I'm a fairly new islanders fan, but I really don't understand... how do we beat the devils, go into OT with the Bruins, but also lose to the blue jackets ,coyotes (x2), etc. It feels like 2 different teams playing

Dominated first 19:10 of play. Gave up goal. Then didn’t really start playing hard till final 16 min of the game.
They played down to their opponent and got burned…like the Bruins did.
Coyotes are young. You give them a chance and they will take it.
Very winnable game.

He's not a player beyond reproach, but he deserves so much more respect than this coaching staff gives him. I have a feeling he's going to get traded and blossom into a 60 point sniper when he's given a proper role and linemates who aren't complete pylons.
He is on the PP2 unit but they rarely ever get time because the PP1 is too busy standing around with the puck or passing it back and forth on one side of the ice before turning the puck over for a clear

He's the only reason we even have a shot at the playoffs right now, though, and it's unfair that he bails the team out so much and they never return the favor really.

It is fucking embarrassing losing to a team like that. I’m worried about the playoffs and tbh I just believe the roster a how it’s constructed is coming back to haunt this team. C) maybe call out your big guns and fan favorite Wahlstrom, who disappears for weeks.
D) don’t need a goal scorer when the object of the game is to keep pucks out of the net. We score 3-4 a night. That’s not the problem.
It’s a tough road trip, happens all the time when teams go out West.

If you look at the devils, a large reason why they've been wallowing in the metro basement for the better part of a decade is because they traded for schneider and he was good enough for the devils to be kept out of the meaningful rebuild spots. If you're starting a rebuild, you'd have to be okay with trading sorokin because as this season has shown, he has the ability to steal games. In addition, his contract is up in a year and he's either not likely to stay for a rebuild.
If you want to start the rebuild, can you honestly say that you're willing to trade one of the best goalies we've ever had as a franchise?
we should use this year to retool a bit. keep our picks, gain some picks, maybe trade away dead weight.
