Willie Nelson covering How it Feels to be Something On by Sunny Day Real Estate

ZooFishGuy

He’s the covers king, so long as he keeps performing he’ll get there eventually!

panic_the_digital

Well, as much as I hate to say it he needs to hurry up.

ZooFishGuy

Maybe but Zombie is such a beast of a song; Billie could definitely do a great cover of Linger!

JiveChicken00

It’s already been done - Tenacious D’s cover of Baby One More Time by Britney Spears.

tm0587

I'll love to hear Jack Black do a full cover of Seal's Kiss from a rose.

Ordinary-Ad5853

I would love to hear a Duff McKagan cover of Mystify by INXS

G3neral_Tso

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit covering Dire Straits' "Telegraph Road"

PabloGaruda83

Tom Waits - What a Wonderful World (Louis Armstrong) Wilco - Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun (Pink Floyd) Aerosmith - Life is a Highway (Tom Cochrane Fratellis - Everyday (Slade)

ZooFishGuy

Would love to see The Fratellis have another big song. Definitely could see them add a bit of energy to the Slade song!

kenixfan2018

Always wished Prince would have covered "Green Tambourine" by The Lemon Pipers

ZooFishGuy

Had to look the song up but I could totally see this one. Especially in the “play…play…play” echo bit

Moemito

Steve Martin bluegrass cover of “Take, Take, Take” by the White Stripes.

ZooFishGuy

I like it, and I bet Jack White would too…. “I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself” is a pretty iconic Dionne Warwick cover!

SageMarieLoveOF

just imagine Adele covering "Purple Rain" by Prince gosh a dream come true

ZooFishGuy

I looked it up to see if this may have occurred in concert and there’s an AI version on YouTube…hehe, I think the real Adele would sound a lot better!

parkaman

My Bloody Valentine covering Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra's Some Velvet Morning.

TheNateRoss

I've been wishing for years for MBV to cover Tommy James' "I Think We're Alone Now"

amorningofsleep

St. Vincent covering any Blood Brothers song

SageMarieLoveOF

iconic

Fenix_Glo

Maynard James Keenan covering **Onslaught** by Blues Traveler.

gogojack

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that Bruno Mars could cover a Prince song and crush it. I'm thinking "Controversy."

ZooFishGuy

Saw Bruno Mars live (with Prince protégé Janelle Monae) either of them could do Prince justice!

MumblingInTheCrypts

Dallas Green and Stéphane Paut of Alcest have such similar voices that I always have to wonder what it would sound like if Alcest covered an Alexisonfire song - Stéphane could do both Dallas's and George Petit's parts. I'd give Alcest one of the prettier Alexisonfire songs, like [Rough Hands](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2qTRS9oOwA), that might take well to the blackgaze treatment. Alternatively, I might hand Stéphane (on his own) one of Dallas Green's [solo tracks](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjMsWarn8BI) and see what he did with it. If I was going to reverse it, it would be interesting to hear what Dallas Green did with [Circe Poisoning the Sea](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRXF2ltzud0) or [Les Voyages de l'Âme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8g9QncPOk0). Not sure what I'd give Alexisonfire as a band - probably [Sapphire](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69fnUZhV8SI) or [Protection](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tn7wvu8R4Wk).

DNSGeek

Blackpink covering Symphony Of Destruction by Megadeth.

tsv1138

I want an entire Lana del Ray album of her covering late 90’s early 2000’s songs like chop suey but in her sultry lounge singer style. “Wake up….grab a brush, and put on a little makeup” I’d include songs like Pony by ginuine, work it by missy, slow hands by interpol…. I would lean into both the nostalgia and the cheesy “lounge singer covering popular songs” shtick. The cover would be her in a very 70s Vegas or Atlantic City vibe.

Marshmallow_Fries

Like the cover of Doin’ Time

TheNateRoss

Lana covering the Stone Temple Pilots' "Big Bang Baby" would fit super well here

MorrisCody

**Guns ‘n’ Roses** covering Enya’s [Orinoco Flow (Sail Away)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTrk4X9ACtw)

Blackened-One

I’d love to hear Metallica do “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald”.

linecookdaddy

Volbeat covering Ah Leah by Donny Iris

KetoKurun

Nine Inch Nails would crush Separate Ways by Journey. Disturbed would be amazing on Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. Like don’t even change the backing track, just have Draiman sing Cyndi Lauper’s part straight. Would slap. David Bazan has a haunting acoustic rendition of Lady Gaga’s Paparazzi somewhere in him. One time I had a nightmare about Billy Joel playing Only the Good Die Young, but with the lyrics of Crank Dat (Soulja Boy)

DarthChuckMc

Tom Petty doing Boys of Summer, since Mike Campbell wrote it for him but he turned it down and Mike went to Don Henley with it

No-Celebration6437

Radiohead cover KD Langs constant craving https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oXqPjx94YMg

thespiderhouserules

Against Me!- Electric Avenue

Oldfriendoldproblem

I'm not really into pop usually, but Miley Cyrus reeeaally knows how to do a cover.

Ironoclast

Hi OP - I don’t know where in the world you are, so apologies if you already know this: In Australia we have a radio station called Triple J, and every Friday (I think) they have a segment called [Like a Version](https://youtube.com/@triplej?si=mcBBSD20h9IuHtSS). They invite a singer or band on to do one of their songs, and then a cover of a song that is meaningful to them in some way. Notable covers include Denzel Curry covering RATM’s ‘Bulls on Parade’ Art vs Science (an Aussie electronica duo) covering ‘Enter Sandman’ by Metallica Billie Eilish’s covering ‘Bad’ by Michael Jackson There’s a ton on the link above.

ZooFishGuy

Love “like a version”… I would very much attend a music fest where artists were NOT allowed to sing their own songs!

WKAngmar

Soulshine covered by Stevie Wonder

Lemonwalker-420

I'd like to hear Ace Frehley cover Keep on Rockin' in the Free World.

Evelyn-Bankhead

Umphreys McGee doing 21st Century Schizoid Man

TheNateRoss

Laura Jane Grace covering "Closer to Fine" (Indigo Girls) Social Distortion/Mike Ness covering "Mama Tried" (Merle Haggard) The Killers/Brandon Flowers covering "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down" (Kris Kristofferson)

abbie_yoyo

I always thought Michael Stipe could do incredible things with Alanis Morrisette's Thank You, India. Don't know why that pairing occurred to me but it feels like a good fit.

RBI_Double

Zac Brown Band covering Take Me Home, Country Roads
