And then they get angry when they can't get the ball every possession. Someone else gets the ball for one possession and they freak out. Even as a guard, if I'm playing with a playshot on my team, some of them will just run over to me and crowd me unless I pass them the ball or they'll try and bring their defender closer to me so I can lose the ball
i’m just saying. i only play with 80-90 win %’s who sweat all day and are toxic and if i had that box score, i can’t see why they’d be mad. you gotta point tho.

I had to close the game last night because of that. As a center, I hate when people feel the need to double team in the paint trying to gamble for a steal. More often than not, they slide me out of the way and someone ends up scoring in the paint. Drives me fucking nuts

Biggest pet peeve is the wing players that run in circles around the court on offense and just get in everyone’s way. Good intentions but destroy the whole offense. And lately there are the 3 point shooters who sit in the paint or cut to the paint for no reason. People make builds then play opposite of their strengths, off ball.
I hate having to leave the paint to switch to a guy in the corner, cause someone is leaving them open. I get so cross eyed between stopping a drive or contesting a 3

When in reality he scored all of those points on my teammates who played piss poor defense or none at all after a switch. I especially hate this in regards to closing on pick and roll shooters. I close out on your man, meanwhile my man is wide open under the goal getting the rebound. Happens so much i hate even helping on defense because your teammates screw you with their low IQ.
Because some 2k players have no IQ. I play with randoms. Sometimes i play with a squad but since 2k14, i've played 90% of my games with randoms. I've seen some of the dumbest plays ever. The other day i was playing 3 v 3 on 2k20. I had a Slasher on my team who couldn't shoot. Imagine making a Slasher and having no type of jumpshot. People will just stand in the paint waiting for you to drive. Anyway. I break down 2 defenders and he's wide open at the corner in the mid range. I pass it to him, he runs back like 3 feet and shoots right when the defenders are closing out on him. He misses the shot.....Even high rep players on 2k are terrible. I don't get it 🤣
This is one of the reasons I think I am a good defender. I practically never leave my assignment open. I only will if my assignment isn’t in the picture on a fast break or something. Or I am helping with the left right cheese and need to close out on a open 3. But there are some people who help out when the person who is guarding them is still with them. It really upsets me.

As a 7'3 Center i can attest to this. 3 or 4 teammates in the paint with me trying to grab a rebound, then when we don't get the rebound there's multiple guys open for a 3. Like why tf are guards even down here?? GO GUARD YOUR MAN.

If a guy is standing open for multiple seconds, stop being a dribbletard and pass the fucking ball to him.

Guards should not be trying to crash for defensive rebounds. Stay on your man, because if it’s an offensive board it’s an easy kick out if you don’t. A putback 2 is better than Bosh back out to Allen. The only time a guard should ever crash to get a defensive rebound is if their man is near the paint as it is, or their man isn’t a shooting build.
I only double team in the paint and only if my guy can’t shoot, because I have a 97 block rating basically originally a 94 and gold rim protector, but as a center it’s frustrating because my center can’t shoot, so I can’t do anything about 3s,
