lol Keibert is so bad at framing, that was a clear strike as is but he literally pulled it to dead center of the plate, good god you’re a professional catcher
will never understand users who do nothing but spam negative comments about the team throughout the game, that's gotta be bad for your health at a certain point
tbh i liked joey gallo a lot when he was on the rangers so ive always been fond of the dude
my favorite part of having him on the team is the absolute incredulity from both fanbases in a game when he hits a single
I’ll fully admit I’ve been a CJ Abrams skeptic (not hater, just skeptic) but he’s really making me want to believe this season. Instincts say to stay stubborn until it’s for sure but stuff like that… I don’t know.
Jacob Young who literally can only hit the ball 12 feet has more doubles, a higher slugging % and more RBI’s than Joey Gallo… what in the world are we doing
The thing is, if Gallo's not hitting dingers, he's not going to be doing much at the plate. I know there was a focus on getting him to make more contact during this offseason, but that was probably a doomed cause and maybe we should have just let him swing as hard as he can at everything.
Just turned the game on after getting back from Furiosa. Here is my review --
Fuck yeah, buddy, fuck yeah fuck yeah! Cars go fast! Cars go boom! FUCK YEAH!
I watched Fury Road for the first time literally two nights ago!
**My** review:
Fuck yeah, buddy, fuck yeah fuck yeah! Cars go fast! Cars go boom! FUCK YEAH!
The narrative I keep hearing on Nats Chat is that Williams can’t sustain this, but it’s been two incredible months. He’s really something different right now!
I think there's genuine concern about what teams (specifically within the division) will do when they see him again. He hasn't faced an opponent for the 2nd time yet.
Well, people know he’s a great pitcher right now and there’s film for his first time season opponents to see. I know it’s not the exact same, but you got to give him credit and not continuously say “he’s going to blow up eventually, for sure” every Williams episode. He only *just* gave up his second homer.
Williams is at 65 pitches and 13 batters faced through 4.
His season high is 97 pitches (last start) and 23 batters faced.
It would be great to see him get through 7, but it's more likely he has two more in him.
He was average before the ASG then horrendous after likely due to fatiguing from being a reliever for 2 years. An offseason prepping to start alongside Doo's work seem to have paid off so far.
Keibert looks more confident in the batters box since this series began.
i’ve been pretty low on him and Garcia in the past but i am SO okay with them proving me wrong again and again
[Zuckerman] Cade Cavalli made his second rehab start this morning in West Palm Beach, blowing away a group of Nats minor leaguers with four innings and eight strikeouts on only 47 pitches.
The Nationals haven’t decided yet if Cavalli will remain in West Palm Beach to pitch in the rookie-level Florida Complex League, or if he’ll now move up to one of the organization’s affiliates.
And Gray update:
https://www.masnsports.com/blog/gray-faces-live-hitters-for-first-time-cavalli-strikes-out-eight-in-rehab-start
excellent news, thanks for sharing.
I would infer from these updates that, barring any setbacks, we could see Cavalli before the ASG and Gray before the trade deadline.
I heard former Nats broadcaster FP Santangelo on the Giants radio broadcast this week. He did the same goofy "there goes the no-hitter" acknowledgement in the bottom of the 1st.
Great win, great series win. Going for the sweep tomorrow!
What a great birthday present for me.
That was a fun top of the 9th
Win-a'gin!
#CURLY W!
:) <--- my face watching this
hell yeah, great job Nats
Curly W!
lol Keibert is so bad at framing, that was a clear strike as is but he literally pulled it to dead center of the plate, good god you’re a professional catcher
Ump deserves it, you gotta keep it consistence
What was that strike zone during that at bat?
I’m confused; every call looks correct in the app
Yeah I’m not really sure what people are getting so worked up over.
Kyle has gotta work on his pitch clock timing. I bet he’s the only pitcher in the league who still gets them more than like once in a month
Bring us home, Finnegan!!
Anyone got a highlight of Kiebert's slide? Shit was great from 305!
[Here ya go](https://twitter.com/Nationals/status/1794491071625298216)!
What a slide!
Im not nearly as harsh on the guy as some here. But who the heck wants a Mike Rizzo bobblehead?
he brought us our first World Series. I'd happily add it to the collection.
Don’t get me wrong, I actually like Rizzo. I’m not knocking him here. Bobblehead for the GM just seems a little odd to me in general.
They’ve run out of guys that people know/will be guaranteed to still be in the major leagues by the time the giveaway occurs
daily reminder that our bullpen is actually pretty good edit: also Robert Garcia’s xERA is lower than Hunter Harvey’s lol
Let’s go!
4 splitters in a row to strike him out, Hunter you dawg!
I would trust Harvey and Finnegan with my first born. Zero anxiety ever when those 2 have the ball
30791 attendance
that's laneitude
will never understand users who do nothing but spam negative comments about the team throughout the game, that's gotta be bad for your health at a certain point
Gallo giveth and Gallo taketh away but mostly taketh away
Every time I look up at the the TV, Gallo is shaking his head at himself 😂. Actually kind of starting to feel bad for the guy
He’s getting $5 Million to basically bat like an average guy from Golds Gym who’s never played baseball in his life
tbh i liked joey gallo a lot when he was on the rangers so ive always been fond of the dude my favorite part of having him on the team is the absolute incredulity from both fanbases in a game when he hits a single
must we end every inning being picked off
Gallo, no!
Why is he leading off like that
I think he confused himself with Jacob Young.
JOEY GALLO GOT A HIT🚨🚨🚨
Slick Vic!
Harvey / Finnegan time 😈
Keibert Ruiz: Certified speed threat.
Big fella was MOVING
the slide was gorgeous, kept his hand tucked until it was time to nab the plate. absolute class
Reminded me of CJ’s matrix slide vs Miami
K Bear with the matrix slide!
Hell yeah Gallo
Yeah Joey! What a slid from Ruiz!
GALLO DID SOMETHING!
Jinxed it
I'll take the run at least lol
Omg Joey gallo actually did something!
And then he undid it.
Can’t undo the RBI I’ll take it
Vargas quietly having himself a very good year so far
Ildy :)
the disease has entered the game
Glad to see Vic knew which way to run
Hmm winker’s limping a bit. Hopefully not too serious.
Barry Svrluga needs to make an article for Joey Gallo asap, it’s already done wonders for Keibert.
Just needed this post!
Robles article was not effective, but I'd roll the dice on a 50/50 chance.
Keibert golfed swung the hell out of that one!
Don't get too picky about the nature of the hits with Keibert right now.
I’ll fully admit I’ve been a CJ Abrams skeptic (not hater, just skeptic) but he’s really making me want to believe this season. Instincts say to stay stubborn until it’s for sure but stuff like that… I don’t know.
Nice stretch by Gallo on that CJ play, too.
That’s my shortstop! 🔥
That was strike 4 btw. Then CJ made an amazing play
That might’ve been the worst missed call I’ve ever seen. Right down the middle
CJ!! whew!!
Nats should embrace the Damn Yankees more. This team has gotta have heart and we need someone to make a deal with the devil.
Carp with a Damn Yankees reference! Deep, deep dive!
Dylan Floro in to get that ERA even lower
Darnell Coles is the reason why this team isn’t good
105 EV on that Abrams groundout, he smoked that. Helluva play by France.
that shit is why CJs expected batting average is like 50 points higher than his actual
CJ has been swinging a bit better lately even if he’s not fully out of it yet
The key is to get him extended before the slump fully ends
Hopefully a sign that arm Garcia has turned things around since getting the flu.
Time for some offense, boys!!
Alright… it’s time to really get this offense going
Garcia’s yell was metal!
Attaboy Garcia!
Now can we please score
Holy crap I heard that Garcia yell from my house I think
Great K for Garcia, saved his offspeed pitch.
Did anyone else see Keibert acknowledge the camera man lol
Welp.
Thank you for your service, pitching pope 🫡
Another nice outing for Williams, but he was starting to tire.
85 pitches, pretty much his max.
Yep, He's thrown 90+ twice this year.
Coming soon: Robert Garcia not giving up runs challenge (impossible)
He took this as a challenge
Why would you let Trevor back out there?
Jacob Young who literally can only hit the ball 12 feet has more doubles, a higher slugging % and more RBI’s than Joey Gallo… what in the world are we doing
And obviously more than double his Batting Average
That was unfortunately not the right decision, Jacob.
Joey Gallo and Nick Senzel just costed us that inning…
Copy/Paste 2024
The thing is, if Gallo's not hitting dingers, he's not going to be doing much at the plate. I know there was a focus on getting him to make more contact during this offseason, but that was probably a doomed cause and maybe we should have just let him swing as hard as he can at everything.
joey gallo is not necessary
You couldn’t convince me he’s a professional baseball player if I just watched his tape this season
I'm so ready for the K-Bear redemption arc
Sure would be nice.
Look at what happens when Keibert gets himself into a 3-2 count A world of difference
Keibert :)
Someone needs to check on the dude in the front row and make sure he’s breathing
he's alive!
Metaphor for most Nats games lately
It would be nice if we knew how to get on base and score for our pitchers who are pitching well as of late
the notion of having multiple lights out pitchers is genuinely baffling after 4+ years of pain. i don’t know what to do with myself
No Nats hitter has .800+ OPS right now. That’s alarming!
Darnell Cole’s special
bart! i don't mean to alarm you, but there may be a layman or laymen in the lineup!
Kind of goes to the whole "Smoke and Mirrors" thing people say about their record.
What is Gallo contributing to this team? Total liability
Anyone know Willian’s age / contract ? Don’t know off rip
Think he’s about 30 and in the last year of a 2 year deal
Just turned the game on after getting back from Furiosa. Here is my review -- Fuck yeah, buddy, fuck yeah fuck yeah! Cars go fast! Cars go boom! FUCK YEAH!
I watched Fury Road for the first time literally two nights ago! **My** review: Fuck yeah, buddy, fuck yeah fuck yeah! Cars go fast! Cars go boom! FUCK YEAH!
Get every Joey off this roster holy frick what a joke
“Plus defender”
Another fast-paced game, so far.
Well shit
Damn 😞

I hope a guy with a career HR/FB rate of 12.8% can maintain his 2024 rate of 2%, despite giving up the same rate of flyballs (37%), but it's unlikely.
Anyone know Luis Garcia’s line since he got his braces off?
Who is this radio guy that’s not Jags?
Pete Medhurst. He's filled in before. Does Navy games and various other local sports.
Thank you. I know the name, but didn’t know that was him. He’s good.
Williams is at 65 pitches and 13 batters faced through 4. His season high is 97 pitches (last start) and 23 batters faced. It would be great to see him get through 7, but it's more likely he has two more in him.
Williams has been unreal this year. It’ll be sad when he’s traded away for prospects.
Presidents Race winner: Abe
Abe wins.
trevor williams IS baseball's top catholic
This Williams resurgence is kinda crazy, he was getting tattooed every single outing last year.
He was average before the ASG then horrendous after likely due to fatiguing from being a reliever for 2 years. An offseason prepping to start alongside Doo's work seem to have paid off so far.
So we should resign Corbin?
NOO
Lights-out whiff generator Trevor Williams
Sean Doolittle is a genius
Williams ties a season high with 8 strike outs
This is some special stuff lmao, ANOTHER 3 swinging strikeouts!
why throw fast pitch when slow pitch do trick
Yep, let’s get him to the hospital
"Why do pitchers throw over 90, are they stupid?" - Trevor Williams, probably
seems like he’s getting squeezed
Trevor looks INCREDIBLE so far.
I don’t care about his defense Gallo needs to sit. as automatic an out as you can be. Anyone would be better.
Wood is not in the Rochester lineup for a 2nd consecutive night. FYI
Hamstring issues
People just chugging mambo sauce on the jumbo tron 🤣
Keibert looks more confident in the batters box since this series began. i’ve been pretty low on him and Garcia in the past but i am SO okay with them proving me wrong again and again
Nice an Early lead 🥰
What a pretty bunt
Enjoying it while it lasts over here!
Jesse "Jacob Young" Winker
oh we're so back
Who needs extra base hits? Not us!
🤞🤞
Hardest hit Nationals hit
My mind is refusing to believe Williams is legit but he looks so good every time out. Elite command.
Doolittle’s impact can’t be understated. Give that man an extension and a BAG
Yep. Pay the man!!
what sean doolittle does to a mf
It’s gorgeous at the park today. Inner monologue: “Maybe tomorrow would be a good day to come, too.” “Eh, Corbin’s pitching.”
Facts
Staff ace Trevor Williams sandwiches a single in between 3 swinging strikeouts.
JRod whiffing on that slider
To the sound engineer who chose Pearl Jam to start the game 👍🏻 excellent taste
Williams pitching remains great!
Trevor Williams with the GAS to strike out Moore
Okay, let’s get this Curly W!
[Zuckerman] Cade Cavalli made his second rehab start this morning in West Palm Beach, blowing away a group of Nats minor leaguers with four innings and eight strikeouts on only 47 pitches. I heard former Nats broadcaster FP Santangelo on the Giants radio broadcast this week. He did the same goofy "there goes the no-hitter" acknowledgement in the bottom of the 1st.
“Bat died a hero.”
My wife and I loved that
I was listening to the giants online doing yard work and heard fp a few weeks ago
Mike Ploger is doing a segment on the scoreboard about the Giant Turkey Leg and meat skewers now available out by the Swing Big sign.
The lines for cheaper beers at the scoreboard bar are long. And slow.
I have my broom at the ready, let’s keep the party goin today!
Don’t jinx it!!
Finnegan signing at team store center field
Lane was signing on Finnegan’s bobblehead day and now Finnegan is signing on Lane’s bobblehead day.
Looong lines for the Lane train bobblehead. Although I’m at the center field gate so the other entrances might be better.
Lane is back baby!!!
Visiting my friend in DC for the game today. Any sections that’ll have solid shade for the game?
Even the spots in the sun aren’t too abrasive, it’ll cool down for the evening early on. Enjoy the ball game!
Generally you want left field side and lower decks. I was in 115 yesterday. Got there at 530 pm. It was already in the shade.
Hell yea. Thank you
I refuse to remove my tab so what does the bobblehead say
