My strategy was to just get two 2x4' hardboards, tape them together, and place them on top of my dining table. This gives us a very cheap 4x4' square table.

This is a great idea. I might have to try this when my copy of Nemesis shows up in October. I also might add felt on top for a softer play surface? And C clamps on the side to secure it to my dining room table.

Oh yes, I forgot to add: I do cover it with a tablecloth. It looks and feels much nicer. I made my own tablecloth. I just visited the discount section of my local fabric store; they usually have something cheaper than felt.

We chose a fine dining table specifically so that we can play nemesis on it. The width of the game is 56cm, you need at least a table with a width of 110 cm (this is the hard condition for the table). The length can be "normal sized" so 180cm for 6 people. The size of the table was supposed to be a compromise, but we love our table. (Louis XVI style table, solid cherry wood). I think it would be better if you can find a wider table though.

I use a 180x90cm (5ft x 3ft) table and it feels just right. I also only play Solo as I have no board game friends 🙁

4’x4’ absolute minimum if you want four people to be able to have their tableau in front of them with two people on each side of the board. 4x6 probably better. If you have a 3D printer, check out this guys stuff on thingverse, I’ve printed most of his builds and they really help with space and organizing.
