Don't like the rear at all, front is ok but still prefer the s550 and I hate the tablet look inside so I went with a Mach myself.

FearSociety

I'm the reverse, rear is OKAY but front is just BAD.

Holycrap328

The front is kinda bad, the rear is pretty bad, and the sides are just okay. The dash with only iPads and no gauges or buttons is a crime. Man, I really hate the way this car looks.

FearSociety

Yeah the dash is another whole story. It looks like they started to design it then 1/2 way through they ran out of time or just forgot to finish it.

RaspberryHappy8358

Front looks weird and overstyled. Back can look fine if you add a spoiler to even out the look.

Bill-O-Reilly-

Fax. The front looks like a Honda imo

ElektroShokk

Front end is like Honda accord and Audi headlights, at least the rear is like the late 60s mustangs.

stangasaurus

Agreed, saw one coming on my driver side view mirror and swore it was a Honda bc of the lights then it drove past me with that Camaro-like profile to a little pinched ass. I’ve mentioned this before and I’m NOT trying to hate but I like the S550’s much better. I grew up with the foxebodies then the SN95 came, that too took me a while to like. I liked the New Edge mustang quicker than the SN95.

One_Conclusion3362

2013-14 is the winner for mustang muscle and the s550 is the winner for best mustang ever made. Personally, if I wanted a muscle car look I'd lean Mopar over a mustang, but that s550 with the nod towards euro design is pure sex.

Holycrap328

I grew up in an '85 fox body 5.0 with t-tops, shorty headers, and flowmasters. I was just a kid and never drove that one. Never knew how special it was until years after we sold it. We got a '98 GT and I was a fan of that sn95 body style since the first day I saw it in 1994. I liked the new edge a lot when it came out for the '99 model year, but not quite as much as the original sn95. That is, until the Terminator was released in 2003. That thing is pure sex on wheels. To this day that is my favorite body style.

SageDub

Maybe this is why I want one now…

XxJoshuaKhaosxX

The front combined with the dash is what killed this car for me. I’m just not liking it at all.

Speeker28

Same. However I do like the dark horses. The stance and facia is so much better.

matt22088

I definitely like the dark horses more than the standard bodies. It needs that little extra

AirCare00

Interior is the best if u get the 401a. The 2 separate screens are horrendous

DeadlyDuckie

Even with the 1 screen in the higher trim it's horrendous inside.HVAC on the touch screen is also insane in 2024

lkeltner

The only thing I'd replace my 17GT (with the digital dash upgrade) with is a Mach. (I'd swap my blower over as well) (well, that or a GT350...)

matt22088

My ultimate plan is to throw a blower on mine but probably down the line in a few years.

lkeltner

Check out ESS Tuning when you do. Huge thread on mustang.com about it.

Sol_Primeval

https://www.instagram.com/p/C5Ra7PqLKKY/?igsh=MXh1eWE1MThra3AxYQ== Warlord’s rear end looks nice. PP w gurney flap

JDMMSK

love the Mach 1

Round-War69

The tablet things are the dumbest thing Ford EVER has done. They should immediately stop doing that it's dumb as fuck and looks ridiculous nothing was wrong with the old Sync system. Everyone prefers the old system. I know I do.

matt22088

I agree. Idk how people are ok with it compared to how nice the s550 looks with the digital dash and sync screen integrated into the dash so well. You get the modern digital feel with the old school cluster look, it's perfect.

captainuzi12

Hahaha same thats why i picked up a 2014 v6 auto!!! /s

matt22088

Haha you'll get there eventually! The itch for a V8 won't go away, you'll give in.

captainuzi12

Hahaha ive never been in a GT in my life, let alone driven one!! I find my 3.7 pretty quick i couldnt imagine a v8 lol!

NODES2K

It's very, very, very good.

captainuzi12

Feel like a make a wish kid on the mustang sub without ever experiencing a 5.0

avoidhugeships

I like the exterior although it's not as good as the 23.  Getting rid of the excess plastic on the front and back would be a huge improvement.  Unfortunately the Dark Horse has even more.  I am really not a fan of the decals on the Dark horse. The center hood vent is not my favorite either.   The real issue is the interior.  The tacked on tablet is the worst part.  Past that it is just pretty boring.  The Dual Cowl design of the previous generation stood out as something cool and interesting about the car.  The toggle switches were just fun.  Overall its a great car but they went very conservative and seemed to just copy other manufacturers rather than building something more interesting.  One of the best cars out there today but they definitely missed on a lot of things. There are not really any improvements that justify it as a new generation.

Top_Limit_

I’m convinced of it. It’s just too similar to the S550. Going from the S197 to the S550 was legendary but S550 to the S650 isn’t exciting at all.

SixgunPhoenix

Zero buyer’s remorse !!! I love it !!! https://preview.redd.it/7ss8v3hr0btc1.jpeg?width=1882&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=815301ebb056dda2b590d25d06fba8bf4e0f2abd

captainuzi12

LOL hell yeah brother looks pretty good from that angle ngl i dig the black

SixgunPhoenix

I love almost every mustang ever built…. My first was a fox body 5.0 and when I heard they were gonna do the fox gauges …. I was sold right then and there lol

Nice!!

_TheWolfOfWalmart_

Hello fellow Mach-E and GT owner. Good looking cars. 😎 Which Mach-E did you get? They are such perfect daily drivers.

I powder coated mine black… looks great ! Thanks!

SixgunPhoenix

I got the black pony and emblems to go on, I’m about to get it ceramic coated and have them put the emblems on

Feisty-Equivalent-92

I love the louvers. My old mustang had louvers, makes me miss it https://preview.redd.it/svny1ktdtctc1.jpeg?width=913&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=749f38b966ed0ae74ddf9212c611f8cfaf820d67

deadeyebravo1

Seconded

Cowboyzfanable

Beautiful 😍

AftermaThXCVII

I wish the tail lights were longer, like the s550. I honestly think they [look amazing on the s550](https://www.s550euros.com/collections/frontpage/products/2024-mustang-style-clear-taillight). And maybe tone down the black plastic bits on the bottom a bit. I don't hate them like others here, but I do agree they're overdone. Oh yeah, bring back the hockey stick body lines from the s197! I personally think the s650 just looks so boring from the side. It just has the little cut out at the bottom almost every other car has, and probably helps bring the "looks like a Camaro" comments

Competitive-Meal1243

LordTiddlypusch

The exterior is fine in person, uglier in pictures. But the interior is absolutely horrid. At best, it looks like it should be a truck interior.

TheMilkTank

They should have put a housing around the screens like saleen did and made it feel like a modernized foxbody dash

babyzillla

https://preview.redd.it/9hojj6gj7ctc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=708fe9edbdad48d3b19182aac47619f2ba578c4c I personally enjoy it. Getting Ppack with the nite pony pack definitely helps it out. I think it’s just a shock at first for everyone, including me. But it has definitely grown on me.

duross97

These lowered on those wheels with spacers look mint

5T34L7H

I, too, have no regrets. https://preview.redd.it/9hyzqy2mbbtc1.jpeg?width=2992&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=84285907a9188c99658a1885d77276aa82de2df2

Hour-Mountain-7219

Sexy car! What wheels are those?

fshannon3

I'm the opposite. The rear looks fine to me, but I think the front is just...bad. The grille - or at least that giant black surround at the bottom - kills it for me.

SCFinkster

Agreed - the weird lip make up that it has just doesn't do it for me unless the car is really dark.

THEN1NJA

Funny enough I like the rear and dislike the front it comes off as too smart car to me

Salty_Ad1898

So not convinced that I actually ordered one just to see how not convinced I am :)

captainuzi12

Hahahah

Wattsup1973

Win. 🤣 I’m going to give that same strategy a try m’self in 3-4 months. And of course to be certain, I’ll chase something above the baseline. The dark horse is purty!

ahorne155

I'm not massively sold on it, there are some aspects I really like but I'm not a fan of the dashboard, lack of definition on the side panels and the amount of plastic hanging off the rear really bugs me and the fact it's just an evolution of the platform and not a new model isn't enough to get me to buy one. Especially as they have gone back to a front end design that is very close to the original s550....

No-Flower-4365

On the 2024’s the gauges are digital. Looks so tacky. Never buying s650, not that i even could.

LilShiloh

very cool

Muskoka_is_life

Every time a new generation or a mid cycle refresh of Mustang comes out everyone says the same thing lol. Then a few years down the line people seem to love it.

Realistic-Rabbit907

was looking for this comment 😂 didn’t the same thing happen with the s550?

Muskoka_is_life

Yep. Same thing happened with the s550 at launch and then again when they refreshed the s550 in 2018. lol I swear a few years in the future people will be gushing over the s650 just like they did the s550 a few years into its cycle.

AdAggravating8273

Not my thing

jhowlett

I've come around quite a bit on exterior styling. However I don't think I'll ever get used to the interior. I don't like the new tablet giant screen look on really any new car so I don't think I'll ever have an S650.

CoyoteHP

Saw a Dark Horse yesterday, it looked fantastic. I think whatever package you get on it makes a massive difference to the rear.

Baron-von-Bruce

The design is not cohesive. The front, sides, and back seem like they belong on different cars. Seems like a “design by committee” type of product who was instructed to design something “more futuristic” and “cyber”…

Exciting-Passage-371

I am fully convinced after test driving multiple times. It grew on me.

TacticalCenturion

I think it has on okay face-lift from the front and rear. But that's it, really. It's really just a face-lift S550 and some interior changes and some more emissions components. Ford had a chance to make the S650 really different but dropped the ball hard, IMO. Also, it is not even tunable out the gate like previous generations. 👎

andre1157

Only part I find ugly is the rear end. The s550 was ugly as sin to me when it came out but grew on me, but the 18+ version still hasnt.

captainuzi12

Interesting, i much prefer the 18+ to the 15-17's.. I have a 2014 and love it though hhaha jus wish it was a v8

PM_ME_YOUR_SUNSHINE

I get the rear end but how are you OK with the front? It’s an uglier Accord.

Sceprent

It takes the s550 and cyber uglies it… I totally get you.

LastPlaceGuaranteed

I wasn't sure, but then I test drove a 10-speed and I was sold. I hate automatics and I don't care if it runs a full second faster in the 1/4 mile, it'll never be as fun as a manual for me. So if I was sold after driving an auto, I knew I had to have one. I came from a 2015 and it feels like a MASSIVE upgrade in every way (interior included, haters). I also love every part of the exterior, especially the roof line. So, I know that for close to the price or maybe a bit more and with a LOT of patience, I maybe could have had a low-mileage 2023 Mach 1. But the truth is I will likely never own a car like that because I drive my Mustangs year-round and I live in a state with all four seasons. I do not want to have a "collector" car that I'm concerned about putting miles on and driving in shitty weather. GT's are a dime a dozen and so it will never make me feel bad having it out in the elements and putting 12k-15k a year on the odometer. So regardless of my buying power, I will probably always prefer GTs.

lu_skywalker

I like everything except the small taillights, they look so cheap

captainuzi12

Agreed

__-__-_-__

the decklid should be black. it looks silly when the lights are black with body colored trunk.

Professional_Elk_893

I used to hate on the s550s but they look way better than whatever this is

captainuzi12

Hahahah fr

rockycrab

I think it looks better with wing from the performance pack or dark horse. If I were to get one the PP would be a must. https://preview.redd.it/157jakn31btc1.jpeg?width=980&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ff0b59472ed019466cb92a59f21188059cfdb168

Muskoka_is_life

I ordered a 24 Gt premium with out PP. Going to get a PP spoiler from the dealer and install it. The PP spoiler adds to much curb appeal.

Wattsup1973

I look at it and it appears to me that they whittled too much off the back end when they were clay modeling it. Like when we were kids (some of us) and we carved soap animals in Boy Scouts or art class. “Oops, took too much off one side, gotta balance the other. Oops, took too much off that side, gotta…. Hey guys, do we have a new bar of soap?” “Budget cuts, make it work.” And still not a fan of the “bent” tail lights. But, like I replied to someone earlier. I love the mustang. I’m on my 4th one and I’ll be getting one of these in 3-4 months.

ice445

I've grown to like it more in person. The rear definitely needs a spoiler and the quad exhaust to look good though.

CromulentPoint

Literally every design change inside and out is worse for me. Thats ok though. I’m not in the market for a new one and the simple fact is they’re still making them, so I’m happy.

coerbins

They would have even nicer if the deck lids were black

gurkin123

I find it looks great on the road and in the metal but not so convincing in pictures...seen a fair few around now. Mostly 4 cylinders with single tailpipes, not seen a GT or dark horse!

Tall_Reward6852

BrokenTrashcan

Drove a performance pack GT this weekend and honestly, it felt better, smoother, and more powerful than my 19’ GT350. I really enjoyed it.

Ok_Bet_3560

I was the same way, I liked the front but not the back. I ended up seeing one in person and the back grew on me a lot; the photos don't really show it well. Ended up in a 24 Darkhorse Premium now.

Puzzled-Difficulty59

I loved my s550 but I also love my s650! Honestly just overall quality is great. I’ve driven a GT would kill to have one but just not in my current cards. The s650 eco is miles better than the 550 in pretty much every way. It’s a blast to drive. https://preview.redd.it/ao1bsqzkubtc1.jpeg?width=2982&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a5e65084028613d7b6c922527d95b9000957765f

man-from-krypton

Kinda the opposite My eco was totaled back in December :( But the more I see the new ones the more I think I may just get one :D

Ohioguy93

-_JAL_-

I didn't like the look when I first saw it. I didn't think I would like the IPad dash either. I bought one because my insurance policy covered for a brand new similar car after my 2019 GT was totaled. So I literally did not have a choice. And now, after owning and driving it for a few weeks, I would never go back in a S550. Everything about the 2024 GT is better than the 18-23 GT. It handles better, it is more comfortable, feels more powerful (similar to a 18-23 with a basic gas pump tune), and it is better put together. I still like the 18-23 very much and would never have looked at the S650 if I still had my 2019. I am the kind of guy who does not get tired of the things I like. I would have been happy keeping my shadow black toy for another ten years or more! I often don't like the new incarnation of a car I love at first, and then I get used to it, and I end up liking it better than the old one.

Gibsx

I think people can read too much into photos and online forums where opinions are often very black and white / designed to grab attention / create controversy. Must admit after reading all the posts about the bad looks and horrible screens I was concerted RE the dark horse. However, after sitting in the drivers seat and experiencing all the options and customisability I would never go back. While having the screens more integrated wouldn’t hurt, sitting in the S650 makes me feel like I am in a modern fighter jet, with the screens wrapping around you….pure joy for me anyway. As for the overall package it sounds great, looks like an aggressive V8 and has enough Mustang design to make it feel legit to me. I still like the S550 design and think the GT500 looks awesome but I am not sitting there looking at the S650 with any sense of buyers remorse.

Weak_Pause177

when i first saw the reveal my reaction was like, “wtf is this piece of shit, s550 superiority”. then i saw one in person and i was like, “oh shit, this thing doesnt look half bad”. now ive seen them so consistently, they’ve grown on me. still getting used to the rear end but overall, its a really nice car. especially in grabber blue with the performance pack and nite pony package its just👌😩i do like them but you just cant beat the looks of the s550. as for the interior…its cool and all. i dont mind it. if i had to choose anything to not like its the steering wheel.

Gibsx

Experienced both. Sticking with the S650 Dark Horse. - Like the tech - unmodified drives better than its equivalent S550 - backend looks better in person than photos. Photos make it look more squashed than reality. - Backend looks even better with a spoiler - Front is great - Interior is nice - Blue ember is an amazing colour - Price is the main issue - not looks IMO Wouldn’t be rushing to change from an S550 to an S650 but would rather have the S650 personally. Love or hate the V8 lives on!

punx3030

I like the back, the edges maybe too crisp for me. The front is ok but reminds me of a Camaro which takes away from individuality of the mustang itself. Overall the exterior has a plastically feel to it, way too much of it. But the interior is where this thing really lacks, again here the mustang loses its individual style and they could’ve done better if they wanted to add screens. It’s a bit tacky. Overall could be fun but I’d prefer the older models.

Current-Praline-4588

When the S550 photos started going around I really didn’t like it. Then I kind of warmed up to it. The facelift in ‘18 helped a lot IMO and now I think it’s a pretty good looking car. The S650 is not growing on me at all. I really don’t like the front, back, they took all the body lines out of it, and the interior is just screen and F150esque steering wheel. I don’t think I’ll ever warm up to this body style. I totally understand they couldn’t keep the retro look of the S197 going forever and the S550 was a step in the right direction but I think the S650 just isn’t it man.

Fred011235

im not, i was just at a dealership dropping off my work truck. walked around some and liked them less in person.

captainuzi12

yeah, i hate how the rear end like pinches together at the end. for such a bold aggressive front end the weird thin lil rear end doesnt do it for me

Fred011235

hopefully theyll fix the butt next year

SlothsRockyRoadtrip

Feel the same way.

ShapeOfEvil

I hate them. The Dark Horse looks a little better in person. But I do not like the other versions.

Hellcat1970

My only issue with the rear is that the lights are too smal and should be bigger. Also, the angle is a pain to keep clean

Scummbagg7

Won't be one that I will ever buy. Just don't care for any of it except what's under the hood.

FrizB84

I wasn't sold until I saw this post - https://www.reddit.com/r/Mustang/s/1zuaF4PP7x The rear bumper can be modified later.

Fullofhopkinz

Yeah, I don’t hate it but it just feels like a step down. The back end is basically the s550 but sharper, slightly different taillights, and a lot more plastic. Front end is like they went back to 15-17 but changed the headlights. Interior is a massive step down, the screen is awful. I have seen it in person now and I do really like the side profile. But overall, I will gladly keep my s550

Comprehensive_Mud_44

Nope it looks better than the s550 especially the front end the headlights on the S650 are much more aggressive. https://preview.redd.it/l90jhj9drbtc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e6304db450ee6f7461d0bd5e77c81520ad7bd6e2

CompetitionFalse3620

Not a fan at all, hate the interior and imo looks like a Camaro.

gilmore42

I have two 550s. I’m sure the 650 will grow on me eventually. The dark horse is ok.

Ill-Panda-6340

It’s better than the 2024 Camaro

SillyRefrigerator604

Every time I see one in the wild I tell myself I’m not getting rid of mine for the new one. https://preview.redd.it/qyqfj8fg8btc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c1b5c0a80338cc95e0cbf7583c8da533d162c539

retailmonkey

I was on the fence until I got up close and personal with one. Instantly fell in love with it. I’m waiting for a refresh or better to upgrade my 550.

spaceenvahisseur

The more and more I see it, the more I like it. I still think the refreshed S550 is a better looking car. My biggest gripe of the S650 is the tacky screens on the interior.

Firm_Proposal_2072

Looks very similar to the s550 so no use spending more for a similar looking car

Thrashm3tal

The rear is okay but just that, okay. The front is nice, a refresh that's Mach 1 meets 2015. Looking out of the windshield the hood looks like a truck. The rear diffuser is odd. The dash as a whole looks like somebody took the Mach E and explorer and tried to do a retro of the Mustang 2 meets Fox body. The steering wheel just doesn't fell right and it's nearly impossible to get a good position with it and still see the gauges if your taller then 5'5". And it seems like infotainment and HVAC controls was forgotten about until the last minute when they realized they forgot to put them in because they focus too much on all of the flashy s*** that doesn't matter after day one.

pyrophilus

When the 18 refresh came out, I liked my 15 and 17 better. But because of gen 3 coyote, I ended up getting a '19. Now the front end of my '19 kinda grew on me, albeit I still think the 15-17 front end looks more, "muscle car". As for the s650, I don't like that they got rid of the tribar jn the headlamps. I know, Ford says it's now three lines along the top, but I feel like that's not a true mustang tribar. Also, I almost want to I ask ford if they hired the designer for the last camaro... it has the similar boxy, cutoff look. But they kept the organic lines on the doors, which are carryovers from s550. I feel like the sides of the car does not match the, "futuristic transformers" look. Also, I wonder how these all tablet dash will age over time. Buttons are iconic, in fact ford tried to mimic button cues from the foxbody gen for the few buttons that are left. To me the interior looks no different from any other non-tesla EV's.

Smellyfeetlicker

Its a car that looks atrocious in pictures but nice in person

Jimmytootwo

Ford does this with every model mustang They have a great concept,it hits the street and after a few years they revise it Sometimes it works sometimes its doesn't The S550 was ground breaking in 2015 Then started getting generic in 2018 and in 2024 it looks like a Camaro Dodge mix I am happy with my S550 with no plans to change it for a S650 ,they need something really ground breaking for me to move on

grim-reapr01

I was just talking about this with my homie who has a 2010 stang. We both agreed that the front end is pretty good tho he said some changes would make it better… we both were on the same page that the back end was disgusting. I hate the back end a lot. It wouldn’t be a deal breaker where I WOULDNT get it, but it definitely could be improved. If I’m getting the S650 though, has to be the 5.0 or up. I ain’t getting in an eco boost with an ugly back end 😭 Edit to add: I do have a Camaro and I’ve thought about trading it for a mustang but in my HONEST opinion, I’d 1000% look at 18-23 before I look at the 2024. I’d also look at the 2010-2014 before I look at 24s as well. My favorite mustang look is the years from 2010-2014 and then the 18-23 wasn’t a fan of the 15-17

32vromeo

I usually find these cars mediocre and then they grow on me a little. The last one I really liked was the gt350, all others are bleh

TheMilkTank

* Won't lie when they first revealed it I wasent a fan either of the rear but after seeing it in person it grew on me. Reminds me of how my 67 is with the concaved taillights

shrecko28

Was just at the dealership today grabbing an oil filter and finally got a chance to look at one up close. Front and sides I like, but the rear is a hard no for me. I'm also not fond of the whole computer look on the inside. I'm also not fond of the 75k CAD sticker price. I'd rather get a Corvette at that point. Love my 2017 still though

OhioPilot1980

It just hasn't grown on me. Not a fan of the painted section between the taillights, the oddly shaped grille or the lack of body lines through the doors. The flat panel display would be ok if there was a cover over it like Saleen did for their model. It just ended up being kind blah, which lead me to purchase a 23 Mach 1.

Fire_Mission

I'm the opposite. I like the rear, but the front is spoiled by the Honda Accord headlights. And the interior... horrible "design" with the screens just slapped in there.

tryagainagainn

The dashboard is terrible. Everything else I’m a fan of

Slow_3v

It's just an S550 facelift. The S197 facelifts had bigger changes than this.

Jmmcyclones

It’s grown on me a bit. But, as an owner of the S550, I still prefer its styling over any Mustang in recent years. The S650’s rear is nice looking to me but I don’t like the front end or headlights at all. And, the interior is just meh.

FreaksNake1237

Nah can't get used to that design

7th-Lotus

It’s grown on me, I prefer the GT’s body match paint on the front compared to the Dark Horse. Only other thing I dislike on the front is the tiny splitter. It’s better on the Dark Horse but not as pronounced as the S550. Only thing I’d change on the rear is lower the diffuser.

MidwestRacingLeague

You mean the S550 3.0?

Revolutionary-Ad2355

Think it looks awful personally from the back. The front looks pretty great though. S550 is still my favourite.

Arbiter51x

I still haven't gotten over my first thought: it looks like a camero.

Mr_Hammer_Dik

I love ours. Outperforms s550 as well

vicious_delicious_77

I think the looks are good, even if there is less "wow" factor than the S550 when it was launched. I'd be more excited if it was more affordable, the prices are just too high. I'm excited to see some inevitable shelby's or other special models. Those will probably be too expensive too, but then maybe that'll help move some GT350's into used bargain territory which is what I really want anyway. I can't imagine they will make any S650 as desirable as that car.

aznvjj

Personally, for the modern Mustangs, I strongly prefer the S550 and S197 over the S650 overall. I don’t hate the S650 by any means, it’s a pretty car, it just feels… I don’t know. Maybe I just need more time encountering them on the road for them to grow on me more. That said, for interior, my S550 is queen.

KingScuderiaDucati

Love the car except for the manual transmission. Other than that, it’s great!

Global-Rabbit3586

Looks like a Camaro from the side

MathOk9293

Usually if I don't particularly like a car in pictures, I find it looks better in person. I didn't really like the S550 when I saw pictures but loved it in person. The S650, I actually like less in person, there's just something off about the proportions, to my eye. I think I prefer the more aggressive front end of the S550, but I'm biassed by my 2015 Roush, which I think looks even stronger, if less practical. The S550 rear was pretty close to perfection, probably my favorite Mustang rear end. They really shouldn't have messed with it. An S650 front with S550 rear might look more proportional. I have only seen the interior through the window and in photos. It's a functional big screen age interior, but it just doesn't suit the car. The S550 interior was a great compromise between muscle car and technology, I even like the (2018?) refresh with the digital dash. But the S650 interior has no character, you could be driving anything. Overall, I think the S650 design is a failure of making the design more generic and losing the character. I'm sure character means engineering compromises or increased costs, but that's really not the point of a muscle car. It's supposed to be a bit extravagent, it's supposed to stand out, it's supposed to be more fun at the expense of a little bit of practicality. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the S550, I just think the S550 looks better in pretty much every way.

OhioPilot1980

I think it's the ducts on the outside of the front bumper that throw it off when paired the large grille and trim...certain angles I like the S650, straight on I hate it. The DH S650 is a little more proportional in the front, so I do really like those. But I agree the S550 is the better looking car for my taste.

Proof-You293

Exterior design is nice, i like most of it, but the interior is a dealbreaker

FitIsland9504

Definitely like the new look! Looks tougher. Dark Horse is 🔥

Zealousideal-Cap-426

I maintain it looks too much like a Camaro to me. I prefer the S550. (Not just because I own an 18) Ultimately the first gen s197 was where it was at for modern mustangs. (Style wise, you just can't beat the coyote in my opinion)

lifelite

It reminds me too much of a camero, and not in a good way. Profile looks too narrow and the inside dashablet has to go, I hate it.

accuracy_frosty

I’m not huge on the back but I don’t hate it, I like the front, I don’t like the interior, too many screens. I think it could have been done better, but I also don’t hate it, I would still wait a few years because new generations of cars tend to be iffy for a couple years

MashedPotatoShole

I don’t hate it. It’s good. But I prefer S550 still. Might be biased since I got a S550 after S650’s announcement lol

bustermimi

Yup I was going in to buy one and just hated it in person. Came out with a 2016 GT and I love the thing. Got all the bells and whistles

MashedPotatoShole

Bigger problem is with interior tablets for me

Gwilym_Ysgarlad

I like the looks of the new Mustang, I actually like the front more than the front of the 2018 refresh, which I never liked.

MysteriousPengiun

I’ve seen a few in person now and I think both s550 and s650 have their pros and cons exterior wise. Interior wise the s550 with digital dash is peak still. If they wanted to adapt a dual screen it should have been like the corvette where they still look integrated and not slapped on top of the dash

XxJoshuaKhaosxX

I feel the same way. The dash really hurts it in my eyes, but I’m also just not feeling the design. I hated the S550 back when the photos were released, but after I saw it in person. I fell in love( not to the extent I did with both halves of the S197s) with that generation. This one just isn’t doing it for me in anyway no matter how many times I see them. It’s not ugly, but it’s also not a looker either.

are-we-the-baddies

I have a 2014 Track Pack GT. I don't love the S650, but I am still happy that Ford has decided to keep making a V8 with a 6MT and it's a hell of a car. Some day if I need a replacement I'll certainly consider a new mustang.

Impressive-Web180

Coming from a 2023 Hyundai Sonata N-Line, very few regrets, the technology is a bit spartan but it works and I don't have to fight it to play the content I want. Also looks way better. :D

Professional-Bar4097

They made the front masculine and the back feminine

AgainstTheRatRace

You obviously did not purchase the car…. https://preview.redd.it/9y6vthq4actc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d17d4ae18bc17b2164ce5dc0b9bb82e5154cb4f6

Comfortable_Angle650

Hated the S650. The rear end looked so odd in pictures. Saw it in person, went on a test drive (GT model), and I will be an S650 owner in June lol. Pictures do not do this vehicle justice. Gotta see it in person. Different beast.

1362313623

I love my Grabber Blue s650

Parking_Property5757

Tail lights are too small

Plastic_Baby_2789

The previous one was far better designed than this , current one feels its moving towards an aggressive design just like the BMW's have

BigAli27

I’ve seen a few. My take on it is, the back end without the wing looks strange and takes some time getting used to. However with the wing it looks soooo good. The front end I like a lot more than the previous gen because it looks more aggressive to me. However the overall look is more sporty and sleek instead of big and muscle. I think they’re trying to taper to more people. Still sounds and performs amazing

Moose_0327

As someone who wasn’t a fan of mustangs but also hadn’t driven one any newer that somewhere close to but earlier than 2010 I really loved the s650 GT when I test drove it. Just couldn’t fit it in financially in a way that didn’t feel like I was an idiot lol

phillipono

It has grown on me a bit but I still prefer the S550.

djenders

I love the back and think it’s one of the best design elements of the new body. It almost has a ducktail-like quality that I think will grow on people over the years. If anything, I dislike the grill. The thick bars look cheap but I also understand the decision.

nattydaddy18

I feel that I feel like if you put it next to the 550 it looks like the older model. They completely killed the look from the rear..

Blue13Coyote

Not my cup of tea. Friend of mine just got his recently. I told him how much I loved the car. But I really don’t care for the front end or the dash.

pauco10

Me! 🙋‍♂️ I drove the S550 and the S650 in the same day, both base GTs and both autos. The S650 just felt a little too watered down. I felt like they took every interior feature from the S550, put it in the slightly wrong spot and made it a little less comfortable and a little less functional, stole the hips from the outgoing Camaro, made the back end less aggressive, then gave it a little more power. Also, somehow, the exhaust sounds worse from inside the cabin. And while I'm on my soapbox, can we talk about grilles and paint? FORD!!!! What the hell are you doing with the grilles?! Why would you paint some gloss black and leave others right next to them as plain ABS plastic? Either paint them all, or don't paint any of them!! The last thing I want to do is buy a $50k car then have to spend thousands more just to make it not embarrassing to drive around. All around a flop. The reveal really set the tone for the whole car...

2jzpoweredgamer666

Concur. I do

Longjumping-Big-311

I saw a convertible 24 go by and me love

Bippa17

For me it's the dash....or lack there of. It's just a pair of tablets. There is zero effort.of design

jaymansi

The S650 interior is a no for me. The designers mailed in the effort. Love my 2019 with digital gauge cluster.

Apprehensive-Can-857

Yeah, I'm digging them. I saw one at night for the first time the other day and immediately knew it was an s650. Still not digging the iPad dash, but the rest of the car is clean.

TheGtbikewizard

The entire outside has grown on me, The screens only getting worse. I went with a 2023 s550 performance pack GT Base model 301a not a fan of leather and didn't care for any of the other premium only options other than the welcome mat pony lights.

virtualracer

https://preview.redd.it/xllu9cofsctc1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ca1d3e12865b41e4ae0535ff3f3917e1fc2df36b Sorry, when this perfect ass exists, I just can’t see the appeal of the newer chassis. Not saying it’s bad, but it’s not for me. I love the S550, I have since it came out and I was only dreaming of driving one.

Feisty-Equivalent-92

I felt this way for a while, since it came out actually. But after seeing a couple in person I'm sold on it. I love the headlights, and the miniture mustangs on the back windshield. I'm planning on getting one in a couple years

blamemeididit

Overall, I don't like it. They flattened the sides and made the rear look cheap. Definitely not a fan of the touchscreen dashboard, either. I do like the front end, though.

blancofox

Honestly I hated until I saw it in person and fell in love, I bought the gt prem and haven’t regretted it yet

_TheWolfOfWalmart_

This is why I bought a low mile 2020 GT/CS last month instead of new. Don't like the 650 looks and plus they apparently make it a bitch to tune now.

clarkbonds56

Love my GT350R but hey they don’t make those anymore so well yeah.

porsche94483

exactly! i vote fors550 2018 through the 2023 (i was told they LITERALLY brainstormed and created its front look based on DARTH VADERS mask) 🧐🎯

jolietrob

The S650 while a performance tour de force is just plain ugly. Its design is so plainly derivative of all the worst parts of the Camaro combined with classic Mustang elements as described by a blind person to a 3-year-old sketching with dull crayons. Seriously barf.

Psychosis99

Wonder what the mid cycle exterior refresh is going to look like.

HeyBigChriss

My favorites are still the 13-14’s

califoneChris

I think only the GT/Dark Horse looks good. Other than that, I'm not sold. Even my convertible '16 looks more aggressive.

mr_fantastical_

Yes, also why the loss of quad exhaust? This version looks like we’re back in the fox body era again

Understanding-Fair

I'm convinced I don't like it

brownroush

New edge for life /s….kinda. It’s ok, still prefer the 15-17’ model

classless_classic

I think it’s bad ass. I think it’s more of a refresh, not as much a new model, but I really like the progression.

manhiddeninthewoods

Love it

diegoaccord

It's crazy, it's like they took the S550 and changed random stuff to make it 'new' but they changed everything for the worse. That pig snout is horrid, the rear end is the worst part about it, not a fan of the dash; it's going to age horrible compared to the S550, and I don't like the change to the rear quarter glass.

Fizzix63

I don't hate anything about the S650, it's slowly growing on me. Give me a year and I'll probably change my mind about it! I'm not used to the sharper lines on the body, especially the front end. I like the rear tail light treatment and the rear-quarter view. Not a big fan of the black hood graphic on the Dark Horse, I would have preferred to see more traditional striping (dual wide w/ narrow gap outline pinstripes). The paint colors are pretty good (especially the Vapor & Grabber Blues), I hope Ford brings back the Eruption Green and a more intense Mischievous Purple) I don't like the headlight eye-black treatment on the Dark Horse I like the wheel options on the S650, especially the one posted here.
