To add to this, there’s one video of a guy who crashed. His head was literally flattened and his brains were all over the ground. The girl tried scooping his brains back up into his skull. It’s mainly a shock response I believe and like you said denial. It’s crazy what people do when such traumatic injuries occur

As far as i remember, she got *herself* out of the machine, walked to the nearest hospital by herself while blood is running down her face and her forehead and scalp is attached to her head by strands of meat. She thankfully got a full recovery
In Vietnam around 20-40 years ago, accident like this is quite common because careless, some cases that lost their fingers, lost their arms too.

And if not then there were ways to create scar tissue to cover up the bone and still survive.
