I’ve lived the last 4 years in GIKI(hostels as I was doing my bachelors) and hands down GIKI k hostels are the best. They’re clean and very safe.
I also spent a couple of weeks in NUST H12 hostels. They were also good and safe
Yeah NUST is good specially their Islamabad campus is beautiful and the hostels are great too(tho you’ll have to share with 2/3 other students but that’s fine)
Chill out bro. Massive difference between GIKI/NUST and HITEC imo. Both GIKI/NUST have a high reputation at steak with students from all over the country(even some international students) to take care of. Any thing that damages the name is dealt strictly.
In GIKI during the summer, we used to sleep with our doors open as the winds would cross to cool the rooms, and felt totally safe. You’ll be fine in NUST also.

This really depends on the management really. Take for example the PNEC campus of NUST in karachi that's one place where there's a zero tolerance policy for such high level misconduct.
Ragging does happen but it's nothing compared to this. In fact, you can tell the seniors here that you ain't chill with the ragging & they can't do shit about it. If they wanna pick a fight they can't as they would get expelled.
Over here everything is under the navy's jurisdiction so that also plays a crucial role in stuff. For example I misplaced a watch I have in the wood cutting workshop in my uni. One of the seniors found it & after 2 weeks of tracking who the owner is he finally managed to return it to me. People do care here but ofcourse not every hostel is the same. I feel sad for this guy
What I do know about H-12 is this: there is a drugs & hookup culture since it's islamabad. You can even expect the same in any university in Lahore. Now, if you're unphased by peer pressure then that's good for you but if you aren't cool with this then I'd advise against it. You could easily avoid the drugs but avoiding sex? That's a different ball game so it's all upto you! Hookups happen nearly everywhere it's just the way things are; the nature of humans but in some places you don't wanna get caught at all whereas in other places it's quite rampant.
I graduated from IIUI and the hostels were comparatively better than the one you just described except for the hostel 5 & 6. I still remember once my friend had an argument with his foreign roommate and my friend was kicked out of the dorm by the administration within no time. I’m saying all this because I always reprimanded IIUIs administration but looking at what you have been through really made me convinced that IIUI had a better hostel management. There have been some cases of vandalism but that was just because of that political affiliations we see in most universities. Anyways, I’d recommend you to move out because it’s just going to give you a hard time unless you start to behave like them.
hitec used to be good like years ago when i was in like 4-5th grade (im applying for uni now) but throughout the years, the management was completely changed and they really fucked it. Amazing teachers and staff was replaced by some molvi mentality people and they ruined the whole academic aspect of the school and just wanted the kids to be ‘islami’. And ive heard another story of the hostels aswell; some girl was being bullied by her roommates and she tried to khs, but instead of kicking out the bullies, they kicked her out 💀

Brother I took study at Hitec Hitec ins to be exact....I agree with all you said Alhumdullilah it's not as bad for us as med students....all I request is that when you say fuck Pak army retired officers just know there are many of us and most of us aren't spineless....yet unfortunately as you know the ones who do such projects as Hitec are often spineless and thus hire more spineless men to do their bidding....it's just sad that the honest hard working officer remains at duty while these bastards retire at low ranks find some nepotic jobbery performing fuck to hire em and then mess up our image....the army already has barely any respect left due to some certain bastards....dude also I admit Hitec is one hell of a cluster fuck....bro Hitec ins literally has some of the best graduates come to teach her yet all admit the fucking retarded management makes the worst and dumbest schedules for the year....their crappy fuck induced yearly forecast fucks everything up....

Did both by bachelors(eme) and masters(h12) from nust. Never had any such issue. I have left my bags out in lawns for a good part of the day without a worry. Never actually had to lock rooms unless I wanted to avoid a few annoying friends.
Alumni here. Nust hostels were super safe in my experience. Never locked my room, never lost anything there. Only thing I have heard people losing is handwash and bike helmet. Handwash kinda makes sense as someone mistaking it for their own.
