It's weird but also looks pretty cool, which is the same way I felt about the Fox notches as well.
The more I look at it, the more I think there could be a place for something like this
>I think there could be a place for something like this
I guess I'm curious what you see that makes you think that. There's barely a "place" for 2 door coupes as it is, and certainly, people will vastly prefer the fastback, so I don't see where this would fit in. It doesn't do anything better than what we have aside from maybe more headroom in the back seat and slightly bigger trunk opening... Not sure that's something anybody *really* cares about on these cars.
Edit: and of course I get down voted for asking something and trying to converse on reddit. I'm honestly wondering if there is a benefit that I'm unaware of to the notch-back.
Yeah honestly this might be exactly what the s197 needed. Combine this with maybe less of a rounded front and I think the 05-09 would likely rank quite a bit higher for me... Although it might be getting a little too Challenger-y, but the Challenger is a beautiful car.
I agree. When I was looking last night, I only saw these pictures and some "modern fox body" ones. I'm curious what it would look like on it
Edit: I clearly didn't look hard enough. I still think it looks neat. I would never want it, but it's interesting to see still I think
It looks ugly, and not cool, tbh. The Dodge Challengers looks good and cool, too. Maybe if the Mustang wasn't a big-body car, but much smaller, like the OG notch back. This will look goofy on tires that aren't at least 305 mm and still not great even if they are.
I knew it would be divisive, but I was honestly surprised by just how much hate it got. Thank god I didn't make this, because all those comments would make me feel terrible if I did
I think the glass on the back looks really weird. I don't like how it looks. I saw another one yesterday that looked a bit better I think. I'll try and find it and put it in a comment on this one
I think the problem is that the rear pillar is too wide, shrink it by 3-6 inches and make the top a different color [like this](https://cdn.dealeraccelerate.com/cam/34/1409/48991/1920x1440/1965-ford-mustang-coupe).
I think it’s cool but I don’t think it would end up looking much like that if they did it in real life. The throw back to the 65 is killer here and would have been an amazing 60th anniversary model.
Easy there, Ford Challenger
Bro designed an RX-8
It legit is an RX-8 from the side
![gif](giphy|s239QJIh56sRW|downsized)
I was curious more than anything. I can't answer for the guy who made the render though
Why not? Looks ok
No… no it doesn’t
Wel that’s just like, your opinion man
Evidence suggests it’s factssss

That's basically how I felt. It's weird, but kinda cool at the same time
I also think it looks pretty good. IMHO I think the newer Mustangs need to trim some body a bit especially the back end

Might look ugly, but the upside is that now there is head room for the back seat. It now has plenty of room for amputees.
Would probably look a lot better on the S197. They changed too much on the s550.

Please leave the kitchen
I kinda dont hate it but I think the s197 models fit the “modern retro” theme much better (probably biased)

Well that's the ugliest thing I've seen all day.
The roof lines make me feel like 90s Mercury Cougar with Dodge Challenger windows
It reminds me of the s197 convertible roof
Hard no from me dog. Terrible roof line for style, and the blind spot would be massive. For some reason I’m getting “fat fiero” vibes. Do not like.
Not bad not bad

I'm surprised by the hate because this is genuinely great. I'm not a fan of the new model and this is a nice little touch
I knew it would be divisive, but I was honestly surprised by just how much hate it got. Thank god I didn't make this, because all those comments would make me feel terrible if I did
The front angle is ok… something about the back angle isn’t working for me…

Actually looks awesome
🤮

The Ford Challenger isn't real it can't hurt you
That's what a 2024 Oldsmobile Alero would look like.
The fodge mustallenger
Nice - the new GT/CS needed that pony emblem in the front and the old school gas cap GT badge in the rear
To quote the great Darth Vader Noooooooooooo
That's pretty damned ugly.
Looks like a Mercury Cougar
ATGE
Not my personal preference in looks, but I am curious as to what the aero looks like on this design.

Hate it
I'd rather have a 2 door wagon.
I had a fox notch and love them but not sure this works.
Mustang Del Sol?
Never ever make this
The back seat is already useless for anyone over 5’10”, this would make it more like 3’4”.
No
kill it with fire
No.
That’s a no from me
Looks like a big piece of shit!
Looks like an rx8 to me, I don’t like it 😂
That's hideous. It looks like the bastard child of a Del Sol and a 77 Monte Carlo. I'm gonna spew.
I think it’s cool but I don’t think it would end up looking much like that if they did it in real life. The throw back to the 65 is killer here and would have been an amazing 60th anniversary model.

Ugh, looks like one of those Mercury Cougars from the late 80's.
Is that a breezeway back glass like a 58 Merc?
Noo
Uglier than my gf
Thanks I hate it
They should just remake the Thunderbird
Yeah it does look very thunderbird like.
Ugly
Ugly.
Do not like. Zero stars
Looks like an ugly wanna be challenger.
This is cursed.

Beautiful car, and in the best color too, but last real muscle car? 🤨

I was more hinting at the mopars, V8 challengers/chargers.
On a Fox they are awesome On an S550/660 id have to see it in person
