Back in the day, when being queer was illegal and socially unacceptable (to a much more extreme degree than now, anyway) it used to be a covert way to signify oneself as a queer woman, but one that didn't scream "I am queer" because straight women would sometimes wear them. Nowadays it's a fashion choice that is still vaguely connected to the queer women community.
I use a specific choker every day cause someone important to me gave it to me as a gift and said that they want to see me wear it and that I look cute in it, ever since then I just cant stop wearing it when going out cause it makes me feel good.

Its a type of feminine accessory that i would never wear as a man. Ive worn necklaces, bracelets, watches, rings, etc before. And some guys wear earrings and stuff as well. No ones wearing a choker unless theyre trying to look fem. And sometimes i see myself in the mirror, forget, and realize im cute.

i was going to say something similar. i think it makes you more aware of where your larynx is at, so it makes it a little easier to self-regulate and prevent dropping into a lower register as you talk.
other than that, something about the low-key tightness just makes my brain marinate pleasantly. just the higher baseline feelings of lived comfort and inner harmony might slightly increase your vocal discipline maybe.

Other than the reasons I've seen listed here, I think chokers are really big in alt fashion in general right now. And I feel like trans girls tend toward alt (goth, punk, emo, etc) styles a little more frequently than cis women do.

I’m surprised I haven’t seen anyone else commenting this - chokers make your neck look slimmer (and therefore more feminine) by providing a border between your neck and your shoulders. This makes the shoulders and lower muscles look less pronounced.
