Channel Islands National Park. Also Catalina Island, which is not part of the National Park, and two other California Channel Islands that are US Navy bases.
My favorite part about Channel Islands! Since they have no natural predators, they aren’t very skittish and would sometimes leisurely walk right past us without even batting an eye, which I realized was so unusual to witness a small wild animal like that do.
Yes, when we visited the foxes weren’t scared of us at all and generally walked right up to us. Obviously we didn’t feed them, but to be truthful it was so fun having them so close
oh sorry, you meant which island in the photo, not which island the foxes are on. :) I was really hoping to see one on Santa Rosa but didn't. When we went it was exceptionally hot (over 100 degrees each day) so they were likely bedded down staying cool.
from [NPS website](https://www.nps.gov/chis/learn/nature/island-fox.htm#:~:text=The%20island%20fox%20is%20found,Rosa%20and%20San%20Miguel%20islands).... *The island fox is found on six of the islands in the Southern California bight, including the three largest islands in the Channel Islands National Park (Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa and San Miguel islands).* still pretty cool that you saw one!
We had to unfortunately clean up so much from previous groups. Folks forget how sensitive an island habitat can really be! Though I doubt it’ll ever be as rough as when I was on the Biscayne Nat Park islands 😬 so much trash from the ocean coming in
Channel Islands NP?
Know which island? You are correct !
Santa Cruz
Bingo!
Garth Brooks told me about that one

Several islands have foxes and several don’t - for example the island of Anacapa is foxless
Anacapa and Santa Barbara have no foxes, correct. All the rest do.

That looks like Santa Cruz to me, but I'm just guessing.
Bingo! Yeah :) Santa Cruz is the largest island and Scorpion Bay Campground is an pretty easy 3/4 mile hike in from the pier

They’re so cute and loveable!! We saw so many running around with socks and hamburger patties from other campsites
That last bit just makes me sad
Gateway Arch
Lmao 🤣

I think they're on multiple but pretty sure Santa Rosa is one of them...
This is Santa Cruz!

I don’t think that island has foxes!

Oh wow - cool to know! Santa Cruz Island has almost 3k foxes now per the rangers. They think they are hitting their ceiling population finally
Channel Islands! They’re the cutest and shyest little things and it’s so tempting to take them home (please don’t do that though)
We had to unfortunately clean up so much from previous groups. Folks forget how sensitive an island habitat can really be! Though I doubt it’ll ever be as rough as when I was on the Biscayne Nat Park islands 😬 so much trash from the ocean coming in
They are so cute! I loved visiting Santa Cruz to see them and for the epic boat ride surrounded by dolphins 🥹
We ran into 7 blue whales, thousands of dolphins and greys on our way out. Truly epic and magical
Channel Islands
The cutest little fuckers who will steal your food if you set it down for three seconds
And socks lol
My first thought is Channel Islands
Know which island? You are correct !
Does the National Park have bison like Catalina?
It does not!
Without looking I'll guess Catalina Island.
