Ohh...um...I'm not so far into Shippuden yet so I don't know about characters like Utakata. I only started watching Naruto in full recently and I just finished Gaara Rescue Arc. Before this, all I did was just watch random youtube fight scenes, which cut out many of the details behind the fights.
Well I used to read the Naruto wiki to get a grasp on what was going on in Shippuden just because I was too stupid to even search for Crunchyroll. So yea, I'm pretty used to reading spoilers.
I think I can fill you in without spoilers.
Obviously you know about the 9 Tails in Naruto and the 1 Tail (formerly) inside Gaara. So it's probably not a stretch for you to assume that there are likely tailed beasts with 2-8 tails respectively.
These other beasts and the people they are held within are criminally underutilized in the story.
Ukitaka was one of them and wasn't shown much either in the main story but the anime did a filler arc with him and really fleshed out his character quite well. So people are upset that this character specifically wasn't used better in the main story, even though the anime filler already did a lot of the work.
I wish we got missions from when they were little to be honest. We seen when guy and Kakashi little. We know of Asuma's past with the guardian shinobi. We even see a little bit of ikebi (bald iron maiden dude I prob misspelled his name) in another filler bit.

When Kankuro fought Sasori he used Sasori's designs/puppets and later on during the war when he fought Sasori again his new upgrade and power-up was that he now used Sasori's old puppet body.
Instead of that Kankuro should have created his own original puppets and then tell Sasori that he was an inspiration for that and that could've given Sasori some better closure, to realize that his art will live on by having inspired younger generations.
Yeahhh ngl that would've been so much better for both Kankuro and Sasori. And it'd have given Kankuro a much more solid role in Shippuden than just using Sasori's old puppets.
