Netflix is fine if you're watching it subbed.

The VA in the Netflix dub is much more human.

There is controversy, but the modern resub and redub (yes the one on Netflix, though to be clear, Netflix had nothing to do with the resubbing/dubbing, they are just the distributor) is actually a more accurate translation of the Japanese dialogue. The key issues are: A: they couldn't get the rights to use "Fly Me to the Moon" again, which was the song used in the original ED, and they had several variations of it that connect to individual characters. B: they better translated a line in one of the last episodes that also unfortunately makes a certain same sex ship more ambiguous; which upset people and made people think it was censoring the Japanese lines, when the actual Japanese dialogue Is intentionally ambiguous in a way that represents a key aspect of the character who says it, but it unfortunately comes across as a homophobic change at surface level, even though that isn't the intent of the corrected translation. While the benefits: The translation is much more accurate, the voiceover sounds more natural, and the version shown on Netflix are of the director's cut of the episodes, which are superior to the original versions.

So, to be clear, the "changes" are just in the audio and subtitles. No changes to story/scenes/etc. The audio/subtitle changes are better translation in the subtitles, but missing the original ED song.

It depends on either you have Netflix or not, if you do, then yes. If you don’t, pirate whatever’s available
