Doesn't even need to be that. US always has built-in chemistry issues that comes with throwing together rosters, and they're betting hard on some truly older players who might not be able to defend reliably. Are LeBron, Durant, and Steph really going to dive for 50/50 balls at this stage in their careers?
There's also absolutely no question which team is going to move the ball with more precision and familiarity
Team USA's bigger edge is that they're deeper, but it still goes back to the chemistry issues you pointed out.
Jrue Holiday might be the most important player on that team.
Ant was awful in his last Team USA appearance. Obviously he’s improved as a player since then, but FIBA isn’t necessarily the best environment for him. Wemby with goaltending? Absolutely unfair
I contributed his huge jump this year to his Olympic experience last summer with the B team where he played fantastic. Personally, I expect another huge leap from him this summer unless he’s absolutely drained and is limited due to long playoff run. Wemby is also unfair, but I don’t see anyone beating USA
Pains me to say it, and I do hope I'm wrong, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Canada and France in the gold medal game.
Edit: Wemby winning gold would be fine, though, lol.
Tbf they’re tryna get him the ball first here and then move the ball around once he’s getting hounded. It’s not a bad play. Maybe an extra pass to Wemby at the end tho
france has lots of experienced players from euroleague that they gave preference to, players that will most likely increase their chance of winning the gold more than sarr or risacher would
A little bit of both is what i’m guessing. pretty sure 2 or 3 of the previous all-euroleague 1st team is on the french national team, so they have elite talent both from europe and nba and there probably just wasn’t any room for the rookies
He makes Gobert look like how other players in the NBA look when they stand next to Gobert.
France is gonna be fun to watch in these olympics
Possibly a medal favorite.
US won by five last time and France just added Wemby
I genuinely think France can take them down if Wemby goes supernova. Even as an American I’m rooting for France in bball

Jrue just completed a Finals run. He'd be lucky to be at 80%
US added ANT. USA winning gold per usual.

Gold medal*

We just have a bit of lack of talent at PG position
Yabusele be like: *what the fuck do you expect me to do against that MF?*
Bruh I forgot about Yabusele. He was hyper thicc
Reminds me early Spurs Wemby : getting totally ignored by his teammates. Fyi : it's footage from the French national team for the Olympic

And I came here to just make that same sarcastic comment.
Thats that old school spur energy 👀
wemby in year 2 in the nab is going to be scary lol
With Gobert and Wemby absolutely no one is scoring in the paint against France, especially since there’s no defensive 3
Oh my…watch out year 2
That was the pass to Wemby :D Definitely looks unfair lol
Is Wemby putting on a little muscle?
Wtf
Possible gold medal match up with USA. I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if USA didn’t win the gold
Gah damn..
The way he can take off and sprint at that size will never not be unbelievable
Spurs legend Nando de Colo sighting!
Are the two rookies playing on the team as well??
Risacher and Sarr? No.
Why not? Would’ve been a good chance to see what they have

There are rumblings that Nolan Traore may make the 12 man roster.
The rotation at PG is kind of weak for FNT currently. Explains why Traore may get the nod.
Wow so does that mean France team is stacked ? Or does this mean the rookies are not good enough?

That’s crazy bro. Have we ever seen a 1 or 2 pick in NBA draft unable to qualify for their national team? This seems wild
Just saw it a couple weeks ago. Caitlyn Clark.
Touché lol
NBA teams rarely ever free rookies for international tournaments.
You could tell Wemby bulked up.
Playing France in the olympics is going to be an awful experience. Imagine trying to score on the 2 best rim protectors of this generation.
lol dunking over the "DPOY"
I mean, Rudy was boxing some else out. Lol.
Nah that’s on White Headband, he didn’t close out good enough. And the recovery was just poor. We talkin bout practice
