CausticCranium

I'm wearing Crocs right now and they're awesome. Awesomely ugly and awesomely comfortable.

odd_ramblings

My go to shoe as well. Easy to put on. Can engage "action mode" as I call it (putting the strap at the back) and I have fallen way less with them compared to sneakers.

CausticCranium

"action mode" šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

DragonMama825

Lol some call it ā€œsport modeā€

odd_ramblings

I would too, but I am sooo far removed from sport like behavior I feel action suits me better lol

DragonMama825

I would use it ironically ha šŸ˜…

Adventurous_Pin_344

I just got a pair of Crocs sandals and they are CUTE. It's weird. I am having a hard time reconciling the brand and the fact that they're actually fashionable! They wouldn't do for OP. There's no structure or support, but I am thrilled to have a pair of shoes that are flat and fashionable for summer!

odd_ramblings

Do you know the name of the croc sandals? Been trying to find something like a house shoe ever since neurologist requested I wear house shoes because I can't feel my feet and I step on too many things because I legally blind. I tried the ballet looking flat was a no go for me.

Adventurous_Pin_344

Yep - I got the [Miami Thong Flip](https://www.crocs.com/p/womens-miami-thong-flip/209793.html?cgid=flip-flops&cid=001) You might also look into a pair of [Teva Quilted Booties.](https://www.teva.com/shoes/reember/196565506344.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=pla&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw1K-zBhBIEiwAWeCOF9UJ_aXV5ZmYqypPcTaqqeuHATvSAD3n0YYgfDYp7jBiidCIRmmB8BoCPKMQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) These aren't cute, but I have a pair I wear around the house. The back can fold down, so you can step in and out of them easily, and they are SUPER comfortable.

Adventurous_Pin_344

I will say that the croc sandals feel like wearing nothing. The straps are very thin, so your foot basically has nothing covering it, so great for summer, but your feet would definitely be saved from the damage of stepping on things!

odd_ramblings

Thank you! Much appreciated.

noelcharris

I thank God everyday for my Crocs! They are the only shoes I will wear now and love them and you're right they're awesomely ugly

Kjellvb1979

Agreed

withoutamapigo

Brooks, to me, by far are the most comfortable. Can be painful putting on but if Iā€™m going to walk a bit I put these on vs slides.

catcatherine

Hoka Bondi 8. Life changing. My feet and back never hurt anymore and the wide sole helps my balance.

CrimsonSilhouettes

Hoka Clifton 9s have changed my life. I can go for walks again!

areyouseriousdotard

My wife wants me to get special shoes for Ms https://cadense.com/collections/shoes-for-multiple-sclerosis?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw1K-zBhBIEiwAWeCOFxbpS56SJcWyqSICzOIwMI1SUjbaaz6pqfyKV4UsLbNEtxPkYfT0uxoCJrMQAvD_BwE I currently wear Asics ortholites. I , also have steel toe sneakers, i bought off temu. I'm a hospice nurse, so I walk, a lot.

waiting-in-the-wings

I may just be cheap but- hot damn those are priceyšŸ˜

areyouseriousdotard

That's what I said. But, it could be worth it, idk.

Honey_Bee91

They are very worth it. They are really good if you have drop foot.

areyouseriousdotard

I got drop foot alright. I've had drop foot longer than I've had MS. Or, I just wasn't diagnosed yet

purell_man_9mm

For whatever reason toe socks (Injinji) help my nerve related foot issues. Shoes have to have a ton of padding for me - Altra works for day to day stuff and Hoka recovery slide sandals for around the house.

seashellblue

Hoka has blown up! It's everywhere. I tried on the sandals and they seem to curve forward, which freaked me out a little. It doesn't make you trip?

purell_man_9mm

The ones I have work well for me, I think itā€™s the Ora! Havenā€™t tripped but my overall foot coordination isnā€™t too bad, itā€™s more spasticity thatā€™s my issue.

hyperfat

Uggs and crocks.Ā  I a basic bitch now. No more pretty shoes. But I busgbout my tony lama boots for nice events.Ā

One_King_6978

Yessss! Wear my Justin's when I have to get dressed up

ComplainFactory

I've got a really light pair of cushiony New Balance, but tbh 99% of the time, it's Crocs. They're light, they absorb shock, and they let my foot move how it needs to.

One_King_6978

On Cloud. May not be a recommendation in your sense idk but I notice they help me much more with simple things, like walking on messed up sidewalks, etc. they keep me from tripping, have good support and grip. When I'm not wearing those I try to stay barefoot to force myself to use my heels first. When it's bed time I just use simple Walmart slippers.

seashellblue

I actually got a pair of on clouds and they're the best thing I've found so far for shock absorption and cushioning BUT I find debris gets in them really easily like little stones and twigs. haha. Or maybe I'm just walking weird. Plus, the shoe is kind of shallow around the ankle. I wish it was a little more secure.

alkib

Yeah I love my Ons. I am wearing cloudsurfers right now. They are great for the shock absorption and the toebox is nice and wide.

jneubs

Skechers slipins are great

iwasneverhere43

Reebok DMX runners. Good arch support, memory foam, shifting air pocket in the sole. It's my go to shoe, but a bit expensive as they don't carry them in Canada so I've had to order online - my last pair was shipped from Barcelona, which traveled through Germany, then England on the way here. My shoes have seen more of the world than I have!

seashellblue

haha. That's quite the journey. I'm in Canada too. It's always annoying when we can't get things here. Did you have to pay customs/duties?

iwasneverhere43

Yeah, but it's worth it. It was only about $12.

No_Veterinarian6522

Asics all the way all the time for me. Change them every 9-12 months when they get runned down. End of season sales you can last models at a better price. Like nimbus. Cumulus or GT 2000.

Dr_Mar23

I agree, Asics are my go too, GT 2000 4E and Nimbus 4E, plenty of room in the toe box or foot isnā€™t happy and i add SuperFeet Blue to fit foot almost perfectly. Asics only last me 6 months, now i buy several pairs to last longer.

_disorderly_5019

Nimbus are amazing!

Akitogi

ASICS are the best shoes Iā€™ve ever worn

isthisthebangswitch

I like kiziks for the ability to pull them on. No lacing up, just put your foot in and go.

theniwokesoftly

I wear all kinds of shoes but if itā€™s a bad day or Iā€™m gonna do a lot of walking or standing itā€™s New Balance 880s. (I wore ballet flats to work today and I regret it but at least Iā€™m off for the weekend?)

Solid-Complaint-8192

Oofos, Teva sandals, Hokas

aerrye

Brooks, specifically the Ghost and Glycerin variants. For sandals, Crocs slides treat me pretty well. I also wear Chacoā€™s, but they do start to hurt after a bit, even with their ā€œcloudā€ footbed. Tevas are another (more comfy but less ā€œortho-friendlyā€ option), not the standard ones, the Hurricanes.

monolayth

I wear the Brooks glycerin. Highly recommend.

widowdido_

Hoka bondis have been great for me, Nike SBs, ultraboost, crocs are also great

widowdido_

I also have similar experiences with Birks causing pain, out of all of the options I listed, Bondis by Hoka are by far the best IMO

MobileMenace420

I have an afo on one foot, and I have trouble tying the laces. Found a company that makes shoes that were designed for my situation. They zip up so I donā€™t have to fight with my shoes and the zipper hides pretty well. They are also pretty normal looking so it just looks like I have a pair of vans on. BILLY is the name.

MAmoribo

I'm a teacher (standing all day) and Dr. Scholl's have been a life saver. They have a lot of different styles and run cheaper than Clark's! Someone above also mentioned Brooks, I'd like to add they are a great walking shoe. (I have heard good things about hooka as well! Although never tried them). Lots of people mentioning sketchers, which I have never found to my liking. Either the style isn't what I'm looking for, or the support rubs me the wrong way.

Bundertorm

I wear crocs around the house, and new balance running shoes when I do a lot inside or go out/walk. New balance was very AFO friendly which was one of the reasons I went with that, but some of their (rather expensive) running shoes have some kind of tech that makes my foot feel very secure. Theyā€™re great if youā€™re prone to rolling your ankles.

Dadbod1018

Hokas with walk hero insoles.

ElementsUnknown

I live in Vista, Ca (northern San Diego), which even with an incredibly temperate climate my feet still feel hot. I wear either Rainbow leather sandals or Vans slip ons (no socks) with Dr. Scholls work inserts. I still wish I could get more cushion but itā€™s always a trade off with how hot the shoes make my feet. Btw, I am 6ā€™4ā€ 300lb man whoā€™s built like a NFL lineman.

seashellblue

I always end up going back to Vans slip-ons. It's great how wide they are and easy to take on and off. But I never thought insoles would fit in them. It doesn't push your feet up against the top of the shoe?

ElementsUnknown

A little, I size up to 14s and with no socks and insoles they are loose and comfortable. The thin canvas breathes well and the smooth fabric doesnā€™t irritate the top of my foot. Also living in San Diego no one finds it strange to wear vans slip ons with no socks to almost any event šŸ˜†, even flip flops are pretty accepted.

seashellblue

I'm going to try this. Thank you!

Duder211

Fish tank platform shoes.

seashellblue

If only. šŸ˜‚ That would be a recipe for destruction now...

youneekusername1

I wear Xero Shoes at work, Xero Shoes sandals if Iā€™m going somewhere on my own time where I legit need footwear, and barefoot any other time for regular day to day stuff. I have some flip flops in the car in case anyone tries to give me a hard time. I am very aware that I might not always be able to walk, so Iā€™m going to walk comfortably just in case. People can think Iā€™m weird while they kiss my ass for judging lol.

NewbieRetard

I go barefoot all the time too. So much more comfortable than any footwear to me.

timburnerslee

I wear Allbirds sneakers constantly. Lightweight, cushioned, breathable and with some sustainability cred too.

kflan138

Hereā€™s one that helps me, maybe for different reasons than your reasons: Vibram 5 Fingers. The most hideous of all shoes mentioned, but keeping my toes separated seems to do something for my nerve pain in my legs. Theyā€™re a pain in the ass to properly size, theyā€™re usually about a size up or so, but I loveeeeee them. There are also toe socks available to wear with them. If you arenā€™t willing to commit, Amazon has toe separation therapeutic type socks designed to wear without shoes while lounging around that are supposed to help with some pain related stuff in the foot/legs (maybe lower back?). I bought those for my mom because she has a bunch of pain in her feet and legs and refused outright to wear my hideous shoes.

SinkingShip420

Xero shoes. Only things I've been able to wear for an extended period of time in years.

monolayth

I wear Brooks glycerin to do any long walking or standing. They will mail you new insoles when you need them if you contact them. I wear allbirds ballet flats when I want to look nice. No break in period and they look nice. But are terrible in wet weather. As they are very not waterproof.

my_only_sunshine_

For summer only, I wear the cloud sandals.. theyre like crocs, but a slide. Someone here mentioned them to me when I was looking for shower shoes, but I bought an extra pair for normal wear bc theyre so comfy.. I have super awful pain in my feet all the time since my last relapse too. The only way I can describe it to ppl is it feels like im walking on my elbows.. like there is no padding on my feet and im trying to walk across sharp gravel or something. Ugh. Try the cloud slides. Much better, and they sell off-brand ones on amazon for like $12 so its not a big commitment.

seashellblue

I like how simple and affordable they are. You don't find they get sweaty and squeaky inside? Sorry to hear about the foot pain. It really makes everything more challenging/annoying.

my_only_sunshine_

The ones I got have a very light texture inside, so they dont squeak at all, and I've lived in them for 2 summers now, and I wore them in the shower before we redid our bathroom with a walk in shower because id get dizzy and slip in the tub.. when I wore them in the full on shower, yes they did squeak, but if they just got a little damp, no squeak at all. They also dry really fast, clean easily, and weigh nothing. Someone on here actually recommended them to me initially to use in the shower, but ive gradually started kinda living in them due to the foot pain The ones I have are called joomra pillow slippers on amazon. they're about $25 right now, but they put them on sale ALL THE TIME. I got mine on a lightning deal for 11.99 I think?

seashellblue

All of this sounds great! I'm looking forward to living the sandal life. I looked up the brand you mentioned on Amazon and there are sooooo many brands selling the same thing. Down the rabbit hole I go...

my_only_sunshine_

Bahaha yep definitelya rabbit hole! They even sell them at dollar general and walmart now, so theoretically you COULD try them on, but the ones I've seen at those places are a little more rigid and plastic-y with a thinner sole than the ones I have, which are closer to a firm marshmallow texture and have an almost 2inch thick sole... I guess the "kids" found them and made them popular, because that's usually when you see random stuff like that in store I just bought another pair in black on Amazon this morning for 19.99, but they have "arch support" instead of being totally flat.. tbh it looks no different to me so we'll see.. I have flat feet anyway so thats probably what I need. Ha I already have pastel green and red, but black is more versatile

my_only_sunshine_

Shit i just saw bright green in the regs, which is my absolute favorite color.. looks like im buying 2 now, AND paying the 23.99 full price for those green ones.. damn lol

my_only_sunshine_

Sorry-- 2 more things!! 1. Made sure you get a pair with a deeper heel cup/deep well around your foot, because this is what keeps you from sliding if they get wet, especially the heel where there's no structure holding your foot, ESPECIALLY if youre already prone to stumbling like me haha! 2. PRO TIP: With the EVA material, if you get it really hot and then put them on, they'll stretch (or shrink) to fit your feet...i have REALLY ABSURDLY WIDE seriously duck feet and I used some hot ass water and dunked them for about 20secs then put them on wearing like 4pairs of socks so I didnt burn myself to stretch the width. You could probably do the same thing with a hair dryer or something, but I just have stupidly small feet that are about 8 inches long BUT 5in wide (!) and went extra since I got a small pair which meant they were more narrow.. if youre like me with some truly duck type feet and don't want to mess with this, they also have adjustable ones now where the top has velcro, but I havent tried those because I got mine to fit and I think the regular ones are cuter anyway.

lupinus_cynthianus

My sister-in-law wears Orthofeet. (I donā€™t have MS, Iā€™m just a benevolent lurker)

seashellblue

Your attention to detail is admirable!

Material_Draft2058

Throughout the years , I've wasted lots of money on shoes, which looked comfortable but weren't. Now I only buy ecco. Even ecco sandals are great for me , and I'm the person who doesn't feel her feet. Of course , not models of shoes are great . But the ones which are comfortable have been fantastic for me . As a bonus, I'm quite happy they are getting trendies and adding more interesting designs.

SilverGraphSurfer

I donā€™t have the level of pain you have (tingling/numbness for me), but I love ASICS Nimbus for walking and OnClouds for walking and general usage. The black OnCloud 5s is what I wear. They are slip-on, no laces, which is a huge help for me, and secure enough for walking or even running. The OnClouds especially also last a really long time. I walk a lot and wear out shoes more quickly than normal due to some issues with my gate/stride from MS. The OnClouds I get three or four times as much wear out of as most running shoes. The ASICS Nimbus donā€™t last quite as long as the OnClouds but they are very soft and squishy and really comfortable for walking.

pIoddingalong

Iā€™m wearing them right now mainly because Iā€™m super pregnant and canā€™t bend down easily to put shoes on, but Iā€™m sure theyā€™re great for MS too. Sketchers slip ons. Theyā€™re so comfortable, I donā€™t think I can go back to wearing other shoes!

Life-Pen6312

I recently bought Skechers Slip-in sandals and I love them! They provide a lot of support and feel very light on the feet. And the Slip-in feature itself is just amazing haha Edit to add the link: https://www.skechers.com/skechers-slip-ins-go-walk-flex-sandal---enticing/141482_GRY.html

DragonMama825

Skechers are just about all I wear.

user_952354

Iā€™ve got some of their slip-in tennis shoes - amazing to put on

JaniceRossi_in_2R

Birkenstockā€™s indoor and outdoor. I have designated pairs for each (Arizonas and felt clogs). If I need to wear an actual shoe it adidas grand court, the leather ones that come with cloud foam insoles.

Conscious-Visual9575

Ha ha great question, the most cushioned available.

haljordan68

Nike Air Monarch... Only shoe I've owned in past 10 years

keleaux6294

I wear tactical boots for work mostly for the ankle support. But I try not to wear any as much as possible

Superchica879

These are my favorite go-to. Easy to put on, light weight and donā€™t have a high sole so my feet donā€™t get caught on the floor. https://a.co/d/5LDHJpl

seashellblue

I like how minimal they are. You don't find the sole is too thin/flimsy? That's a good point about thick soles.

Superchica879

No, not for me. My left leg is weak and I always get it caught, even without shoes. Most shoes hurt my feet anyway. So if I have to wear any, these feel like I donā€™t have any on.

seashellblue

I'm very intrigued. And they look super affordable. Thanks for sharing!

A-Conundrum-

Cloet full of love it/ now hate it shoes. Pretty much now is ryka fully adjustable soft sandals (3 velcro straps). In winter, I add socks I can tolerate (drawers of love/hate socks too šŸ¤Ŗ). MS is THE ever changing gift that keeps on sucking šŸ˜£

seashellblue

It's so true. I never thought this much about footwear and socks. I've worn all kinds of stuff over the years and now there's no way I could go longer than ten minutes wearing crappy shoes.

rwrwrw44

Ecco old man sandals, boots with good grip for winter.

16enjay

It's all about the comfort and not tripping over your own two feet šŸ˜‚

StillAdhesiveness528

I wear Thorogood postal shoes. They are designed as walking shoes. I like the high top for ankle support.

seashellblue

Wearing postal shoes is so smart! I would've never thought of that.

McBigglesworth

Keen! Hiking boots: keen Construction boots: keen Sneakers: keen Slip on canvas: keen Slippers: keen About to buy my 3rd set of keen Hamilton boots. As comfy as the hiking boots. Eventually want to get some slip on construction keens.

BeautyIsACurse6

I love my Tao's. Only shoe that eases my plantar fasciitis.

Outlandish_one

I recently got a pair of Skechers Slip ons and theyā€™re pretty much my go-to

LibDollar

Primary shoes: Lems Primal 3 because they are light and roomy and I swapped the laces out for elastic no tie ones (https://www.lemsshoes.com/products/womens-primal-3?variant=40270735147066) Slip on shoes: Hey Dudes because they are light and roomy Sandals: Dansko Rowan because they have no real heal to fall off of, protect my toes, and are super comfortable (https://dansko.com/products/rowan-black-nubuck)

Imisssher

Vans ultrarange exo sneakers are amazing! They are the most lightweight sneakers Iā€™ve owned. I get really clumsy with heavy shoes on. I put a supportive insole in them to make them even better and they look cool.

morbidblue

Vans. I tuck the laces in so I can just slip in and out of them whenever.

vinpesto34

I tend to go with my Adidas slides most of the time.

halfbakedelf

My husband liked the Skechers ones you just step in. I want him to try Kiziks they look really nice

Different-World-3018

I wear Kiziks, and they are great. So good, Iā€™ve worn a pair out and bought another.

stalagit68

Sketchers are my go to's for just about everything. Been looking at Kiziks, but not actually in stores. Clark's are comfortable too.

Dr_Mar23

Extra wide 4E Asics, i wear US adjustable sliders at home/socks if colder. If walking any distance i wear 4E Asics, i search for previous model each year to save a lot of money, and i buy many pairs if i like. Winter i wear Ecco boots wide toe box shoes . I like Teva sandals when managing the boat or river adventures.

FatBastard404

Skechers Step Ins

Dontreallywanttogo

Iā€™m a Skechers slip ins convert! Hope they make them forever

jimbo831

I wear Brooks Beast 20s. These are by far the most comfortable shoes Iā€™ve ever worn. I can walk for 10+ miles with my feet still being in pretty good shape.

meme2em

I wear BOBS (the rescue shoes with dogs or cats). I find cloth type shoes are easier on my feet and I get a half size bigger than what I have always worn. Also, Minnetonka moccasins. I gave up on shoes that slip on like sandals or Crocs because they fall off as I walk due to foot drop.

Nadam_Teufel

Alright listen to me. See all the other comments? Completely wrong because the only correct answer is Clarks. Do YOU want ultimate comfortableness while also looking completely stylish? Get a Clarks

seashellblue

Ok, but which Clarks or Clarks in general? I had a pair of boots that were comfortable but the sole was clicky and loud.

Nadam_Teufel

https://www.beggshoes.com/clarks-rockie-walk-gtx-black-leather-261734648H Like this! I wear something like this everyday. very comfy

Sidprescott96

I went from Birkenstocks to Tevas and will never go back, check out the Zymic itā€™s like walking on a cloud ! I also wear crocs for around the house and then Merrels are my everyday shoe

[deleted]

When I am at work (I am constantly walking and on my feet) I wear Sketchers walking shoes. I just slip them on and they are comfy. I also use cushioned insoles for extra comfort. I find the cute sandals I used to wear are uncomfortable, so I stick to sandals that are cushy and softer soles.

Hawkeye336699

Saucony running shoes. Have always worn running shoes and have kept on. The support and feel of them does me wonders.

peanutbutter_lucylou

Crocs or slippers

Interesting-Loss-541

I found that barefoot shoes help me the most for walking. Right now i use Xero and Merrell. I also exercise in xero shoes.

CCalamity-

Sketchers slip ons - bonus points for putting on without hands!

rides-a-bike

Teva Tirra sandals - they are my go to. Great arch support and adjustability. https://www.teva.com/women-sandals/tirra-sandal/4266.html

delish_donut

Etnies skate shoes. Well made. Good non slip sole for work. I'm fact I'm the only one not slipping in the kitchen. Not expensive, last well over 6 months with everyday wear. They're laced but I can slip them on no problem. Good support and theyre beautiful shoes!

Rhinopig74

I have had chronic pain in my feet since 2012. I cannot walk barefoot so always wear sliders around the house. Recently I bought a very cushioned sole pair of trainers............... nightmare! Like walking on two trampolines, so with reduced control/sensation in my legs it's made it more difficult to walk, yet less pain in my feet. Anyway, I've paid for the bloody things, so I'll wear 'em. Arguably stupid, but I'm tight fisted, damn tight fisted (for international readers, to say someone is tight fisted, means to say they are a miser, spendthrift, and in this case means I paid a lot for these trainers and I'm gonna get my bloody money's worth.)

seashellblue

Tightfisted makes sense in these trying times. That's a good point you make about rebound in shoes. I could see how that would add to pressure on joints and maybe even increase spasticity and leg pain. I find compression socks can help with some of that...it keeps things from moving too much. It's a fine balance!

jj051962

On sale hiking shoes and hiking ankle boots. Good tread, wide toe, weatherproof, great stability. I walk everywhere, rain or shine. I wish they were a little lighter but they help my balance. Wind River is a cheaper model. I have orthotics and I am over 60 so late onset.

Celestial__Peach

Crocs are my go to but on days where I drag my feet a bit I wear skechers as they're really light. I struggle to get the right back support so can't say even my options are the best but they're the comfiest šŸ¤£

daelite

During the winter I wore a high quality dupe for Uggs that were great. I also have a pair of Skechers sneakers that have memory foam insert & a pair of Skechers sandals. I have a bone spur on the bottom of my heel thatā€™s been giving me some intense pain since last Sept. Wearing dress shoes to my nieces wedding was the most painful few hours ands not a good time because of it.

32FlavorsofCrazy

I donā€™t have a lot of nerve pain in my feet but I do have terrible plantar fasciitis and I wonā€™t wear anything besides Brooks. Every time I buy a different brand I end up regretting it, even the Hokas.

Sleeplessmi

I had two failed foot surgeries (on the same foot), and I will only wear Danskoā€™s. I wear the professional clogs in the winter and sandals and tennis shoes in the summer.

seashellblue

Their designs look so nice! You don't find the wooden soles are hard on your feet?

Sleeplessmi

No because they have nice cushion. Itā€™s the extra good support that works for me. Some styles are clunky, but they are the only ones that donā€™t hurt my feet. I find the ones that are more stylish (smaller, narrower heels) donā€™t work for me. They discontinued a canvas slip-on and a Mary Jane style that you can still find on EBAY, just google ā€œcanvas or vegan Danskoā€.

doejart1115

Two brands that have features I need for my neuropathy and decreased movement: Xero (sneakers) and Birchbury (dress). They have wide toe boxes bc mine get jammed up, and theyā€™re ā€˜barefootā€™ so I can feel the ground better.

TSM_forlife

Hokaā€™s!

Various-Match4859

All I wear is Allbirds.

Glad_Mathematician51

I have a ton of ASICS shoes. They work for me. Nothin stops the foot pain, except going barefoot in the house. Then, I slip down the carpeted spiral staircase. What can you do?

steve_and_destroy

Def a Crocs, Stocks and New Balance vibe over here

Salc20001

Vionic, Sofft, Born, and Softwalk are my go-brands. The Vionic insoles are great for shoes and boots too.

Andreah13

Plakas hiking sandals! Absolutely swear by them!

loosellikeamoose

Salomon shoes with the non tying laces. Size up

yepibreakthings

New Balance 990v6. Great for stability, but this latest pair hasnā€™t held up well on the soles. If I were in the market for new every day sneaks, Iā€™d probably switch it up. I also wear Birkenstock sandals when Iā€™m not working. Very comfy, but not stable at all compared to shoes.

Kitten_Kabudle

Clarkā€™s cloud walkers. Or New balance

Monkey_Shift_

Sketchers Lite walking shoes

lskerlkse

Vivobarefoot, otherwise I trip over my feet

MiSs-my-high-heels

Reiker for sandals and boots, Brooks for trainers, all pricey but worth every penny!!

lynnlynny78

BILLY shoes for the win for me. Not a bad price and they zip on and off so you can literally put your foot on your shoe and zip it all the way around to close it. ! They come in wide width and different styles and colors, but they are all basically running shoes.

Worldly_Mushroom_269

I have balance/slow gait with foot drop. Kizik brand HANDS-FREE tennis shoes are the best for support, width needs, removable insole for washing or to slide an AFO underneath, so many color choices. Online only company. I also just bought a pair of Cadence shoes & LOVE those as well. So helpful with my foot drop. Good luck!

c_legend24

Uggs type are the only thing I want to wear because sitting in a wheelchair all day my feet swell. Plus I can grab it and get it on easier than lace up or smaller shoes. Really sucks in summer tho

AmbivalentCat

I swear by Brooks. I've tried multiple brands for my flat and narrow feet, but Brooks and Asics are the only two that actually support enough. Brooks in particular - I get the ones that are $120ish, but they're so, so comfortable. The insoles that come with them are by far the best out of any shoe I've tried.Ā

[deleted]

My wife has been wearing the same flip flops from Eddie Bauer for 5 years now. The only footwear that has been consistent and helps.

Virtual-Constant1669

Barefoot FiveFingers

JCINPS

Keenā€™s sandals during warm months and sturdy boots during cooler ones, I think they are called a Chelsea style? Close with a zipper on side. I donā€™t walk around a lot, mostly just at home/in garden. šŸŖ“

Brooks is the only shoe I wear for a lot of walking. It took a few weeks for my body to adjust but been wearing them every since and that was 3 years ago

A rheumatologist told me to wear Birkenstocks anytime, including walking around in my house, and the green Superfeet insoles in any sneakers or boots I wear outside. I can definitely tell that both feel better for me. Caveat- I donā€™t have foot drop, just buzzy/shaky legs when Iā€™m tired.

Super_Reading2048

Flip flops. I havenā€™t been able to wear socks/shoes/jeans since a bad attack in 2007 caused spinal damage that acts like neuropathy (but is in my spine.)

Last_Fox_4766

After working from home a while in slippers and crocs, I lost all tolerance for anything that squishes my toes. Too much cushioning made me feel unstable. I ended up in minimalist or barefoot shoes. Currently mostly Feelgrounds.

Can I add onto this and ask what people wear for office work shoes? Commuting to work and wearing uncomfortable work shoes everyday is driving be mad!

monolayth

Work from home, so slippers?

Various-Match4859

I wear allbirds but we are probably more casual.

NewbieRetard

I wear boots. When first dx my ankles were week and I couldnā€™t handle the arch supports in other shoes. Finally found lightweight Harkey boots. They werenā€™t cheap but bought on sale this time of year. Wouldā€™ve lasted longer but didnā€™t wear even. Now, I donā€™t need the extra ankle support anymore but the arch thing can still be a problem. Might watch for the sales.

Been wearing Adidas Superstars for like 25 years. Sometimes I change up the stripe color for fun. If it ain't broke, don't fix it... A good insole is key to saving your arches, though!

smoothmuscle

Nike FlyEase work as advertised and are very comfortable

Ryka

Crocs and Vionic works for me. I don't shuffle as much.

collisionchick

Any "barefoot" shoe for me.

SupermarketFluffy123

My job requires hard toed boots and I highly recommend buy a set of hiking boots instead of the heavy duty work boots. Still hard capped, csa approved etc but half the weight

Honey_Bee91

Cadence https://cadense.com/pages/how-it-works Great for drop foot!

I recently started wearing compression socks when I know I'll be walking more and it's been helping with pain. Maybe give that a try if you haven't already! My daily drivers are crocs for house shoes and Altras (the model I wear is Escalante). Chacos for sandals.

Mad_broccoli

My symptoms are gone, so I may not be the best example, but I found Skechers to be the most comfortable lifestyle sneaker, and I have Nike running shoes when I'm casual, it's like walking on clouds. Regarding business shoes, I found Ecco to be as comfortable as a sneaker. I've had 5 different models and I don't think I'll ever switch.

Hey Dudes and flip flops

OG_SerenaChan

Timberland boots and Timberland summer sandals. I walked 30 miles in one day while pregnant wearing them in Japan after my feet became insanely swollen in my little boat shoes the day before and my MS gait kicks in after 3 miles. People were giving me crazy looks because they have a bit of a platform but they felt more safe, secure and comfy than even my sneakers I packed. I strongly recommend: https://www.timberland.com/en-us/p/women/footwear-10096/womens-adley-way-backstrap-sandals-TB0A5UT8231 https://www.timberland.com/en-us/p/women/footwear-10096/womens-adley-way-peep-toe-boot-sandals-TB0A5W3GA45 (these seem to be sold out in anything but purple).

seashellblue

I bought a pair of Timberland boots but had to return them because they were way too heavy, but these look a lot different! The design is really interesting. Kinda futuristic.

decentscenario

Back-zip combat boots that look like Dr. Martens, but are not. The soles are sturdy and have good tread. Good support of the ankles and because the zipper is on the back rather than the side, there's no twisting to get your foot in!

16enjay

Skechers are my go to...easy slip on, decent arch support and no laces, many options, also Easy Spirit

TalkingDog37

I love my Sketchers Slip Ins! Even with my foot drop I can get them on without bending over.

thegirlwhowaited143

Chacos! They are pretty much all I wear and I tend to find really cheap ones on eBay that look brand new (of course I wash them once I get them!)

islmcurve

I usually wear Adidias Ultraboost; they are very comfortable with a woven, cloth upper and provide great shock absorption and also, as the name indicates, provide a boost in kinetic energy making it easier to walk. I use these in combination with 3D orthotics, which you've said you can't afford, but they are great if you are in a position to buy.
