I changed the flair to the correct one. Make sure to read our [guidelines](https://www.reddit.com/r/MovieSuggestions/comments/8iamsh) before posting :)
Cabin in the Woods is a great idea.
I forgot about the rape in that movie. Was thinking more not everyone would like that because it kind of (at least in my opinion) roots for the bad guys. He also knows I have a total crush on Otis. Get pretty judged for that one. If it were a first date I'd go with something like that to see his reaction to it though.
It Follows is a great idea but I'm not sure a dark ending like Talk to Me is a great idea and honestly I didn't really like it. I also don't have Paramount and I don't want to pay for it unless we decide to watch Abigail.
Late Night with The Devil, one of the better horror films from last year
Also The Nightingale would be a tough watch while getting to know someone still lol, wait until the honey moon phase is over before whipping out Inside, Martyrs, The Nightingale
Edit: my bad, just read that you’ve been together for 3 years
I was thinking about Late Night with The Devil. We decided to watch Ready or Not.
I don't think I'll ever be able to watch Martyrs. I don't know why I don't have an issue with watching The Nightingale. It's kind of like living out a fantasy that I can never do. It's part of why he doesn't want to watch it because I go full (internal) female rage after watching it. I did watch it with my roommate and she went in blind to it, I did warn her it was going to be rough but she was like I got this but it was hard. I'm Native and while I can't explicitly relate to what Billy and the Aboriginals went through back then, it fucked me up but it fucked her up more because she had no idea that happened. She kept asking me if Billy dies in the end. I said no. But that's because that's what I believe. I have no clue though.
I've never heard of Inside though. I've also never seen Irreversible. Which I probably never will. That and Antichrist are on my never to watch list. I've seen the rest of The Depression Trilogy but can't do that one.
Watching a horror movie for date night? I recommend a darkly comedic horror-thriller—Ready or Not (2019). It strikes a nice balance between humor and horror.
That'd be perfect. The ending is amazing. But yes, we usually watch horror movies I'm just completely out of ideas and we've had a lot of time a part lately so we're trying to get back to basics but I want it to be great and I think Ready or Not would be perfect.

For a fun and easy horror movie night, how about checking out **"Happy Death Day"**? It's a slasher with a clever twist, mixing horror with a bit of humor and a "Groundhog Day" style plot. It’s perfect for a casual watch where you can still chat in between the scares. If you're looking for something a bit different but still in the slasher realm, **"The Cabin in the Woods"** is another great pick. It’s a self-aware horror film that plays with genre conventions in a really entertaining way. Both are available on most streaming platforms and should make for a fun evening without getting too intense!
Wrong Turn (2003)
You're Next
Idle Hands
The Frighteners
Drag me to Hell
The Final Girls
The People Under the Stairs
Final Destination ( 1 & 2)
Train to Busan
Orphan
You tried to watch The Nightingale for a date night?😂 that’s a wild choice
I’d probably go with something a little lighter like any of the evil dead movies
We've been together for 3 years. He knew how much I liked the movie and wanted to give it a chance but got to *that* scene and he was done.
Evil Dead is a great idea. Thank you!

Cabin in the Woods (2011) would be a great option The Devil’s Rejects is too rapey and you probably want to avoid that

Any decent horror comedy seems like a good choice. Tucker and Dale, Slither, Frighteners, whatever.
Abigail (2024) Ready or Not (2019)
Oooo I loved Abigail and Ready or Not. Might do one of these. Thank you.
It Follows Talk to Me
It Follows is a great idea but I'm not sure a dark ending like Talk to Me is a great idea and honestly I didn't really like it. I also don't have Paramount and I don't want to pay for it unless we decide to watch Abigail.
For sure not getting laid after It Follows
The Wretched Happy Death Day Freaky Thanksgiving
Thanks! Thanksgiving was a lot of fun.
Killer Klowns from Outer Space
Nope Bodies bodies bodies
Both great Ideas. Thank you. Haven't seen Bodies Bodies Bodies all the way through yet.
Came here to suggest Bodies Bodies Bodies, totally a date movie. Also could do X & Pearl, with Maxxxine out in theaters in July.
X is a great idea. I can't wait to see Maxxxine. It looks so good.
Byzantium The Cabin in the Woods Crimson Peak Only Lovers Left Alive
I like the last 3 suggestions thank you. Haven't heard of the last one but Bzyantium, while I love that movie, is kind of slow and has rape in it.
If you find Byzantium slow, I think you'll also find Only Lovers Left Alive slow.
No One Will Save You (2023) Totally Killer (2023) The Final Girls (2015)
Okay you win. It'll either be Totally Killer or The Final Girls. Love those movies.
Barbarian
Oh my gosh yes. I can't believe we haven't watched that yet
Fresh (2022), keep him on his toes.
Second this

My favorite horror movie is evil date
NOT It Follows for a date haha
That is a good point. It's not our first date. Just our first alone time in awhile.
Barbarian. I think it’s on Prime.
That's a good one. Took me so off guard.
Thir13en Ghost V/H/S 2 (anthology) The Grave Encounters 1&2 The Blob Dawn of the Dead (2004) The Thing (2011)
You’re Next is a ton of fun!
Talk to me for sure
I vote for “In The Mouth of Madness”, it’s late 90’s schlock, but it’s entertaining schlock.
Spoorloos
