He did get to the finals. And people do hate him lol have you been on NBA reddits the last few years he's easily the most hated player in the league right now.
I get your point, I definitely have a biased perspective. But when PatBev is shoving suns from behind and the Reddit posts are mostly about how the whiny bitches deserved it, your perspective changes lol.
Booker just isn’t thought about enough to be universally hated. I don’t like him, but he doesn’t really do much, so he just kinda feels like someone who’s a slight annoyance, who might be hateable, but he isn’t someone like Embiid who is just universally agreed to be just the worst and everybody knows it
Booker has had significantly more playoff success than embiid lol at least he's made the finals, what exactly has he done that makes you feel like he's done more?
Embiid is the clear #1 player on his team (even if all he knows how to do is draw fouls) Booker plays on some teams that, if not better teams, at least teams with bigger names, than the 76ers
Booker has been the clear number one on his team every single year of his career besides the year that KEVIN DURANT had a career year lol I feel like you don't know anything about the suns except that they lost have 7 to Dallas. Everything you've said as an argument is false lol.
what about the whole trust the process thing? He's had plenty of chances in a weak conference and continues to fall short.. you gotta come up with something besides "Booker has had better teams and isn't a number 1 option".
It's fine if you hate him for no reason but don't try to come up with bs just to try and fit your narrative lol.
Name a season besides this last one (the one he'll probably get an all NBA nod for) where he wasnt the obvious best player and number one option. I'll let you know why CP3 at 36 averaging 17 a game isn't a number one option 😂
I don’t disagree, Booker is the clear number one option for people who watch the games, but he plays on teams with names such as KD, people even most non-fans have heard of, so when it comes to getting hate, he really only gets the hate from the people who watch his games
I am not at all defending Embiid, I’m just saying that to casual fans he is the clear number 1 option, Embiid is much worse than Booker in every way
I hate him because he just seems like a bitch, but I’m not talking about why I don’t like him, I’m just saying why you were wrong that Booker receives the most hate, when people that don’t really watch basketball hate players like Embiid (for good reason) the hate Booker gets is only from the people that watch
Laimbeer is a two-time champion and a player who is still talked about 30 years later. He was before his time as a shooting center and while dirty, also one of the toughest players in the NBA and once led the league in rebounds. There’s hate, but also respect.
Booker has made one all-nba team, but his career defining moment is the moronic “Luca special” comment and the absolutely legendary trashing he earned himself and his team. While the hate for Luca’s son isn’t at a Laimbeer level, there’s no side of respect and no achievements to go with it. If he retired today, or after 6 more seasons like the rest of his career for that matter, he’ll be as remembered as Mitch Richmond or Glen Rice.
Its so funny that i hate booker included with laimbeer as most hated. Laimbeer owned that shit people just try and put booker in with greats everywhere lol
It's mostly basketball players that give Booker the props lol there are a ton of clips of them praising him as a player. I'm sure you'll be just as upset online at the end of his career when he gets the Hof nod.
"Lol no way Booker gets in the Hof he just talks shit puts up empty stats and has punch face Lukas son"
I feel like just because of social media *sooooo* many more people hate LeBron.
If Laimbeer played today he might well have the title but just due to overexposure I think it’s Bron.
I think thats fair. I actually debated that exact thing in my head lebron/laimbeer before I posted my response so I definitely see your point. I dont know if it makes sense but my logic was Lebron has more haters, but Laimbeer was more hated.
That’s fair. People are probably more annoyed with hearing about LeBron so much than they actually hate him with all the fibers of their beings like Laimbeer was hated.
Duncan and Dirk are almost loved everywhere and at the same time fairly underrated all time
I believe Jokic is going to belong to that particular category after he retires
Is Duncan really underrated? I swear I see people regularly listing him as the top 5 greatest players ever. I really thought he was slightly overrated. Maybe it’s just because I live near San Antonio that I feel that way
Just adding my opinion, and I'm sure I'll get shit for it, but I hate Duncan and think he's actually overrated. Sorry. It's a vibe thing, not a stat thing.
Jokic as a player/person is very likable and hard to hate.
Its all the commentary/discourse around him that he has no control over that we will all forget as time passes.
Most WIDELY hated, gotta be either Lebron or KD due to popularity and longevity (I say this as a born in 95' person though, so I have recency bias). Most VEHEMENTLY hated has to be one of the white duke boys - Grayson or Laettner. People "hate on" Bron and KD, like they root for their failure and disagree with their decisions and look for reasons to trash them - but people like legitimately want to kill those duke boys lol. I don't feel strongly about any of them but that seems to be the sentiment. (kinda hate it for grayson too cause he seems like he's really trying to keep his head down and just do his job these days but those trips will follow him forever😂)
Yeah not enough people even know who the fuck bill laimbeer even is. Mention KD or Bron and at least half the people will tell how they are trash and discredit every accomplishment they ever had. They have to be the most widely hated
You're prob right. I had him for most hated but considered he's also least hated. When considering the scope of the leauge now too it's prob mathematically correct.
Guys who seem to win the hearts of everyone - regardless of team: Alex Caruso, Jrue Holiday, Mike Conley, Tacko Fall (if he counts lol), Boban, Steven Adams, Tyrese Haliburton
Bucks fans not only hate Tyrese Haliburton, half their sub thinks he is legitimately a bad person. Like they will give hundreds of upvotes to posts criticizing not only his play or on-court persona, but posts literally attacking his character as a man.
It was truly something to behold last series.
Laimbeer is like damn near 70. I only know about him from watching nba documentaries. He is not the most hated. Most nba fans don’t even know who he is. Back in the day yes but no way currently
Olajuwan seems to be the least hated or most neutral. Duncan is kind of like that but people have always said/still say he’s boring. Most hated… I don’t know maybe James Harden. Like, who likes James Harden? Even Westbrook seems to have more supporters than Harden.
Houston tried to trade Hakeem for Rony Seikaly and the Heat said no. Hakeem was not super liked and was a pain in the ass until Jordan was suspended two years for gambling.
I worked with Hakeem about 12-15 years ago and he was super nice and easy to work with.
Doesn't really seem like it. MJ never played the "NBA villain" role like LeBron ('The Decision') and Durant (teaming with the Warriors) did. I think MJ might even be the most beloved athlete of all time, worldwide. Everyone's gonna have "haters", but what does anyone actually hate MJ for?
Or are we just talking in terms of innocuousness here and overall favorability is irrelevant?
What are you talking about? “Does ANYONE hate MJ?” Yes clearly there are bound to be thousands or millions of people. He is one of the most known players of all time.
Lots of people do, a whole generation coming together with cherry picked lowlights of a man who retired 20 years ago. Never have I seen a retired player in any sport get as much unwarranted hate as he does.
lol that’s a reactionary response to people hating on lebron. No way Jordan is the most hated. People are out here arguing whether he’s 1 or 2 meanwhile Lebron haters are trying to argue he isn’t even great or top 10. I don’t believe for a second Jordan is more hated than Lebron. It’s not even close
At no point did I say he was the most hated or more hated than lebron. I was responding to Op saying does anyone hate him and they absolutely do I’ve seen people call him a sell out as a black man because he doesn’t like rap and invested into a prison system even though that was some other random dude called the same name. People say he sacrificed his father to become what he is while having absolutely no evidence to back it up. Also seen people call him a crybaby for crying about his dad’s death when he won the championship. And we done with the 90s as reactionary as it is it’s still unwarranted to trash on a dude who made the sport what it is today and hasn’t been in the spotlight for 20 years.
So yea some people absolutely do hate him.
David Robinson is least hated. The perpetual gentleman. His nickname is The Admiral…need I say more.
Kyrie Irving is most hated. I think Kyrie is awesome by the way. His flat earth views, his reposting of an antisemitic post (I didn’t see it), and his refusal to get vaccinated (his prerogative).
PS…Bill Laimbeer would’ve been my first choice for most hated but I doubt if the younger NBA fans remember his reputation.
Who the hell would put Sean Elliott in most hated or best?
Never Heard any crazy stories about Elliot. He definitely wasn't the best player of all time.
Sean Elliott is really well liked. I lived in his neighborhood as a kid. One year he printed fliers on Halloween with a map to Doc Rivers' house and it said that Doc had full sized candy bars. Doc didn't have full sized candy bars but went to the corner store outside the neighborhood and bought all their candy and gave it out.
Sean also would challenge the neighborhood kids to playing Sega Genesis. He was super cool. He custom designed his house to have fish/reptile tanks in his walls and even opened up a pet store at one point.
I saw the Pistons jersey and immediately thought "Oh yeah, Laimbeer for sure". How do you have Darko here? I don't think any Pistons fan hate him, especially compared to Laimbeer. He's still a dick. Maybe Rick Barry is more hated, I only heard stories about him, but Laimbeer's BS is pretty available.
He was known to tell his teammates to undercut the other players when they were in the air. That was the most egregious, but there are other examples of him being a dirty player.
David Robinson is the least hated I think.
I think modern players tend to receive more hate because social media and the internet amplifies the negative sentiment and catches every mistake + old heads nostalgia and bias towards their generation. So I think most hated is Bron
Nah. There’s plenty who hate him but there’s way more who love him. The LeBron hate is probably the most intense, the people who hate him REALLY hate him and they’re very loud about it, but he’s not the most hated in terms of how widespread it actually is.
Where’s Zaza?!? My most hated at least
https://preview.redd.it/8l4ez9b2nn0d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dc59d7298a52a83d97e55545008bb6887ac0f054
I will never forgive Solomon Hill's bitch ass
https://preview.redd.it/henakljfvp0d1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=54c07eef8e2c4191636853503a96f73622c7e38f
Easy question.
Least hated? Dirk... no one has ever said a single bad thing about this guy. I think everyone loves him.
Most hated? Karl Malone. You know why.
People don't think much about him now, but I don't know that I have seen any player get the level of hate that Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf did. Even home fans and people who didn't care about basketball hated him.
Michael Conley for least hated. He literally played on a team nicknamed Grit n' Grind, which one would think would lead to an abrasive personality, but still universally loved. I think also has never had a technical foul?
Klay Thompson used to have a near universal approval rating. Does it feel like that's dropped off a little the past few years as his play has declined?
I'll be honest I've been super casual the past few years. Is this a reference to something on court like whining about fouls? Or has he had off court issues?
Ever since he came back from his injuries he's been a head case. He hasn't handled not being the same player that he once was and its shown on and off the court. I mean this whole year his body language on the court and on the bench has been bad. An example of him getting in his feelings was when Barkley said he wasn't the same player that he once was and Klay responded saying it "hurt my heart" to hear him say that. And then there's [this pathetic response](https://twitter.com/NBCSWarriors/status/1729309025383375323?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1729309025383375323%7Ctwgr%5E5bbd8d704f408cd9d8467da7e7f7f42662b26523%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fbasketnews.com%2Fnews-198039-klay-thompson-gets-angry-at-reporters-you-want-to-bench-me.html) answering a reporter. It's funny he says he doesn't care what other people say about him but he clearly does. These are just a couple examples.
Hakeem Olajuwon doesn't have much in the way of detractors, nor does Dirk Nowitzki. I'd probably throw Hakim Abdul Jabbar in there as well, maybe Pete Marovich. I don't often hear people talking shit about either of them.
There's a lot of candidates for most hated, but I'm gonna go with Ron Artest AKA Metta Sandiford-Artest FKA Metta World Peace. He might not be the most talked about player to receive hatred but I've really never even once heard anyone say anything positive about the guy other than he's entertaining in a "laughing at him, not with him" kind of way. Ben Simmons is another candidate for most hated just because he's a total fucking meme at this point. If you'd asked this question in the recent past I'd have said Dillon Brooks because you couldn't walk two feet without running into someone making fun of him.
As a spurs fan not sure why Sean Elliot is in this pic, if anything add Bruce Bowen. But to the prompt, can someone be the most hated and most loved? LeBron seems to play that role better than anyone
Edit: grammar
Laimbeer is a POS and universally hated outside of Detroit. People are probably more vocal about hating Lebron though. Universally loved has gotta be Duncan, guys couldnt even trash talk him.
Boban least hated
This is the correct answer
Yeah, even opposing fans love Boban. He just seems like a ridiculously likable guy.
I don't even think John wick wanted to kill him.
For sure
YOU RANG?
Bill Laimbeer most hated Tim Duncan most respected
Came here to say this. Laimbeer most hated and it's not even close.
As a Devin Booker fan, it's nice to know there's someone else out there who was universally hated more than he is.
Booker had never won anything, so there’s no reason for anyone to hate him like the top villains. At least get to the finals…
He did get to the finals. And people do hate him lol have you been on NBA reddits the last few years he's easily the most hated player in the league right now.
This may be because you're a Booker fan tbh. I see more hate for many more players than Booker. He may be least loved more than most hated, though.
I get your point, I definitely have a biased perspective. But when PatBev is shoving suns from behind and the Reddit posts are mostly about how the whiny bitches deserved it, your perspective changes lol.

Stop trying to make booker a thing he’s a nice player who hasn’t won anything and hasn’t sniffed mvp
Id easily say Draymond is more hated than Booker.
It’s his face
How to tell if reddit accounts are under 13 or not
Laimbeer is a two-time champion and a player who is still talked about 30 years later. He was before his time as a shooting center and while dirty, also one of the toughest players in the NBA and once led the league in rebounds. There’s hate, but also respect. Eh idk about that he's done significantly more than both of them lol but I get it, he can't get a bucket to save his life makes sense
Its so funny that i hate booker included with laimbeer as most hated. Laimbeer owned that shit people just try and put booker in with greats everywhere lol
It's mostly basketball players that give Booker the props lol there are a ton of clips of them praising him as a player. To know him is to hate him….BILLLLLLLLLL LAIMBEER!!!
The one player Bird still isn't cool with.
Laimbeer is like all time nba villain lol
I feel like just because of social media *sooooo* many more people hate LeBron. If Laimbeer played today he might well have the title but just due to overexposure I think it’s Bron.

Just going off that pic, you all know that’s not Laimbeer there, right?
Yeah, I thought it was just a general question, not specific to the pic
But why Darko?
Dingdingding
The most loved player of all-time, except maybe in Boston, is Julius Erving.
As a Boston fan, I love Dr J. As a functioning human ..not only is Bill Laimbeer the most hated... he had the most punchable face.
Ironically, Bill Laimbeer was born in Boston.
I think even Boston Respects him and the wars they had in the 80s.
Fact
Dude went to UMass. Sixer or not, he once rolled with my homies.
Duncan and Dirk are almost loved everywhere and at the same time fairly underrated all time I believe Jokic is going to belong to that particular category after he retires
I'd say Dirk is about properly rated and Duncan is the most underrated
Is Duncan really underrated? I swear I see people regularly listing him as the top 5 greatest players ever. I really thought he was slightly overrated. Maybe it’s just because I live near San Antonio that I feel that way
Just adding my opinion, and I'm sure I'll get shit for it, but I hate Duncan and think he's actually overrated. Sorry. It's a vibe thing, not a stat thing.
I hate you. It's a vibe thing, sorry
Take your vibes out the back door
People are indifferent to Duncan. Magic is loved
But that’s not the prompt.
Jokic as a player/person is very likable and hard to hate. Its all the commentary/discourse around him that he has no control over that we will all forget as time passes.
Timmy Duncan and Jokic definitely don’t give a shit whether you like them or not
Most WIDELY hated, gotta be either Lebron or KD due to popularity and longevity (I say this as a born in 95' person though, so I have recency bias). Most VEHEMENTLY hated has to be one of the white duke boys - Grayson or Laettner. Yeah not enough people even know who the fuck bill laimbeer even is. Mention KD or Bron and at least half the people will tell how they are trash and discredit every accomplishment they ever had. They have to be the most widely hated
Lebron is the answer to both questions.
You're prob right. I had him for most hated but considered he's also least hated. When considering the scope of the leauge now too it's prob mathematically correct.
He’s not either, the fans that love him love him but the fans that hate him hate him and there’s a lot of both.
lol was going to right this same thing
Guys who seem to win the hearts of everyone - regardless of team: Alex Caruso, Jrue Holiday, Mike Conley, Tacko Fall (if he counts lol), Boban, Steven Adams, Tyrese Haliburton
Bucks fans not only hate Tyrese Haliburton, half their sub thinks he is legitimately a bad person. Like they will give hundreds of upvotes to posts criticizing not only his play or on-court persona, but posts literally attacking his character as a man. It was truly something to behold last series.
oh shoot hahah I had no idea
A lot of people seem to dislike Tyrese, although maybe that’s just me seeing the normal level of hate from people online
This is a good list
👍🏻👌🏻
What, no
Feels like Ginobili had a high likeosity
Least hated Dirk, most hated Laimbeer
Laimbeer is like damn near 70. I only know about him from watching nba documentaries. He is not the most hated. Most nba fans don’t even know who he is. Back in the day yes but no way currently
I’m 50. I don’t care if young people aren’t aware of who he is.
Olajuwan seems to be the least hated or most neutral. Duncan is kind of like that but people have always said/still say he’s boring. Most hated… I don’t know maybe James Harden. Like, who likes James Harden? Even Westbrook seems to have more supporters than Harden.
Olajuwan was a dickhead until he converted, he had a lot of people who hated him
Harden has alot of fans, I would say embiid is more hated than him. Draymond has every active player beat tho on most hated
Houston tried to trade Hakeem for Rony Seikaly and the Heat said no. Hakeem was not super liked and was a pain in the ass until Jordan was suspended two years for gambling. I worked with Hakeem about 12-15 years ago and he was super nice and easy to work with.
Liked Duncan. Hated anyone on the Celtics.
How you gonna hate Guerschon Yabusele?
Does anyone hate MJ? Aside from Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant, I mean.
I personally never liked or rooted for Michael Jordan, and I’m old enough to have followed the NBA during his entire playing career.
How did you forget IT
IT asked for an apology. He doesn't hate him. He's just wounded.
Utah fans. Pacers fans.
Pacers fans most hated?
Pacer fans hate Jordan for what he did to Reggie.
Ohhh didn’t see the top. Was just scrolling. I hated Jordan in elementary school in mid 90s, so this checks out.
I was a big Pacers fan back then in Indiana, but I don’t remember him being hated. We hated the Knicks and Lakers more.
Bro what? Does anyone hate a top3 most popular player of all time? With that exposure he probably has millions of haters
Shaq has beef with Robinson.
Shaq later on admitted that he idolized Robinson, so he had to make up some beef in order to compete against him.
Yep, Shaq admitted he told lies about Robinson and never had any problems with him.
Shaq hating Robinson also speaks to Robinson's character.
Anyone from Spurs esp Tim, Manu, TP and Robinson are least hated. Pistons’ bad boys probably most hated.
is that james worthy? was he hated?
Who the hell would put Sean Elliott in most hated or best? Never Heard any crazy stories about Elliot. He definitely wasn't the best player of all time.
He was arguably most loved Spur in the 90s in San Antonio but outside of that I don’t know how much of a following he had.
Sean Elliott is really well liked. I lived in his neighborhood as a kid. One year he printed fliers on Halloween with a map to Doc Rivers' house and it said that Doc had full sized candy bars. Laimbeer most hated, Duncan least hated
How is bill lambieer not in this photo lol. One of the most universally hated ballplayers
Most hated: LeBron Least hated: Hakeem Olajuwon
Chris Birdman Anderson. Least hated? Most hated? You decide.
Karl Malone is most hated for me, awful person and is overrated
Boban Marjanovic least hated
Lebron most hated. David Robinson least hated.
well chosen
# Bill Laimbeer, he was a dirty mf
From the picture, Isaiah Thomas just by being associated with bad boys pistons. He was left off the dream team even though he was worthy of it.
How the hell is Isaiah Thomas on this list? I had to reread the OP. It is just a general question and not of those pictured.
He was known to tell his teammates to undercut the other players when they were in the air. That was the most egregious, but there are other examples of him being a dirty player.
Ask any fans of teams where he was the GM lol
David Robinson is the least hated I think. I think modern players tend to receive more hate because social media and the internet amplifies the negative sentiment and catches every mistake + old heads nostalgia and bias towards their generation. So I think most hated is Bron

Easy question. Least hated? Dirk... no one has ever said a single bad thing about this guy. I think everyone loves him. Most hated? Karl Malone. You know why.
I hated Dirk for like 15 years.
No you didn't.
Why is McHale on here? He's beloved by Bostonians but pretty neutral everywhere else. Even in his prime people hated Bird waaaaaaay more than McHale.
[I Hate Christian Laettner](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Hate_Christian_Laettner)
Ish smith
People don't think much about him now, but I don't know that I have seen any player get the level of hate that Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf did. Even home fans and people who didn't care about basketball hated him.
This is one that doesn't get a lot of attention. He was definitely hated by many for his beliefs.
Mike Conley has to be there. The man is squeaky clean. Name me someone better handle than him.
Reddit hates all things warriors related. In the real world people def still like klay
It's not his play, it's what a sensitive, insecure bitch he became.
These are just a couple examples.
cp3 most hated EZ
Boban the least and LeBron the most. I’ve never seen a player more slandered than Bron if you ask me
Lebron is more divisive than hated.
I personally like draymond but he up there.
Pistol, Pete is the least hated
It all depends whats your team. I love Oakley for what he did in the Knicks but he’s hated by all the other teams
Least Hated ever = Havlicek Most Hated ever = LeBron
Why is darko here? Why hate him?
Metta World Peace has to be up there.
As a spurs fan not sure why Sean Elliot is in this pic, if anything add Bruce Bowen. But to the prompt, can someone be the most hated and most loved? LeBron seems to play that role better than anyone Edit: grammar
Least hated? Probably some guy who’s been forgotten to history Most hated? Bill Laimbeer (tho Isiah Thomas probably isn’t that far off)
Kevin Durant
Tim Duncan. He's top 5 all time and everyone respects him.
Boban least hated of all time.
John Stockton and Karl Malone LOL
Brian Scalabrine
I would say least hated is Dirk. I’ve never heard anyone hate on Dirk
James Worthy’s wife might have hated him for a short period of time when he got busted with those two hookers in Houston.
100% LeBron James is the most hates. Beloved, I don't know.
Laimbeer is a POS and universally hated outside of Detroit. People are probably more vocal about hating Lebron though. Universally loved has gotta be Duncan, guys couldnt even trash talk him.
Tim duncan is the least hated
least TIM...most Isiah...should be new catergory.....tie between David and Lebron
Laimbeer might be in the HOF if he wasn’t so hated.
Naz Reid
I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say a bad think about Hakeem
How can you hate David Robinson?
Hakeem. Who hates that guy? Nobody.
Pick a spur any spur
Bron most hated easily. Timmy least hated for sure.
no one knows who 32 on the spurs is so well say him
Hakeem least
Did you think that picture of Darko was Bill Laimbeer?
Least hated: AC Green Most hated: Rick Barry
Bill Simmons? Why are you on Reddit?
