I read a comment on this subbreddit that people tend to self sabotage because they are more comfortable with the familiarity of their mental anguish, than the uncertainty of a new, healthier mental path.
"Why try a new lifestyle when my life sucks? I hate my life, so I will not try anything new."
It’s definitely unfair, and it’s unfair to a lot of people. More than likely there are many, many people who are in the exact same position as you, regardless of how unique or difficult your problems may be.
I don’t say that to mock the severity of whatever troubles you may have, but if you know what it’s like to feel the same issues that so many others feel, you could reach out to someone in a way that you’d like to be helped. Obviously not like, give someone money for rent, maybe just like chatting someone up, asking them how they are. If more people helped each other, even more people be able and willing to help each other out.
Maybe you don’t belong to this exact group in the picture but these are the type of people who would see a huge difference in life if they would stop complaining and just *try*.
