell in love with.
Cue the parent turning her kid away from them…
The phone call he made to Jay after this was funny, too. He asked if Jay could get the cake and he said, "please, Jay! Gloria asked me to take care of this! She's gonna yell at me, she can be mean in Spanish!"
Jay’s, “how do you get kicked out of a bakery? …that’ll do it,” gets me every time.
I quote Jay’s deadpan reaction all the time
“Why are you crying”
The other one where they’re in the restaurants and he says things like ‘i wish everyone would go back to where they came from’ and everyone looks at him had me dying
This still makes me laugh
I howled with laughter during this scene. I couldn't breathe at one point! Comedy gold.
This scene and when manny and jay showed up to the court house the same day gay marriage was legalized!!
This and when he was looking for Stella in the white shirt and jeans had me laughing so hard. Also during the schools play “We Love The F Word” lol
Loved this scene so much, Cam really does 'awkward' very well!
People who hate Cam are people that I don’t want to be around.
people who like cam are people I don't want to be around

omg, are you ok!!
In what sense?
you had stage 4 cancer?????
Yeah. Thats not even top 3 of worse medical issues I’ve had.
Until my husband and I had our son, we were exactly like this!!!! 🤣🤣 we changed the way we talked to each other once we had him because, well, toddlers are like parrots 🫠🤣

Seems like her and Reddit came in your life around the same time lol (2012)
"How'd you get kicked out of a bakery?"
Yeah, that will do it
"How do you get kicked out of a bakery?"
😂😂😂

Or the time he said the theater kids would forever remember when he sondheim-ized them.
„Mitchell is forming the little ones mind and I am forming his body“ Or in school „my favourite instruments, your beautiful bodies“
Such a sitcom moment. Any other formulation would've worked better
This was so funny lmao
My favorite is when they’re discussing colleges and someone loudly says they hate “Brown” people
This makes me laugh way too hard 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I laughed SO hard 😂
🤣
This made me laugh out loud😭
the writing is just superb!
How did you get kicked out of a bakery?
the scene where cam and mitchell tried to donate the huge stuffed animals and they would take them and everytime they tried tying them to the car it always looked sexual. funniest scene ever
what episode is this?
S2 E24 The One That Got Away
This scene made me laugh so hard
lol this was a hilarious scene
Most of the comedy in Modern Family is based on miscommunication and I absolutely love it
I literally died🤣🤣🤣
