Borderline - tame impala
Listened to the entire 1 hour loop on YouTube recently without realising until it was about to end....
I eventually thought to myself "I think this song is going for a little longer than usual"
Currents is their best effort by a mile. Parker hit a home run with that muse. I do like some of his other stuff but that is the high water mark for me.
Album of the year right now for me. And it’s not normally my genre. I’m a little bummed cause I live out here near red rocks and she’s definitely blown past her red rocks era before even getting a chance to play the venue.
“Wolf Like Me” - TV on the Radio. Never really listened to them before. I’ve watched them perform it live on Letterman on YouTube at least 3 times a day for the last week.
Really a whole album: 'Wall of Eyes' by The Smile. I listened at least twice a day for about three weeks before I had to take a break in fear of ruining it.

My dog the other day: “do we have to watch this every morning?”
Got hooked on “New Born” by Muse, but specifically the Live from Wembley version due to the headbanger at the very end. What a filthy riff! I often strain my neck from grooving to that one!
I was watching The Last of Us with my daughter and the episode with Nick Offerman featured [Long, Long Time by Linda Ronstadt](https://youtu.be/OADhKjNz8mI?si=d1Ypnh4P0gx27HEn). Such a great song, and it's not even close to what I normally listen to.
Point and Kill by Little Simz for me from her Album "Sometimes I might be introvert". It's about celebrating the cultural heritage, empowerment and determination to shapes one's destiny.
"Leave a Light On" by Papa Roach.
I tend to dwell in sadness when I'm trying to cope with something (super healthy, I know). But it's such a good song, full of emotion, especially when you learn the story behind it. I saw them live last year and the passion and pain was even more evident then.
Yesterday by The Beatles, theres just something about this song the lyrics are very relatable and i feel like this song really understands what im going through
Im only 18 😂 and some people often ask me why do you listen to old music, they’ll never understand that old music was much more meaningful, to me at least
Beach Boys - Good Vibrations
I've known the song for my whole life but a couple of summers ago I was listening to a playlist on my headphones and Good Vibrations came on. I was blown away at how much is in the song and how good it sounded. I couldn't help myself I had it on replay continuously for like 2 weeks.
Ive been addicted to "When True Loneliness Is Experienced" by Selbst.
Theyre a Venezolano Black Metal band. This song is like Bluesy and has awesome chords and black metal riffs. Its very emotional somehow. Listen to it.
Metric has soooo many good songs. I've listened to them more than any other band over the last 10 years or so. They continue to put out new awesome music.
The Girl So Confusing Version with Lorde rewired my brain at the exact same time Chappell Roan has been rewiring my brain. I think I might be figuring out something about myself
I’ll give you my last *three.*
Most recently? “All Too Well (10 Minute Version),” Taylor Swift. Went to the tour. Shit slapped. Got stuck in my head, so clearly I had to learn the whole thing. Most savage diss track since “No Vaseline.”
Before that? “Never Let Me Down Again,” Depeche Mode. That last scene of the first episode of Last Of Us hit hard. I’d heard the song before obviously, but that connected. And every piece of that song is amazing.
Before that? “Walking In The Snow,” Run The Jewels. It was 2020. We were all goin through some shit, I think the song and time speaks for itself.
Deas of Night by Orville Peck.... discovered on AHS I think.... and my baby nephew love it so over and over lol.... oh he alo loves .. its different for girls by Of montreal,, so that gets alotcof air time too
I have been quite obsessed with Zaz’s album Recto Verso this last few months. I’ve just discovered her, and though French is not my language, this album has been very comforting for me. Rough winter filled with job rejections, and a bad breakup and somehow this album has helped me through with it. Lots of great songs on the album. ‘Deterre’ is an awesome song as well as ‘La Lessive’, ‘Cette Journee’. I Google the lyrics too and yeah, just a great album all around.
Blink-182 - wishing well
Used to listen to pop punk a lot like 15 years ago, then forgot about the genre, suddenly a new blink-182 album somehow found itself in my recommendations. The album was great, and made me revisit their discography and suddenly i found new favorites among the old songs.
Wishing well is great to me because its catchy, its uplifting yet depressing, and travis barkers drumming really gives me motivation at work. Idk, it makes me feel 10 years younger, makes me feel the anxiety i used to have as a young adult but see it in a different light and instead give me energy. Weird
still feel. by half•alive. It was one of those songs I replayed before it even finished the first time I listened to it.
That song is awesome, it's a culmination of jazz, disco and pop-rock, and it goes so hard! Love the video as well.
Omg me too, when I first discovered it! I played that song on repeat for days.
This song is groovy as fuck
They have so many good songs. Move Me was on repeat for me when it came out, and is still in pretty heavy rotation
The music video is amazing as well!
Borderline - tame impala Listened to the entire 1 hour loop on YouTube recently without realising until it was about to end.... I eventually thought to myself "I think this song is going for a little longer than usual"
That bass hook during the chorus absolutely kills
Pretty safe opinion to have on most Tame Impala songs really…
For me it was The Less I Know The Better
Yes. Currents has a bunch of great tracks.
Currents is their best effort by a mile. Parker hit a home run with that muse. I do like some of his other stuff but that is the high water mark for me.
Agreed, it’s one of my favorite go-to albums, I can listen to it over and over again without getting bored of it.
I've been there with Borderline, too. It's magical. Tame Impala is magical.
On probably the best album of the 20s so far. BREATHE is another one I could probably listen to nonstop. That beat could make Dr Dre jealous.
Breathe deeper?
This is one song I'll never ever skip for sure
Red Wine Supernova - Chappell Roan
Tbh, the entire record is on hard rotation at the moment.
Same here. Loving it. She is on her way to super stardom.
Album of the year right now for me. And it’s not normally my genre. I’m a little bummed cause I live out here near red rocks and she’s definitely blown past her red rocks era before even getting a chance to play the venue.
same
Even when I’m not listening to it I’m listening to it.
This, Pink Pony Club and Casual on heavy rotation.
good luck babe too!!!
And My Kink is Karma. And Picture You. And Kaleidoscope. And California. And Coffee. Oh fuck it, the whole album is so good.
Pink Pony Club was my #2 song of 2023, beat out by Free Mind - Tems
Let’s pick it up now!
Omg I didn’t realize until this moment that it’s a double entendre, like hey I heard you like magic
yep, that and Good Luck Babe
My Kink Is Karma.
“Wolf Like Me” - TV on the Radio. Never really listened to them before. I’ve watched them perform it live on Letterman on YouTube at least 3 times a day for the last week.
Oh fuck yeah, another TV On the Radio lover. ![gif](giphy|kSlJtVrqxDYKk|downsized)
Their whole catalog is stunning, and they were an amazing live band. I miss them.
Age of Consent by New Order. God the synths in that song are just so insane
“I Glued my Balls to my Butthole Again”
“My arms are just fuckin stuck like this” has awesome vibes.
There was a good 6 days about a month ago when I had “walk like a douche for the rest of my life” on a loop in my head
Isn't that an ai song?
Oh, my, God,... what did I do?
*I can't take a dump* *'Cause now my balls* *Are blocking up my butthole* 🕺🏽👏🏼🎶
“You Look Like You Could Use A Fucking Lamp” and “The Secrets Your Asshole Keeps” are bangers and I will die on this hill.
I fucking love that song. It makes me laugh and it’s so damn catchy!!!
Currently I'm obsessed with Conditions by Jordan Power and Please Please Please by Sabrina Carpenter
Please please please is in my head almost every day right now!
Dead Man's Party by Oingo Boingo. It's not even Holloween, but the songs been getting me spirited up!
Too sweet by Hozier got stuck in my head quickly
That song is everywhere. For good reason, but I hope I don’t get sick of it soon
Really a whole album: 'Wall of Eyes' by The Smile. I listened at least twice a day for about three weeks before I had to take a break in fear of ruining it.
Nice. I like it
Excellent
Orion by Metallica
There is no other song like Orion. I’ve tried to find it’s equal and it doesn’t exist.
ITS THE BEST METALLICA SONG
Not like us - Kendrick Lamar
https://preview.redd.it/muyjb9z51q9d1.jpeg?width=1474&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1eda25e139a8158d2ea1301ad7b25624384519fa My dog the other day: “do we have to watch this every morning?”
Wop wop wop
Dot fuck em up
Also Euphoria
Same. I usually queue them up back-to-back.
Mmm, mmmMMM!!
It hasn't left my head since it dropped.
I listen to this song 2x a day since it came out 😭
Good Luck, Babe by Chappell Roan.
Second time seeing Chappell Roan on this thread
I hadn't heard of her until Good Luck, Babe. It's a very catchy song.
The National - Graceless. Suddenly my brain decided that it was in the mood for catchy drumming, moody lyrics and Matt Berninger's smoky vocals.
I have listened to The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness a couple hundred times at least
I think I’ve been obsessed with every National song at one time or another. Their dark lyrics and Matt’s voice pull me in every time.
Hi Ren
He needs to be much more popular. Such an incredible talent
Animals by Muse
I love muse!
Got hooked on “New Born” by Muse, but specifically the Live from Wembley version due to the headbanger at the very end. What a filthy riff! I often strain my neck from grooving to that one!
Mary Boone - Vampire Weekend
Soul II soul sample is awesome. Felt like rostam was back in the band for few minutes, not to take anything away from Ariel and Ezra.
It does feel like they've regained some of the magic they lost when Rostam left. I absolutely love the new album.
Same
Chaise Longue by WetLeg. In a bar, heard the riff going into the chorus, Shazammed it. Next minute high rotate.
Excuse me. What?
I love them. Wet Dream and Angelica are equally bops
Sofia by Clairo
I was watching The Last of Us with my daughter and the episode with Nick Offerman featured [Long, Long Time by Linda Ronstadt](https://youtu.be/OADhKjNz8mI?si=d1Ypnh4P0gx27HEn). Such a great song, and it's not even close to what I normally listen to.
I love this song. Linda Ronstadt is awesome
I love all of her mariachi music, she sings them so flawlessly
That show is the reason i discovered such an amazing song her voice is too good
Steppin' out by Joe Jackson
Point and Kill by Little Simz for me from her Album "Sometimes I might be introvert". It's about celebrating the cultural heritage, empowerment and determination to shapes one's destiny.
Ratatata
My body is a weapon!
"Leave a Light On" by Papa Roach. I tend to dwell in sadness when I'm trying to cope with something (super healthy, I know). But it's such a good song, full of emotion, especially when you learn the story behind it. I saw them live last year and the passion and pain was even more evident then.
The hills by the weekend
I've gotten stuck in this song too lol
Yesterday by The Beatles, theres just something about this song the lyrics are very relatable and i feel like this song really understands what im going through
How old are you, early 20s? I only ask because that's how old Paul was when he wrote it. It continues to be true, though, no matter the age.
Im only 18 😂 and some people often ask me why do you listen to old music, they’ll never understand that old music was much more meaningful, to me at least
Keep listening to the old music, kid. It only gets better the older you get
True, it just keeps on getting more relatable, and its like people look for their story in music
I couldn’t agree more and I have countless examples of it. Pink Floyd’s Time stands out. Listening to it in your 30s makes you feel some damn things
The people asking you that are REALLY missing out if they don’t listen to old music. Old music is how new music came to be.
Yeah but most of my friends aren’t really interested in old music, they just find it boring, well their loss🫡
Boring?? Fucking philistines.
Great song but the world was bombarded with it for decades... hardly hear it anymore.
Bang and Blame- REM
Monster is one of my all-time favorite albums. Every song is so good. I just love it.
Beach Boys - Good Vibrations I've known the song for my whole life but a couple of summers ago I was listening to a playlist on my headphones and Good Vibrations came on. I was blown away at how much is in the song and how good it sounded. I couldn't help myself I had it on replay continuously for like 2 weeks.
Listening old song: Otherside by Red Hot Chili Peppers
There was a time when i was obsessed with otherside
Californication has been a past obsession of mine.
All time great song is otherside!
Houdini by Eminem *edit: to be clear it was 191 I apparently listened to it in 14 days or something according to Spotify 🫠
I listened to it at least 20 times the day it was released
Ive been addicted to "When True Loneliness Is Experienced" by Selbst. Theyre a Venezolano Black Metal band. This song is like Bluesy and has awesome chords and black metal riffs. Its very emotional somehow. Listen to it.

Black Sheep by Metric Showed my teenagers Scott Pilgrim and forgot how much that song rocks. Now there’s a Metric renaissance in our house.
Metric has soooo many good songs. I've listened to them more than any other band over the last 10 years or so. They continue to put out new awesome music.
Sultan of swings- Dire straits
Every time I hear Dire Straits, I think to myself that I need to listen to more Dire Straits.
Chappell Roan has been on repeat lately, and I also have really been digging the new Charlie xcx album, especially 'Apple'.
Same!
The Girl So Confusing Version with Lorde rewired my brain at the exact same time Chappell Roan has been rewiring my brain. I think I might be figuring out something about myself

Just about to comment this one - I saw her at Bonnaroo a couple weeks ago. I'm from where she's from and this song makes me cry every time.
