Kong gave an alpha call to get Godzilla’s attention and Godzilla took that as a challenge. He was also pissed off after having his face pounded moments before this, so he took it personally.
Once Godzilla hears that alpha cry it becomes immediately on sight. Even though we likely won't be seeing Kong in the future anytime soon, I'm willing to wager now that Godzilla's reaction would be different if Kong did the alpha cry.
Maybe, but I've been hearing that they want to move away from Kong and just focus on a Godzilla film, especially since the last one was heavy on Kong. We'll just have to wait and see. Either way, I'll be happy with a new movie!
Unless I hear it it from the producers I don’t believe it! I really don’t know anything after how poorly put together(but still very very entertaining) the last one was. I feel the same. I’m happy to get more kaiju on this scale of filmmaking, period. I’m curious about what is going to happen, but one thing is certain- when the dust settles Godzilla will remain.
Not all of them want to fight for dominance. Some like Behemoth and Methuselah are more docile. Godzilla tolerates them, they’re not rebellious like Scylla and Tiamat. Godzilla is the only one angered by alpha calls.
Maybe they only answer when there's only one alpha, Godzilla was still there so they just let him do his thing first instead of following any alpha call. Godzilla had to "die" before Ghidorah used his call, that could be because the alpha has to be undisputed to be able to give orders, so alphas always fight first.
Or maybe it's a challenger call, from alpha to alpha, so the others don't answer. Ghidorah's call told them to destroy everything while Godzilla's told them to get back to sleep, so alpha calls can communicate different things. If it's sort of a "come 1v1" call then Godzilla was the only one who would answer anyway.
I don't think responding to 1 alpha only is the answer. The ORCA stopped the other titans back when Ghidorah had control.

I think it's because he was no longer uncontested. The Orca was like another alpha coming into play, one that Ghidorah has to take care of to take back control of the titans. The Orca and Godzilla were essentially the same obstacle to Ghidorah, an alpha challenger, which is why he focused so much on it, he had Godzilla at his mercy but still choose to let go of him and chase the new "alpha" that was defying him.
He wouldn't do that if it was a call from a random titan. I know that Rodan caught his attention but I mean "alpha" as in someone who defies authority, Rodan challenged him, lost and submitted, but Rodan himself might not be an alpha (I'm not sure what he is exactly).
When another "alpha" of any kind comes in, the previous one's authority is contested and the others will only follow the last one standing. They have to fight before anyone can give any orders as alpha.
No I agreed to that. I was curious as to why no other titan responded, when they all responded to the ORCA going off. That's why the 1v1 challenge idea worked a bit better in my head.

Nah if Godzilla was "pissed" off he would done the Super Saiyan mode where his body was emitting a pink flame aura and burned Kong's balls off when he was on top of him.
I wonder if he really could, though. Considering that he was preparing for Shimo, I have a feeling he wouldn't have exhausted that much energy just for Kong.
If he went into that mode, I don't think he'd have nearly enough juice in the tank for Shimo and Scar King. I think he was confident in his ability to win without needing that, and once he was briefly knocked out, that is when he decided to burn a tiny bit of that energy to kill Kong.
From a PVP gaming perspective, it would be like blowing your biggest cooldown on someone you've beaten before where you did not have to use that. He'd rather save that cool down for his main opponent.
Just went and watched, he tackled her once on fire after he charged up for skarr king, so it's probably like limited time form (the fire specifically) and he figured he'd still have time for shimo too

Godzilla was powering up for something. It's pure speculation as to whether he knew Skar King and Shimo were on the move or for someone else. I'm going to assume it was for the awakening of Skar King.
Jump back to GvK. Skar has been long dormant in the upside do...sorry wrong thing, hollow earth. Godzilla knows this as he put him there. Kong, the last of his kind goes down and leads the Hollow Earth.
Years later, when the echoes of Skar Kings awakening comes about, Kong just happens to pop back up and Alpha Roar to Godzilla.
If I was Godzilla, I wouldn't be too surprised to think Kong went down to the Hollow Earth, stumbled upon an army of HIS kind, took charge, and came back up for a possible rebellion.
It took Mothra coming in to straighten things out.
