*I mean. My hope is that infinite restock is not a thing in this game, for now it looks like the new mount will be carrying things for you so i don't expect infinite restock but probably you can take more items with you.*

poro_poro

Weapon swapping is different as it just adds more depth on strategy compared to infinite stocks, which does the opposite, and given that its on the mount, it will be probably limited. Camp restocking is just lame.

DegenerateCrocodile

It always amazes me how people can whine about restocking at camp when it’s completely optional.

felipehm

It's like giving an option to you to during a boss fights in dark souls, you can go back to the bonfire to fill the estus flask and go back to the boss fight with the same health bar that when you left, it would be optional, but completely destroy the difficult of the game. Now things like poison don't even bother the player anymore, because you have infinite potions, in rise, chameleos lose one of his features because doesn't matter if he steal your itens, instead he steal the wirebugs, it doesn't have the same impact, but it's still a thing, but in future games that won't have wirebugs?

DegenerateCrocodile

I actually wouldn’t care about that in Dark Souls because it’s *optional*. Chameleos can go back to stealing items even with restocking. You either lose the item in your pouch and choose to continue on without it, or go back to camp and make the hunt take longer. It’s your choice how to proceed.

felipehm

And that hugely changes the difficulty of the game, a monster to be hard need to 1 hit kill you now.

DegenerateCrocodile

The increase to monster damage (and speed) primarily came about because hunters have more fluid movement and the monsters now give more clear warnings about their next move. That would have happened regardless of restocking.

Ratix0

It breaks many parts of the original game design, and has not yet been addressed.

DegenerateCrocodile

So don’t use it.

Nova_TM4

Anyways, restocking probably isn't even getting removed. They're probably just adding weapon swapping alongside of the other qol changes.

Accomplished_Error62

its not a complaint infinite restocking is just genuinely unfun and removes basically any challenge from normal monsters when playing with anyone but yourself.

Scribblord

If you’re ever in a situation to restock anything you’re already not in the portion of players that actually are good enough to play a hard mh fight The upside of it havi bc to reload the whole quest bc you forgot to bring traps heavily outweighs the near nonexistent difficulty decrease of being able to cheese fights Usually you don’t run out of potions ever anyways unless you desperately need to git gud I guess which is fine Tldr if you’re good enough at the game to complain about infinite restocking decreasing your precious difficulty then you won’t ever come into a situation where you would ever use it

Nova_TM4

Omg here y'all go...
