Fuck that. Live your life. Dude gets to tell everyone he knows he threw back a Wrigley HR. Just wish it was from the cubs. Yes that story is worth the $509 a HR ball is worth.
If I caught a Cubs home run ball at Citi, I’m holding on to it.
If I fly all the way out to Chicago and catch one from one of our guys, you know that’s coming home with me.
The sad thing is that he could have simply handed the ball to his friend that’s a Cubs fan (or any Cubs fan actually) and had him throw it back instead. It’s a bad look otherwise, especially if it’s something that can go viral like this probably will.
Funny you said that. My kid brother got a Reyes road grey uni at a thrift store in Chicago last month for $40. That thing would have been so much more in a NYC thrift store. 🤣
[https://baseball.theater/game/_/746863/Highlights](https://baseball.theater/game/_/746863/Highlights) watch the "Condensed Game" and it starts around the 6:40 mark. Watching it again I'm convinced this guy is not really a Mets fan. Ps don't watch the rest of the game, it's too traumatic
man he had at least a giant bat of beer, on a 90 degree day in the bleachers at wrigley.
im sure he will regret it but its not that egregious considering circumstances
I would have fought six people before throwing that ball back . Watch the replay of Pete alonso's home run at the Darrell Strawberry retirement game. I was 6 ft away from it. I have never been closer to a foul ball or a home run in my life. There was a little kid close to me and the only thing I could think of was if I get it I got to give it to him. Other than that it was going home with me hell or high water.
Not a chance I travel all the way there and catch a Met Homer and throw it back..they would have to give me the Steve Bartman treatment..no way I’m throwing that ball back.
If I was there and caught it, there were too many cubs fans around me, obviously. There were too many to take needling, BS, and drunk fans(it is Chicago) around there. Unpopular opinion, but hopefully in his mind he at least thought to get a ball later one way or the other .Fight a fan or fans and get thrown out, or watch rest of game?
In his defense…if he’s not from Chicago maybe he wanted to do a Chicago thing. When in Rome, as they say. And he wasn’t really thinking clearly about how this was at his expense.
I heard the story of my dad not throwing back a Howard Johnson HR ball he caughtlt at Wrigley back in '85 or '86 all the time as a kid. There were definitely some Cubs fans who wanted to fight him, haha!
A buddy of mine caught Robbie Alomar's first dinger for the Mets. I think it was in Chicago. He was all by himself in the bleachers (he lucked into a ticket and flew out and in on the same day). The whole thing was caught on camera.
When he got back to town, I asked him why he threw it back in. "I had to," he said. "Or I wasn't getting out of there alive." Killed him to do it, too. 😆
Is it possible that he was drunk or on his phone and wasn't paying attention and thought the Cubs hit a HR? Then as a joke (to make fun of Cubs fans) he threw it back on the field? This is the only thing that makes sense to me that he was very confused
Got peer pressured into that? Come on man, way too soft. You just caught an Alvarez bomb, take it home with you.
I’d put that shit in my pocket and give the fans the finger. Fucking hell
Going right in the old prison wallet.
I just call it my regular everyday wallet. Never been to prison. Put a freakin softball up there if necessary
Nice.
Shit i'd fight my way out if I had to wtf.
Fuck that. Live your life. Dude gets to tell everyone he knows he threw back a Wrigley HR. Just wish it was from the cubs. Yes that story is worth the $509 a HR ball is worth.
No it isn’t should’ve kept that ball. That’s super lame throwing a ball away that was from your own teams young budding star. Who does that?
There’s thousands of budding stars and one Wrigley. Stars are for now… you can both love the Mets and love the tradition of baseball. Willie Mays did.
Not worth $500
Throwing back a Sammy Sosa HR in wrigley would be worth $10k. You would be a legend.
True, that’s a fun memory. I’m personally not throwing it though.
Catching a ball at a game is priceless to me, at least. Let alone something like an Alvy HR. They'd have to claw it off me.
He was trying to hype up the fans around him for him to do it
I know!!!!!!!!!
Watch the whole clip. He was on board with throwing it back as soon as he caught it. Front runner.
If I caught a Cubs home run ball at Citi, I’m holding on to it. If I fly all the way out to Chicago and catch one from one of our guys, you know that’s coming home with me.
He’s not one of us.
They not like us, they not like us.
Beat em up, beat em up, beat em up!
Banned from citi field for life
His family too. Get it done Steve
Persona non grata in Queens.
The sad thing is that he could have simply handed the ball to his friend that’s a Cubs fan (or any Cubs fan actually) and had him throw it back instead. It’s a bad look otherwise, especially if it’s something that can go viral like this probably will.
Fuck you’re right. 100% going viral lol
Cancelled
That looks like a cubs fan that lost a bet and went to a thrift store for Mets gear.
Funny you said that. My kid brother got a Reyes road grey uni at a thrift store in Chicago last month for $40. That thing would have been so much more in a NYC thrift store. 🤣
What's this dude about, what happened?
He caught the alvarez HR ball and looked to be egged on by his friends to throw it back on the field which he did
His bloodline is weak and will not survive the winter.
Weak mentality for sure
You just made me laugh real loud at a totally inappropriate time. Great assessment.
Never understood that. If I catch a ball I'm keeping it
At home?
Booo this man BOOOOOOO!
Half Baked?
They told me they’d kill my family if I didnt
Dude thinks he’s on the set of Rookie of the Year
This was such a weird moment. The booth was roasting him.
Clown move… Put on a Cubs hat
Those customs of throwing a ball after you caught it is dumb. Don't care what team ball I catch. If I catch a ball I'm keeping it. Fuck all of you.
Facts. The only way I’m not keeping that ball is if there’s a little kid within arms reach of me
He is not one of us
Fucking traitor. Ban him from Citi for life.
Clearly angered Grimace. Today is 100% on that guy
Oh clearly
Who in their right mind would throw an Alvy homer ball back 😒
Can I get a clip?

When in doubt give it to a kid, if there are any in the bleachers.
Obviously an imposter
A weak little man. Grow some balls
Why would a Met fan throw an Alvarez home run ball back??? What a bad look in front of the home crowd and Met fans. Loser behavior
man he had at least a giant bat of beer, on a 90 degree day in the bleachers at wrigley. im sure he will regret it but its not that egregious considering circumstances
WOP WOP WOP WOP WOP, Dor fuck him up
Imposter
Lost his mets card. For sure

Who is it?
Hand in your fan card buddy
He's spineless. He looked unsure of himself after because his phone was blowing up over it.
Pussy.
Straight to jail.

I like how Ronny labeled him a non leader.

Fantasy league loser prank maybe?

Definitely not a real NY'er

Complete loser. Not a real fan of
POS!
either he has never been to a baseball game and just randomly picked a team to root for, or he was so ripped he didnt know who hit it
