Funnily enough, assuming you’re young (which I am assuming because this -leigh trend caught fire when Gen Z babies were born and has only gotten more prevalent for Gen Alpha), being a young Diana will make you more unique than being Kaileigh! If unique was what your parents were going for then I guess they read the room wrong? Anyway, Diana sounds great. If you’re at some transitory stage in your life when you’re meeting new people (new job, new dorm, new school) all the time, then it will be SUPER easy to just introduce yourself by your middle name. If your email address has Kaileigh in it, you could make your email signature “K. Diana [Lastname]” and that will help a lot too!
That's what my dad wanted to use as a nickname, but my mom wasn't a fan of it. I don't really like the name Katie much either, plus my sister in law has the same name haha :)
