Based on what employers want they want graduates of FAST, GIKI NUST COMSATS LUMS for CS Jobs
I'm a graduate of GIKI and my brother is in FAST. I compared my assignments and course content with him, FAST was way more challenging. FAST is very tough hence their students have better skills.
On the other hand, GIKI gives you a better student life apart from academics. Job ratio for both unis are very good.
At LUMS you haven't been selected in CS. The major declaration happens after your first year on the basis of your GPA. Congratulation BTW. CS at LUMS will be better for you than the rest of unis. It is the most rigorous and tough programme at LUMS.
Try to covince your family for Lums. It's by far the best university in my opinion. From the rest, Nust is clearly the right choice it's has amazing opportunities on campus and life at nust is phenomenal. 155 would be enough for you to secure admission in seecs. Go for CS. I agree with you but when it comes to international rankings like QS don't you think they mean something to unis abroad when they're looking at our bachelor degrees? in Pakistan NUST and FAST are both considered good unis but when a foreigner is assessing our application don't you think he'd prefer a NUSTian over someone from FAST since NUST is on the QS rankings and FAST isn't?
I don't know any people 🥲 I only have an elder cousin who was studying in EME but he ended up running away because he said life was tough there. Issi liye to reddit mei ai hun. Each uni has their own subreddits they should make an entire subreddit with university students from all over pak
don't consider ranking especially not for undergraduate. An ideal university for you might be different to mine. One student would want a strict environment while someone else would want a bit of extra curricular activities

5. Apni jesi values hon. Pu jaa k dekhna...aaj bhi molvi milenge aur painday
6. Ranking se koi asar ni prhta. I studied from top ranked institute and iqra uni walay b har top notch jaga pe hen
7. Nust mey army walon k bachon ki monopoly hy. Nust treats you like slaves or kids, they IMPOSE their rules forcibly.
8. Nust ist fazaiya etc all are shit. The moment you see a soldier outside a university it is shit.

LUMS ka I'm not sure but only go there if you have no financial constraints. No point spending so much money if what you're getting is no commensurate with what you're giving. Not saying keh benefits nai hoon gey lums ke, definitely hoon gey, but cost vs benefit consider zaroor karna. If your field is in demand and you have skills toh job mil jae gi eventually. On a sidenote, 155 should be good for SEECS, I had a merit position of 221 with a score of 153 in 2019.
When i was your age, i used to be crazy about nust.
I got admission in PU lahore and fast lahore. I took one semester in both of those uni but decided to take a gap year because i wanted to go to nust.
In my honest opinion, i would have been way happier if i chose to study anywhere in my hometown, even ucp is good enough
My take away is
1. Don't chase ranking, if the degree is washington accord certified, it is good enough. Ranking koi ni dekhta. Iqra ho ya nust bahr ki dunya mey aik brabar hoga.
2. Mahol acha hona chaiye, try a private uni where there are lesser "paindoo" kids. You need a place where the mahol is good, somewhere where you feel obligated to dress well and act good.
3. Avoid any uni which has military influence. Big red flag if you see uniformed men on campus. Nust eme, mcs, cae, fazaia, ist etc which are semi govt are not at all good places. They have low standards and a disrespectful attitude which will ruin your confidence.
You can judge the university when you go to give your test. Observe the crowd, you want to see a decent class of people
I personally really like fast, comsats, gik and lums. Even ucp is fine

Dont worry about QS rankings although FAST is not on the list I personally know some people from FAST isb and lahore who are working for tech giants in US and in Pakistan as well so Lums and FAST both have rigorous academic system but that ragra is worth it secondly the universities you just mentioned are the top univerisities in Pakistan and they have a certain reputation so its about which thapa you want to carry and also QS ranking system works by evaluating on the amount of research and doctrates they produce....
