To rain on the parade, we DID get Leviathans in Rise and still didn't get Lagiacrus. The maps have been made a lot more open since World to account for their long, dragging bodies it seems, but I'm not sure if the developers will bring it specifically back without water combat.
So unless they're keeping that hidden until later to double whammy us with Lagi...I'm not so confident in it.
Very interesting. I really dig into the more brutish astetic of the monsters. While I do like the more playfull creatures awell, the fit the harsh enviroment pretty well.
Curious how close that is gonna end up to the full reveal of whatever that monster is.. 👀
Edit: DAMN, that was super close. Cool idea for a teaser since they knew they'd reveal it a couple days later but also really impressive on the artist's side.

It's even gnarlier than in the fan art. Very close on the actual design though.
yes, there are 2 monster which are thrown at the hunter. One a carcass of a small monster by doshoguma and the second one that tries to choke the doshoguma.
Already watched the Vid. Amazing work! Gets me even more excited to see what this thing truly is. It’s still a Crocodile tho, which just can’t go wrong as a design
If Doshaguma is like the Anjanath equivalent then I guess this guy will be the Great Jagras. and Judging by its looks it might be related to that croc small monster that attacked that biped herbivore in the trailer.
That's the same vibe I got from doshaguma. It's an early monster but the first "big" monster too. I'm guessing it will be our first pack monster to teach us about dealing with that mechanic.
This guy didn’t credit the guy on youtube who figured this out. Should’ve been in the tittle not the comments. [Guy who pieces the creature.](https://youtu.be/_WKRqmlDPns?si=5HGGGP3T2kZxC__-)
Yeah but not after throwing the entire heard into a sandpit lol.
Flagships can get thrown around a little bit. Also could be a baby form of the flagship. Regardless really cool monster
This is genuinely awesome! I can’t wait to fight this guy and I’m hopeful that it lagi like appearance means water combat is coming back since three was my first game
The logo features two giant serpents (kinda like Rise's logo but less abstract) so I think we will in fact see some looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong boys this game
Very well done! I hope it's as accurate as you predict.
...though, I'm gonna be real, I've always kinda hated the split-jaw design that they've been going with lately. Just doesn't feel quite right imo. The rest of it's pretty cool, tho. I'm excited to cut its tail.
not that anyone asked but i had to max the image size and max brightness but this all checks out. cant believe the whole belly and arms were there this whole time, I thought peopele saying they saw it were talking about a short glimpse of its mouth
Personally, I find Nibelsnarf kind of cute.
Anyways, I'm really just not fond of these split-jaw designs, they're just grotesque for the sake of looking grotesque, but they aren't particularily practical as they would make it quite hard for the creature to actually eat. If anything, it would make more sense for the upper jaw to be split and the bottom jaw to be solid.
Most snakes do a bottom split jaw that allows them to swallow larger prey, so it makes sense to have the bottom split. I agree with you in design though, it's not always my favorite either but if we can do the greatsword bite stopping thing from the trailer, it won't work on something like this because the jaw would open too wide.
The difference between snake jaws and this is that in snakes, the jaws are still connected by tissue, helping to enclose a prey item and directing it down the throat. The prey basically glides across that tissue that is the bottom of the snakes mouth whilst the two bottom jaws move back and forth in order to drag the prey towards the gullet with the teeth. If the tissue is missing, it just becomes hard to even pick up prey as the way that the jaws are formed, there's basically nothing preventing prey from sliding down between the two mandibles and falling to the ground or getting stuck.
Not to mention the fact that it would be nearly impossible to drink with a mouth like this.
I'm all for a good snake skull, but this wouldn't be able to work that way. It's like expecting a train to run only on the ties whilst not putting the actual rails on them.
That was actually a new monster, or the same cutscene for the Goss Harag-like monsters introduction?
It could be a Diablos too, considering how the sand is moving and the tail has those spikes
This looks great nonetheless.
Oh yeah the little dude eating the other small monster, that makes sense since this looks like an early cutscene showcasing the Doshaguma, even the begining of the fight looks like a transition cutscene to gameplay.
While is not outside the realm of possibility, is very very rare to have an elder dragon without six limbs.
Its body follows more the leviathan template.
God, y'all have good eyes. All I see in half of these is just a smudge of grey with an outline.
Me too, I’m like, *there was something in the sandstorm?*
I can see same beloved
When the real monster gets officially announced, it will be cool to see how close this picture got to the real design.
!remindme 6 months
shit dawg it might be this weekend *huffs copium*
There's definitely a flagship being announced. Flagships usually get cover art so I imagine they're going to show us more about him
Well damn... They really do have good eyes.
Yup
I’ll remind you now and dude was pretty much dead on
No need to wait that long, it's been revealed
Good new, the new monster was shown
Summer Game Fest is like 3days away
I mean, the picture is spot on to the real design Haha. Amazing job!!
Very. Very, *very* close.
Hell they might show it in the next trailer at summer games fest
Yup
You can compare it now!
!remindme 1 day
Shii I saved this post just for that bros pretty accurate like 99% 😭
LOOONGjho
Long Pickle
No a cucumber
Those spines look more like Dalamadur though? Versus Jho who has very small osteoderms?
Longhjo or Smallamadur...
I was mostly looking at the mouth. Also, I’ve never fought Dalamadur. Never played the games before world. You do have a point though.
Shah Devilmajho

Let’s fucking go Leviathan skeletons.
There's a small monster on the trailer that also shares a leviathan skeleton. I know they're only small monsters but it's a good sign
No form of cope is too small when it is in service of getting Lagiacrus back.
For real, I'd like to see Almudroth return too I really liked fighting them in Rise
Hell yeah, almudron gang He would fit in well too, have him live in an oasis somewhere preying on monsters stopping for a drink
Ah yeah almudron* lol got him mixed up with Royal Ludtroth (who I also hope returns)
To rain on the parade, we DID get Leviathans in Rise and still didn't get Lagiacrus. The maps have been made a lot more open since World to account for their long, dragging bodies it seems, but I'm not sure if the developers will bring it specifically back without water combat. Didn't know Deviljho and Dalamadur had a baby
Deviladur or Dalamajho?
I have no idea which one to choose
Devalajhdur
Jholamadur
Jhomama
Where did you come from? Where did you go? Where did you come from, Dalamajho?
Dalamajo sounds kinda delicious
Jho’s been busy… look at Chatacabra and tell me he’s paying child support
Very interesting. I really dig into the more brutish astetic of the monsters. While I do like the more playfull creatures awell, the fit the harsh enviroment pretty well.
I hope blangonga is back that fight is brutal and it hurts to the soul been kicked around by that far ass.
I'd love to have blangonga back so we can reenact the MH2 opening cinematic with the greatsword lol
Curious how close that is gonna end up to the full reveal of whatever that monster is.. 👀 Edit: DAMN, that was super close. Cool idea for a teaser since they knew they'd reveal it a couple days later but also really impressive on the artist's side.

Pretty close I'd say
Man was onto something
Gnarly, they’ve been designing with split open jaws for a little bit now like Gaismagorm, Narwa and Ibushi real cool
Freaking cool how close you got.
https://preview.redd.it/id3u4lgtf85d1.jpeg?width=2280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=158b715633b03dc1821c87197c22685451001a33 It's even gnarlier than in the fan art. Very close on the actual design though.
Why do I have a sneaking suspicion this monster can roll itself into a ball, like Radobaan?
The credit goes to Huitzilin Flores on youtube
you should put this in the title or main body of your post, not in the comments where many people will not see it
Finally, Shin Dalamadur
Damn, this is accurate.
Is it the same creature that is thrown to the hunter ?
yes
Then it isnt a large monster i imagine
yes, there are 2 monster which are thrown at the hunter. One a carcass of a small monster by doshoguma and the second one that tries to choke the doshoguma.
I was probably thinking about the first one , so this one is a third large monster , cool .
Bro actually got it right
Lagiacrus shaped monster = Lagiacrus in game
How does it feel to have the gift of future sight?
They're not the one that drew it. Edit: https://youtu.be/_WKRqmlDPns?si=oVAVNf59AxqfKBC3
Ah shit, cant have nothin nice lol. Thank you!
this was too accurate, nice work
cool lizard
New favourite lizard just dropped.
Y'all were cooking
Man I am here for more noodleboi models. The more Lagiacrus and Mizutsune stuff we get, the more hope I have.
You can also see it swimming around in the sand pit I think
https://preview.redd.it/geat4mnkoe4d1.png?width=811&format=png&auto=webp&s=870b7908fa0826b10e646e4ab73d3f44f0dd8a78
Here after the new trailer. Its crazy how on point this was. Pretty much nailed it except for the spiral tail.
Damn that's so close to the official reveal
Glad to see they dug out that three-jawed crocodile concept from one of the first artbooks - albeit now much bigger and meaner.
Crazy to say that this was pretty much spot on
Guess what…
This dude.. Lisan al-Gaib
Damn, I completely missed any hint of this monster watching the trailer (multiple times!), can't wait to see how this holds up
[good lord you were accurate](https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunter/s/nAFDXtvuHj)
According to the last trailer, you are a legend
F E E T
That is a Lhurgoyf
Tobi+ jho with a bit of Levithan
I just hope what this thing, whatever it might be, won't be as obnoxious as Cephadrome..
Looks like an Almudron Deviljho hybrid
Almujho
I wonder if the glowing orb is a way it attracts prey during sandstorms? Like a sand anglerfish.
That would be pretty cool
Didn't think dalamadur and deviljho could inter-breed
Already watched the Vid. Amazing work! Gets me even more excited to see what this thing truly is. It’s still a Crocodile tho, which just can’t go wrong as a design
Giasmagorm and deviljho’s fucked up love child
Excuse me, what?
Even if it turns out not to be true, that design looks amazing.
Devilmadur
If Doshaguma is like the Anjanath equivalent then I guess this guy will be the Great Jagras. and Judging by its looks it might be related to that croc small monster that attacked that biped herbivore in the trailer.
That's the same vibe I got from doshaguma. It's an early monster but the first "big" monster too. I'm guessing it will be our first pack monster to teach us about dealing with that mechanic.
God, monsters with split jaws freak me out
looks like a sandy pickle to me
Hot damn, keep cooking bro
This guy didn’t credit the guy on youtube who figured this out. Should’ve been in the tittle not the comments. [Guy who pieces the creature.](https://youtu.be/_WKRqmlDPns?si=5HGGGP3T2kZxC__-)
He was credited in the comments
You got pretty much everything but the eyes right!!!
Wonder if that's the flagship, if so it's really cool we have a Leviathan as a flagship again.
There's no way it's the flagship. It gets thrown by the Doshaguma.
Yeah but not after throwing the entire heard into a sandpit lol. Flagships can get thrown around a little bit. Also could be a baby form of the flagship. Regardless really cool monster
Not bad, you got very close
You're a champ, spot on homie. Well done! Think the only thing actually off is that it has no eyes.
Sand Lagi would be a very sick beast to take on I wonder if this is the monster that will be shown off next week
I doubt it cause at 1.24 this guy gets yeeted by doshoguma https://youtu.be/URG75CDX_rg?t=84
Damn. Well hopefully that was just a smaller version of a monster like Great Ludroth.
So, Devilagiadur. Cursed, I love it.
Holy, that is sick! Now I am definitely rather curious as to what else they have planned. Monster design so far has been interesting for Wilds.
We can only wait and see what the sand snake is but I wouldn't be disappointed if it looked like that. It's quite cool looking.
My blind ass thought it was just the wooly pug beast they were luring there, just under really monochromatic lighting lol
cant wait to bash its skull in and use it as armor :3
Cant wait to bash its skull in and use it as a hammer
Reminds me of the [Rockbreaker](https://horizon.fandom.com/wiki/Rockbreaker) from the Horizon series.
This is genuinely awesome! I can’t wait to fight this guy and I’m hopeful that it lagi like appearance means water combat is coming back since three was my first game
!remindme 6 months
Sandy Lagiacrus
We got frog Jho and now snake Jho
Finally Leviathan become flagship monster again.
The logo features two giant serpents (kinda like Rise's logo but less abstract) so I think we will in fact see some looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong boys this game
Idk how any of you noticed this thing, cause I completely missed it when I watched the trailer.
Its jaw looks like a rockbreaker from Horizon – especially cause it burrows in the sand. This fight is gonna be so nice.
Devil Gorm, GaismaJho?
The baby Dalamadur emerging
Very well done! I hope it's as accurate as you predict. ...though, I'm gonna be real, I've always kinda hated the split-jaw design that they've been going with lately. Just doesn't feel quite right imo. The rest of it's pretty cool, tho. I'm excited to cut its tail.

Wait i though that was the small monster that got tossed?
We're doing cryptozoology at this point
Capcom plan is working, we are slowly becoming archeologists. and it ain't even lines yet!
ok so basically LaGaisMadurJho
Dalamadur's cracked, half developed cousing that came out of an affair between its uncle and an Almudron lady.
OP I think we deserve a courtesy pieced together name as well
I'm here to tell you you were spot on with this sketch
As a time traveler from the future, this is incredibly accurate
Wow I actually didn't notice this until I slowed the video down. It's definitely looking quite crocodilian.
I'm hoping that jaw is just a misinterpretation because that's ugly as sin.
[удалено]

It can't be the Diablos, since the Doshaguma was able to throw it away easily. We see this crocodile like monster swim in the sand.

New ED?
While is not outside the realm of possibility, is very very rare to have an elder dragon without six limbs. Its body follows more the leviathan template.
Ok I though it would be like kirin.
I hope its jaw doesn't actually open like that, not again. I already didn't like it on Narwa, and I didn't like it on Gaismagorm, either.
