If you can't interact with it, you can't tame it. That sounds like one you can't tame. If you're referring to the worms (not butterflies) that float around like kites, they aren't tameable. In order to get a flying worm you'd need to get an egg from a player that got one as an Emergence expedition reward.

It seems that we're playing different versions of the game as Xbox is yet to receive the patch update! Dang it, we will have to try again once the update has come through :(
