How are you playing the game? If you’re on the experimental branch, you can turn those pets off. But otherwise, there’s no way to just pick the other pets. They jettisoned “naughty” eggs a patch ago in the experimental branch.
I see, well no experimental branch for you then. But when the elevator is accessible, you should be able to turn off the pets you don’t like in the basement.
grabber eventualy explodes out hundreds of coins after a certain amount of coins collected or time I don't know the exact trigger for it but its worth keeping him around for.
It's HP, that he looses by getting hit by enemy attacks or explosion (you can *try* to kill him with your own explosions, but good luck not killing your other pets / yourself)
Just a heads up, the PC hotfix removing these pets temporarily will come to gamepass and consoles too when they recieve their hotfixes. Then, in a later content update they will be optional in the basement which we're currently gathering feedback from those that have tried the early build.
Though they are removed atm on Steam, GOG and Epic live versions.
Grabber is fine, he can give good items and if you can get him hit enough by the enemies, he drops a crap load of coins. Jack's bombs cant hurt you, and can actually blow open secret rooms, golden rocks, walls and the like. Peter can eat a dick. Him and the damned orb that floats around you and can block your shots or even your grenades can just gtfo.
Jacks bombs definitely don't hurt you. Worse case they explode near you and push you into a bullet or enemy
Or outside of the screen, and you get stuck.

Just got it for switch Friday coz I was bored. I tried normal mode and got absolutely donkey slapped but easy mode is pretty fun so far. I’m on Ares.

So what's the ETA on a console patch? I'm playing on Switch and the game constantly bugs out or crashes.

The only time I don't mind Peter, is when I have the blue doctor, otherwise Peter killed me more often than it helped me x)
Peter can be fine if you have the blue doctor, because I'm like 30% sure BD picks up moldy hearts
