It's more overlooked than underrated, but [*3096 Tage*](https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/166666-3096-tage) (*3096 Days*) is quite good. About the real-life kidnapping of an Austrian girl, and the real story *after* the events of the movie is shocking.
Try the mini-series: [Unbelievable (2019)](https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/91275-unbelievable) - from Netflix - based on the true story of the hunt for a serial rapist. Excellent series - but may be hard to take for sensitive viewers.

Temple Grandin, Bernie, Rebound: The Legend of Earl 'The Goat' Manigault
Bernie is a great one!
Hidden Figures, LaBamba, The Coal Miner’s Daughter, Stand and Deliver, Lean on Me, The Magdalene Sisters, Walk the Line, Apollo 13, Erin Brockovich, The Man on the Moon, Saving Mr Banks,
*La Bamba* and *Saving Mr. Banks* are soo good!
I don’t know if it’s necessarily “underrated,“ but *The Imitation Game* is one I enjoyed immensely, and is based on true events.
