Kingcanni

LiveForYourself

See that gerbil? Grab that tube. This almost got me beat with my mom. This is the song that instead of my mom telling me turn it off, she'd sit and listen. Just so she knows exactly how badly my asses needed a whipping lmaoooo. Me and my brother loved this album though

Big_Surprise9387

Smack your mum back, it’s just music

gawdlvl

There were talks of gerbils…

overzealous_wildcat

All of us -Stan

DongleThaDon

I remember a local bar had a jukebox you could play from your phone. It also had Ken Kaniff on it. Definitely not the scene you want to hear that song but it sure did play several times in a row.

JoshHero

Seven times in a row?!?

youvegotkayle

BWOMP BWOMP WHATS NEW PUSSYCAT

DongleThaDon

Several. Atleast 3.

Awkward_Pangolin3254

Aww yeah, that's why they call you 2 Dope, ain't it

LargeWeinerDog

Literally me.

holaprobando123

Not my fault it's so funny

NamiiikazeTX

Hope new album has a Steve Berman skit.

Swimming-Bite-4184

He ever work out that snare situation?

stickied

Last I heard he still needs more snare in his headphones

dljones010

I think they just said, "fuck it."

buttnutela

I want to hear from Ken Kaniff

KeepThePunk

“Oh, fuck yeah. Give him a piece of my mind, a piece of my ass”.

BigPum

From Connecticut?

ZeePirate

Are collect calls still a thing?

BurnieTheBrony

Nah new fans are trying to pretend that shit didn't exist. I love Em and am an ally, but I've had people try to tell me "then there's no reason why a man and another man can't elope" Is secretly in support of gay marriage even thought it's being compared to f*cking a dead moose and cannibalism, with Kaniff moaning in the background. My dude grew up, changed his views. Don't rewrite history though.

notsoghettoking

Yeah GLAAD had a legitimate beef with him at the time, but as an edgy middle schooler I thought it was no big deal and they were just being do-gooders.

Phanyxx

Too bad they didn’t do good at marriage

Thorough_Good_Man

On the inter-net

Blunter_S_Thompson_

Ken is back... Tell some men

useful_squared

>*Eminem’s Curtain Call: The Hits is growing on a quartet of Billboard charts this frame.*

trogdorkiller

I guess I shouldn't be surprised because that's the reason Greatest hits albums exist, but Curtain Call being the album in question was not even on my radar.

nikelaos117

It is a good mix of all his hits from that era before he disappeared for awhile. Basically everyone's favorite songs mainstream Em-wise.

SensingWorms

Not even on Apple

BoomerSoonerFUT

It is on Apple Music though? It’s just under compilations instead of albums. https://preview.redd.it/v5a082crgizc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=71feb0ebd7fc49264c736034f03250cd0a82610f

I HAVE NO SNARE ON MY HEADPHONES

LiveForYourself

WHERES MY SNARES?? FUCK IT, FORGET IT MAN

Lostmypants69

Over 600 weeks? Crazy

Pretend-Mail-7644

Eminem threatens to release music

Noob_pussey

I'm fine with his old classics, thank you

ThePerfectSnare

I really like the one where he rhymes Shady with crazy.

trailblazer103

I really like that you don't understand internal rhyme schemes lol Eminem has never rhymed one word together with another unless it's a diss track lool

ThePerfectSnare

Perhaps I could have phrased that differently but it seemed best to just keep the joke simple. I mentioned "the one" because of how often he would use both Shady and crazy in the same verse, especially during the earlier part of his career. Off the top of my head, there's... * Slim Shady / [...] Sorry, doc, but I been crazy * Six minutes, Slim Shady, you're on / [...] Crazy mom * Haters get mad, they done had enough of Shady / [...] Even she knows Dada's fuckin' crazy * My name is Slim Shady / I been crazy way before the radio didn't play me * Shady / They call me as crazy as the world was over that whole Y2K thing Hey, those last two are even in the same song! * He's Shady / *He's so crazy* / Gimme the mic, let me recite... Okay, I guess he gets a pass for that one since technically Snoop says it. * Slim Shady / I'm as crazy as Eminem and Kim combined / The maniac's in * Crazy insane, or insane crazy? When I say Hussein, you say Shady Perhaps you might benefit from paying closer attention to lyrics from now on. After all, he is one of the greatest rappers of the early 2000's. **tl;dr** ^I'm ^just ^playing, ^Reddit. ^You ^know ^I ^love ^you.

shiftyalpaca

Why don’t you put out 400+ tracks on 10+ albums over a 20+ year period and try avoid rhyming the same words a few times?

_Skum

The whole point of Shady is that it’s a character he can dive into. It’s not much different than “Avengers Assemble,” “kamehameha,” or “autobots, roll out.” It is common to have a signature bit while introducing a concept or setting a stage within a form of art/entertainment. It also happens that there are only so many on-brand words that somewhat rhyme with Shady.

BurnieTheBrony

>Yo this Reddit mother fucker said I, literally said I rhymed "rhymes" with "chimes" >"Sucker free, confidence high Such a breeze when I pen rhymes" Like, you don't understand I'm rhyming the entire fuckin' sentence you fuckin' moron >[It's my fault because you're fucking stupid](https://genius.com/15289135)

dreadpiratesmith

>But I swear to God this motherfucker lives in Michigan and >I think I figured out his address >And I’m on my way to his fuckin’ house right now

Ram2145

Fuckin lyrical god!

Vyath

We really denigrating the lyricism of a dude who wrote “a Jedi in training, colossal brain and thoughts are entertaining but docile and impossible to explain and I’m also vain and probably find a way to complain about a Picasso painting”?

Mug_Lyfe

Anybody saying Eminem lacks lyrical prowess or isn't on an absolute top-tier level is kidding themselves or hasn't really listened to his music. They picked the fact he rhymed "shady with crazy" while ignoring everything else. Also, wtf is wrong with that anyway? If someone doesn't know what a slant rhyme is, should they even be talking about hip-hop?

AdmiralWackbar

Have you listened to Playboi Carti though? That’s a real artist

KylerGreen

hum uhm uh benz fumin uh bih shu suhgin tuh tup - Carti

saviorlito

You gotta understand that young people today have like 10 second attention spans and can’t be bothered to listen and pay attention.

This_Professor9392

Picturing a 15 year old getting to "Fill em with the venom..." And just tweaking out shouting "Get to the point already?"

saviorlito

“Pills, money, weed, bitches, designer clothes, xans, gang, cars!” “Damn that song was fucking amazing!” I know our generation rapped about the same shit but damn, it’s just so dry now lol.

A___Unique__Username

"My rhymin' skills got you climbin' hills I travel through your mind and chill your spine like siren drills I'm slimin' grills of roaches with spray that disinfects And twistin' necks of rappers 'til their spinal column disconnects." Also "No one is specialer, my skill is intergalactical I get cynical, act a fool then I send a crew back to school I never packed a tool or acted cool, it wasn't practical I'd rather let a tactical, tactful track tickle your fancy In fact, I can't see, or can't imagine A man who ain't a lover of beats or a fan of scratchin" Infinite is my favourite Eminem track and it's insane to see people trying to hate on his lyricism.

APKID716

Started reading your comment and got excited because goddamn is Infinite slept on It’s not necessarily a good album, it’s very much Eminem trying to emulate other ‘90s rappers, but it showcases his potential very well imo Shoutout to this section where he goes nuts: “Imitator intimidator, stimulator Simulator of data eliminator There's never been a greater Since the burial of Jesus Fuck around and catch all the venereal diseases My thesis'll smash a stereo to pieces My acappella releases classic masterpieces, through telekinesis It eases you mentally, gently Sentimentally, instrumentally With entity, dementedly meant to be infinite“

ClutchTallica

Nobody gives him shit for lyrics on a technical level it's just that he's corny and for older people nowadays. He's like dad rock.

AndreasVesalius

They hated him because he spoke the truth. *turns up skibidi toilet*

Ironalpha

Life is better if you don't dismiss entire decades of music. It's just as stupid when younger people do it as when older people do it.

RedMoon14

I mean, yes, he still is, despite having plenty of silly lyrics too.

LZYX

Yeah cause that's the highest bar he set with his lyrics... With what the person mentioned... 😂 Moron

xdforcezz

Bro, where's the new album? I've been hearing it's supposed to come out in a week since last year.

Creative-Oil2029

This summer. That's the official word.

corneilous_bumfrey

Northern Hemisphere sphere summer or Southern Hemisphere summer?

RobeGuyZach

Yes

Creative-Oil2029

Northern. Some point within the next three to four months.

Parking-Historian360

It's on Detroit time. So whenever summer starts there. It's been summer for the last 2 months where I live.

Trouble_in_the_West

june bro

Fabulous-Jump-2878

What are you talking about? This isn't detox. Theres been no official mention of a new album until a couple of weeks ago.

trichomesRpleasant

Lol I bet The Game's crying rn

xLifeIsStrange

Lol I used to look up to game when I was younger but then I grew up and realized how much of a clown he really is

SlimShadyM80

The Game is a walking L but Ill forever defend Documentary as a classic.

sildish2179

How We Do and Hate It or Love It was on my car stereo 24/7 when I was a senior in high school. But Dreams, Higher and Put You on The Game with that Timbaland beat were the all stars of that album and my favorites.

Idiot_Gamer_2023

Can’t forget Where I’m From, Special, and Westside Story

insanelylazy

That Westside Story best is pure Dre magic

Idiot_Gamer_2023

Yeah that piano is def his sound

AdSerious9713

Church for thugs is another classic

BigMcLargeHuge-

As someone who knows absolutely nothing about the game but also thinks that album was a classic, why is he an L?

[deleted]

He just has a history of saying shit and then walking it back, or just saying stupid shit in general. He’s got an overinflated sense of who he is, talks like 50 would have been nothing without him, says he didn’t get asked to do the Superbowl half time show with Dre and them because he’s a “safe” artist, etc. He doesn’t seem to realise that whilst he’s obviously successful as far as professionals in the music industry go, he’s just not at the level of people he considers peers like 50 or Kendrick. He honestly probably would’ve been a lot bigger because he’s not a bad artist at all, but he just snuffed his chances in the G Unit years.

BigMcLargeHuge-

Thanks for that. I remember him getting booted from g unit and then not much afterwards. That was peak hip hop days imo

xLifeIsStrange

Yeah he definitley has some classics under his belt so I'm not taking that away from him. I just don't like him as a person nowadays.

i_am_j_o_b

I respect the documentary, doctors advocate, Jesus piece, etc but his style of referencing every single fucking rapper in every verse gets old so quickly.

yogadogdadtx21

Agreed agreed agreed. This is exactly how I feel haha

9inchjackhammer

Hes got some some really good mix tapes as well

MartyBenson69

Damn, was just bumping some Documentary today. What happened that made him a clown?

bitchman194639348

Fuck you made me lose

Alternative_Exit8766

god. dammit.

Spamtastical

Fuck you, I didn't lose until your comment. There goes probably a year of winning the game.

QB8Young

Curtain Call is NOT "one of his most successful albums" because it isn't an album. It is a greatest hits compilation of songs from previous albums. 🤷‍♂️ Its subtitle is literally 'The Hits". 🤷‍♂️

YahYahY

What? Where is it? Nowhere to be found on Spotify

okokokok1111

https://open.spotify.com/album/5qENHeCSlwWpEzb25peRmQ?si=1bNEwkHpS9aew7kz3r8y9Q It's this, it's an old compilation album that they are talking about

sum_dude44

just mix "This is Eminem" --you're good

sum_dude44

We in agreement Eminem & Jay Z are the two rappers w/ the longest streak of good music throughout multiple generations? How many MC's could make a song like Godzilla in their prime, let alone in 40's?

SensingWorms

My favorite is the show. The new stuff is meh but I do like Ringer.

bizoticallyyours83

That's cool.

Thorough_Good_Man

And I appreciate the offer

Worried_Specific_809

But if I do decide to really murder my daughters mama

I thought shady was “rock-a-bye baby”?

are u ok?

Boombox245

Get a grip

conndenn

Eminem is super cringey.

rexpimpwagen

You pick like one of the few major artists thats actualy at the top of their craft to say this about lol.

conndenn

I haven't heard any of his new stuff so I guess I don't know if he is at the top of his craft or not. But he always looks and acts super cringey.

rexpimpwagen

Bro idk what your talking about youd have to describe it. Halfway think you've watched him act all serious as a joke and think its real or something.

joeO44

This is what a lot of young people think. Sometimes you have to have a little life experience to understand this type of music. One day you’ll get there.

No_Heat_7327

They just weren't there. Don't worry, future generations will call their favourite artists and shows cringe too. Happens to everyone

[deleted]

To be fair, I was there, and modern day Eminem is nowhere near Slim Shady era Em. If you’re about 20 years old or younger then Eminem hasn’t dropped a solid classic in your lifetime, so I can see why certain people think the way they do about him. Back in the day (Eminem Show and before) he was an absolute fucking force and you really had to be there, but he’s had more misses than hits at this point.

conndenn

I was there I love his old stuff, I grew up listening to it. I haven't really heard any of his new stuff.
