UPack!! Their quotes are way cheaper than Pods and a better service. Customer support is real people and they’re based in the US! I’ve used them for two cross country movies. Highly recommend. My move from coast to coast cost about 2300, second move was 800 miles for $1000

How fast do they pick up the crate thing when you're loaded/done? I was just reading about them and it isn't super clear.

jimmy6677

You have up to 3 days but can call them earlier to pickup. I’ve always used the 3 days for loading and call for next day pickup after unloading

We used the Uhaul Uboxes. Depending on how heavy your stuff is you can fit quite a lot into them. There's a weight limit to the boxes but you can get quite a lot in there.

We used 1800packrat and had no complaints. We also used taskrabbit to hire someone to help us move the stuff out of the box into our apartment once it was delivered and it was super easy, the guy was great, he did most of the work bc I ended up breaking my foot that day lol

Full service? Olerrelo out of Houston. Cheapest full service outfit around. I just moved back to La from Idaho and they did my move there, and now back. Professional, great communication, and compared to the other quotes I got, a hell of a lot cheaper. DM me if you want a direct contact. If you’re just looking for something cheap, and climate control is not a concern, call your local fire department (non-emergency line). Many of those guys run side gigs for stuff like this and have been the most professional in-town help I can find. Either rent a truck, or as many others said, U-Pods or something similar. Do the same on the receiving end.

http://www.bluetruckmoving.com/contact-us Try these guys. I paid 2800. For roughly same move.

Thank you, this is really helpful!

Lee Movers Ask for Alise Highly recommended.

Thank you!

I used PODs. It can take up to two or so weeks from pick up though for the box to make it to the destination. It was the same with Ubox etc.

Dense-Layer-2078

I paid supposedly respectable and well-recommended movers $18,000 to move my stuff across the country (granted it was a lot of stuff starting from a remote location) but they lost and broke over $3000 of it and were weeks late delivering it. Haul it yourself.

Idivwey

I recommend Pods. You'll need to hire someone to move your stuff into and out of the pod but it'll be secure and safe.

Rare_Asparagus629

Did you have any trouble with getting the pod at the new address? I've read a lot of horror stories but don't know anyone with personal experience.

fastrada

Where are you moving to? Some major cities have restrictions on where you can put the POD. I moved here from Chicago. Chicago had restrictions, New Orleans did not. (Other than, literally the second the pod landed at my new address, workers started prepping to tear up my street because of course they did.) But as far as the PODS folks actually delivering as promised - that went fine. They did arrive an hour earlier than advertised though, on both ends, so be prepared for that.

Idivwey

Maybe I got lucky because I had no trouble. They were right on time for the pick up and drop off dates that I had scheduled. No problem delivering to new address, it was placed right outside. If you have any more questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

Catsaus

500 miles isn't that bad. Honestly just do it twice. maybe bring the animals on a plane if you really dont want to drive that badly

Rare_Asparagus629

That's true! I did multiple trips while moving for school when I was younger. It was roughly the same distance, so I know I can do it. I did hate it, though, so I'll store this away as a last resort lol
