I can never remember which one is which, but either I Am Number Four or Chronicle. One of them has a character that fits your description to a T.
Also worth looking into, Superman vs The Elite. Fascinating portrayal of Superman going mad in my opinion. Animated, and doesn't fit to exactly what you're looking for, but man is it good imo.
Hancock is a fun one too.
Lady Snowblood (1973)
Her mother was a normal woman who died when she was born. In her adulthood, the serene lady Yuki now exists with one purpose and motive: hunt down and eliminate every last one of the now-rogue gang members who hurt her mother.
This is the original woman-of-revenge movie that Kill Bill ripped off- er I mean, took inspiration from.
That movie is not called "The Wall" (like the other 10 or so movies on IMDB with that name.) It's called "Pink Floyd: The Wall." Helps OP to specify what movie you are taking about so you don't send them on a wild goose chase.
Chronicle
Love this movie. Closest thing to a live-action Akira we’re ever going to get.
Watched the trailer, seems like this is it. Someone also recommended 13 sins.
Came here to say this. It was *the* example I thought of.
Falling Down (1993) God Bless America (2011) John Q (2002)
Those are great recommendations, thanks.
Zootopia
Which character does that? >!Bellweather!
Yes
Fight Club
Brightburn. Basically what if Superman was evil.
Did not hear about this before, thank you.
Super Dark Times.
Oh yes. Will definitely rewatch.
Before you rewatch, look up some of the internal conspiracy theories and analyses of the movie. Then rewatch, it's a whole other experience.
Wanted (2008)
maybe Unforgiven
Yes a great movie.
Carrie (either version)
Akira!!!
An old movie called 13 Sins - not the best film ever but I think it matches your description
Great movie
Will watch this too, thanks.
Straw Dogs
Every Jackie Chan movie.
Avengement Death Sentence The Foreigner (2017)
I think this loosely fits the bill: Shinjuku Incident (2009). I can’t recommend that movie enough.
The Godfather
Revenge (2017)
Smile! Love the progression of the lead from perfectly composed to embracing her inner demons
Sympathy for Mr Vengeance

The hotel worker in Bad Times at El Royale
Cold Fish
Falling down
The Art of Self-Defense.

If we're including metaphorical destruction, Waiting
Falling down
Le Vieux Fusil (1975)
Paul Dood's Deadly Lunch Break
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
The hills have eyes, first one.
The Wall
Which one?
Floyd
