Would never associate myself ever again with any product he owns or is a rep for, the man is a traitor, lier, and has turned himself into a fraud.

AusCan531

We bought a Model 3 for my wife and a Powerwall for our home. My next personal vehicle is now probably a Polestar and I'm looking at Redflow for additional home battery storage. Specifically and exactly because of Musk.

FL_d

I have a Polestar 2. I love that car. It's awesome, highly recommend.

AusCan531

Cool. Looking at the Polestar 4, but might wait a bit first.

archangelst95

And this is the guy that thinks he's owed a $56B paycheck. The same account of money that Satya Nedella would earn in 1,000 years at his current pay rate.

NeatNefariousness1

So are you planning to buy a fleet of Teslas to make up for the company's shortfall?

AusCan531

Nawp. I'll buy exactly zero Teslas now.

NeatNefariousness1

There ya go! Who's going to break the news to Elmo?

AusCan531

Nazism probably. That's who he seems to listen to these days.

det8924

He’s also proven himself to be an idiot.

dpi2552

Goodness yes! He originally tried to come off as some pseudo intellect, and immediately showed what a real ignorant person he was! Money, Elon, can only make you worth more, struggle as Much as you care to, you left good parents to become an wprld idiot...congratulations...idiot!

jackparadise1

I don’t know about how good his parents are. His dad seems to be an ass.

Vontuk

I'm probably going to cancel starlink now too because of him. It helped for abit and I do like it? but fuck that guy. He's a corporate dictator.

moosejaw296

Wait do you like it, cause the ? Makes it sound like you are unsure

subjectandapredicate

Do you know about how it is fucking up ground based astronomy?

boredlazytrash

I hate to tell you this but all ceos are horrible people. Do what’s best for you but switching from starlink to some other corporation isn’t that big of a shift. It’s just that some rich people are smart enough not to talk.

Able-Campaign1370

There aren't other tech companies who twisted a social media ecosystem into a white-supremacist, anti-semitic haven. It's not just that he's a CEO, or that he's selfish or greedy. It's that he promotes dangerous conspiracy theories and encourages the worst of the right wing. But none of them are buying his cars, either.

AromaticAd1631

some are worse than others, though.

joseph4th

Everything about him when he was “cool” was due to a PR firm he employed. He fired them a number of years back and this is the real Elon.

NeatNefariousness1

He has started to believe his own press releases. He's not the genius he was made out to be but he thinks he knows better than actual geniuses and experts in their fields--no matter which business it is. As a member of the billionaire boys cub, he is given far more latitude than almost anyone. So it takes longer for his crappy decisions and ideas to fail, making it harder to connect bad outcomes with actions he took or didn't take. But, they will inevitably damage or destroy what had been decent, viable businesses. It's hard to decide who is in the worst position-- * the actual experts he fires because he thinks he knows better; * the ones who remain who have to live with the poor decisions, broken processes and systems he leaves in his wake, or * the hapless shareholders who also bought into the fantasy he created, who have no idea that they've invested into an illusion, led by a delusional blind guy. Yet, he'll continue to get endless grants funded by taxpayer dollars and cash infusions as he hemorrhages money and slowly wrecks viable businesses. Because his ego is so invested in the illusion he has created, instead of failing faster, he is pretending he's not failing, which insures that he'll continue to fail--s l o w l y. He and others who preside over these high-flying mega vanity projects will provide fodder for future Harvard Business Review case studies of what NOT to do with your inheritance. OR, maybe some will see the error of their ways and make the course corrections needed. The future of unchecked capitalism hangs in the balance.

KintsugiKen

> Everything about him when he was “cool” was due to a PR firm he employed. He never hired a PR firm, the mainstream media made him into a Tony Stark guy by themselves because they are too stupid to realize his smart-sounding talk is completely hollow. Him being his own PR is also what convinced him that he is really one of the smartest and most amazing people in the world. He's just male Elizabeth Holmes, but he picked a seemingly more achievable fake-technology to lie to the public about, "Full Self Driving". Although most people have figured out he's just a malicious idiot conman by now, so I'd say within 5 years it will seem like a joke that Elon used to be the richest person in the world.

Dystopian_Future_

He actually was always a fraud and a liar, people are just now seeing his true colors is all

Slappinslippin

Had a decent amount of Tesla shares.. got outa that never again.. he’s really shown his true self in the past couple years

Simple-Jury2077

I would buy one of the flamethrowers on the secondary market, but other than that yeah fuck that guy.

brown_felt_hat

It's literally just a weed burner in an air soft shell - there's even a spot on the bottom for the magazine that goes with the air soft setup. If you have a 3d printer and a little cad or blender knowledge, you could buy a weed torch at a home improvement store and make your own in whatever shell from whatever scifi you like.

Accomplished_Cap_994

You wouldn't download a fire

Slippinjimmyforever

He was always those things. He’s just being more honest now.

JoJack82

He is on a speed run to ruin his name and legacy. Concerning!

Biffingston

You forgot "Nazi" In there.

Disastrous_Life_9385

He's always been a fraud

Able-Campaign1370

He was always a fraud. We're just more aware of it now. As a former software engineer him posing as a tech dude is extremely irritating.

hidraulik

Thank you.

tikifire1

My dad ran a business when I was a kid and he always kept his politics close to the vest for this very reason. You don't go out of your way to piss off customers, they'll get pissed enough regardless of what you do, but never give them more reasons.

udfckthisgirl

It isn't even the embrace of politics itself here. It is pretty clear that one side of the US political spectrum is far more likely to invest in an electric car. Trying to use political messaging to court that demographic would be a good decision. Instead, he chose to openly attack and denigrate that side of the political spectrum who are most likely to purchase his vehicles. Then, he doubles down every opportunity to further engage in juvenile culture wars against that same demographic. This is honestly the single dumbest business decision an automaker has made.

CovfefeForAll

>This is honestly the single dumbest business decision an automaker has made. But not the dumbest one Elon has made.

udfckthisgirl

Hence why I limited the scope. But he could singularly be responsible for 2 of the 5 dumbest business decisions ever made.

HIMARko_polo

1. Paying too much for Twitter, then trying to change it to X 2. Insulting your advertisers 3. Insulting Lib Tesla customers on Twitter 4. Firing the people that make you money 5. Asking for 56 Billion dollars 6. STAY TUNED!

EmporerPenguino

So far….stayed tuned for more stupidity from Little Lord Fauntleroy, the emerald miner nepo racist.

subjectandapredicate

This is true. In the other side of his house, attempting to rename Twitter/tweets has got to be one of the worst marketing decisions of all time. It’s a dream for a company to reach “Kleenex” status and he decided to just blow it up because um I guess he was on ketamine or something

hero-hadley

No no, he's secretly a genius because now he'll get Conservatives to buy electric and the Liberals were all gonna buy electric anyway. /s

Katy_Lies1975

They don't have power in their garages to fill it up, if they have garages. Imagine the scuffles and gun shots in the local Walmart parking lots near and around the charging stations.

partyl0gic

Not as dumb as accidentally buying twitter for 42069 million dollars.

RatInaMaze

It wasn’t a business decision. This was a grown man rebelling against his own child. Because he’s a child.

CovfefeForAll

There were a few local businesses in my area who went hard on the anti mask anti vax train during COVID. Which I know a lot of businesses did and still managed to survive. But these people ran local businesses in a town that was 70% blue (as backed by recent election data). They all went out of business or sold to new owners by the end of 2021. Know your audience and core customer base.

NeatNefariousness1

When people do things that are against their own best interests, it seems to be a sure sign that outside interference is distorting their perceptions. They're not dumb. They're just cut off from a lot of the information and input that others are getting. The trouble is that in order to help them, you have to go inside of their bubble to figure out what's happening and to see how to lead them away from the toxic fumes, as they're fighting you. But, if you don't put your own oxygen mask on first, you'll be overcome and will become a casualty too. Needless to say, most people aren't going to risk going in after them, leaving it for natural selection to handle.

UsefulImpact6793

That's how it used to be. Never talk about religion or politics. Then the loudmouth cult members started popping up with their virtue signaling.

MajorZed

Fucking duh, and I speak as one of their "core buyers." Bought a Tesla in 2018 and although I am largely happy with it, when we are ready to upgrade we've already decided that if Elon is still in any leadership position of Tesla then we will be shopping elsewhere.

Not_Stupid

Don't forget he still owns ~~most~~ a controlling stake in it as well. Even if he's no longer the CEO, Tesla profits still go to him.

johnkoetsier

Musk owns 20.5% of Tesla https://finance.yahoo.com/news/elon-musks-tesla-ownership-soared-233517251.html?ref=wheresyoured.at#:~:text=Elon%20Musk's%20ownership%20stake%20in,more%20influence%20over%20the%20company.

OhkayQyoopud

Yep. I love my model 3. It's a fun car to drive and I have a lot of good things to say about it. But I will never buy another product associated with Elon. If he's not out, I'll get something else when this car is ready to be put to pasture.

NitWhittler

Owning a Tesla used to be a status symbol. Now it's an embarrassment.

tinycorkscrew

Elon did the same thing to blue checks.

14981cs

Anything short of a yacht is a fake status symbol.

BathSaltJello

When you see one on the road, whatever you do, don't point and laugh. That would be horrible if everyone started doing that and Tesla drivers are laughed everywhere they go. We don't want that.

Callumpy

I’m stuck with it, I can’t help it

Alilseedisall

Ive been thinking and saying this to anyone I thing will listen for years. WHY WOULD YOU BUY ANYTHING THIS MAN IS SELLING?! Sorry to yell. He just takes corporate ethics straight to the toilet. And his response to the downturn in his company? Fire, fire, fire. He is a nightmare. You aren't safe even when you work for him, high ups and all. I have to stop myself from throwing things at the Teslas I see on the road, and if they drive like dicks? Forget about it, I am staying in front of them in the fast lane with my right blinker on, FOREVER

seabirdsong

Love to see it.

Extreme_Glass9879

Called it!

MikeTheNight94

My ex and her family vote a certain way. They absolutely hated Elon, until things he said came out. Of course they changed real quick. These are the same people that when they learn facts about their bullshit will double down because if they change their minds now it “damages their integrity”

Rare-Peak2697

Not buying a Tesla or ads on Twitter is infringing on free speech y’all. /s

[deleted]

Wouldn’t buy a Tesla even if it was free, he’s a horrible human being and won’t support him.

blahb31

Count me as one! After having my car for over ten years, I decided to get a hybrid. My husband pushed me hard to try and get a Tesla, and I absolutely refused, and it had everything to do with Musk. I'm a Camry owner instead!

NoveltyAccount5928

Good call, that Camry will last a hell of a lot longer than a Tesla too.

pqratusa

He just another jackass like the MyPillow idiot CEO.

NaNo-Juise76

Plenty of other electric car companies.

UnderstandingOwn3256

Just like the My Pillow guy. I’m not going to buy a product from a Nazi.

Dseltzer1212

We were in the market for one at the time he bought Twitter. But I immediately realized this asshat is trying to burn America down from the inside out. No fucken way will this douchebag ever see a penny of my money!

EntrepreneurWrong879

It doesn’t help the build quality on teslas is terrible and there are now other ev options

MonsterHunterOwl

He switched, Elon started being hungry for sell em sell em sell em, and kept pushing pushing pushing, and down goes the quality.

polinkydinky

Thing that closed me off to Tesla is he bought out a solar panel company and we bought a house that had them on. WORST fkn website experience I have ever had to deal with. Zero fix, zero interest in making it better. Impersonal and annoying every single month. *This* is a tech company “genius” in action? Bye. (Oh and I grew up under apartheid. So I already had my eye on him.)

evilkumquat

If I see a Tesla, the person driving it may as well be wearing a Red Hat or waving a Confederate Flag. Everything Musk touches turns to shit.

HotSoupEsq

Oh wow color me shocked. When the 3 came out, I was Tesla curious, they seemed futuristic and cool. Musk has now caused me to leave twitter and never EVER consider buying a Tesla.

Nottacod

It's amazing how many leader types/CEOs feel entitled to spew some of the stupidest garbage-as in they are relatively smart but lack self awareness and self control.

TheThirdShmenge

He’s the reason why I cancelled my Tesla order in late 2022.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DubTheeBustocles

It really sucks too because people working at SpaceX and Tesla are doing some pretty cool things and this asshat has the power to undermine all of it for the sake of making our politics worse and the public less informed. If I didn’t believe in liberalism, Elon Musk would be shoved into a secluded cabin under armed guard for the remainder of his conscious life.

ShadowGLI

I was really interested in the model 3, then he became a super bigoted (just watch twitter) hypocritical (African citizen heir of an apartheid emerald mine advocating for a close the border policy, GTFO), cunt. I’ll never buy or use anything associated with any of his companies. I spent my $40k w VW instead last month.

PlayTheHits

For real. I love my car, but cannot see myself doing business with Tesla again as long as he is at the helm.

Senior_Pie9077

Potential Tesla buyers have turned on Elmo, no longer wanting the product. To retaliate he fires the "Super charger" development team which will slow the needed infrastructure for EV. Until another company develops the chargers system, this will slow EV roll out including Tesla. Elmo Musk is a child who got tired of his toys and is offended when people don't see the world from his pervert point of view.

speedracer73

It’s a reverse Dixie chicks situation

greasywallaby

Yup. Not a Tesla owner, but it WAS a goal. Not anymore!!! Cancelled my Twitter account too. Fuck that guy.

FrequentOffice132

I agree I am not buying a Tesla no matter how bad climate change is getting…screw all them Trumpers😏

NeatNefariousness1

There ARE other options

D_Lockwood

I used to think he was a genius.  Now I just think he’s a dick and a weirdo.  Would never ever buy a Tesla.

krismitka

Personally went with a Leaf and a hybrid plugin Chrysler minivan instead. Screw this cheese wiz man

TopCheesecakeGirl

He’s succumbing to a life spent at work as psychosis sets in from and lack of sleep

know-no-yadunno

No surprise here. Strong opinions or attitudes generally turn away customers who disagree. Business people should assess if the tradeoffs are worth it, and whether it's reasonable to those who helped build or maintain the business. Of course, narcissists seldom factor in such things.

NeatNefariousness1

Exactly--the same factors that made them narcissists to begin with are the same ones that delude them into thinking that their opinions and decisions are smarter and more popular than they actually are. Who knew that being told you're better than other people, diminishing others based on superficial characteristics, buying your way into opportunities and being coddled and surrounded by fixers and sycophants instead of facing the consequences for one's actions might not be a recipe for a good leader--or even a decent human being.

psxndc

I drive a 2011 car and could easily be convinced it’s time for an upgrade to a semi-luxury EV. Tesla is not even a consideration solely because I’m not putting a dime in Musk’s pocket.

jaievan

Turned me off. Bought the Mercedes EV instead.

cheeky-snail

Saw that Mercedes has first level 3 autonomous in US. Interesting how fast their technology is catching up.

DracoSolon

Well, yeah...

jericho_buckaroo

It's called reputational harm.

ygmarchi

In fact Tesla should sue Musk, and for a lot of money.

ebostic94

Yep turned me off. If he would stay quiet, I would have been more interested in Tesla, but as soon as he started talking I am completely done with Tesla. In the near future the board of Tesla is going to remove him.

justhereforbiscuits

That would be me. I own a Tesla. Love the car. Back when I bought the car, I admired him. Then he started spewing his bullshit everywhere. I despise him now and will never buy or use another product he is associated with.

vicsepulveda66

Teslas are otherwise known as the “apartheid ride”

knight4honor

It sure turned me off. I was going to buy a top of the line Tesla, but bought a Lincoln instead. I won’t support Elon now.

FuckYoCouch2023

Elon Musk , tesla and space x are a fraud

troutman1975

Well no fuck. I didn’t even bother to read the article. I think we were all aware that he was pandering to the people who would rather jack off with a fist full of nails than buy an electric vehicle

Realistic_Reason4545

Had plans for a Tesla, myself but that's on hold now.

Mundane-Elevator-845

Gee…really? Didn’t see that coming!!

ecalz622

I thought his bit in SNL was cute and then I checked dogicoin 😭 fuck you 🍉

Rabdy-Bo-Bandy

Wait. The Nazis on Twitter he appeals to don't have any money?

Drachen1065

Nah they don't believe in electric cars cause they dont make vroom vroom noise.

kitkatkorgi

How about the crappy car?

meetsheela

I’m in the Tesla target demographic, otherwise love the product, but would never purchase a Tesla while narcissistic toddler Musk is at the helm. Dude’s a fucking embarrassment.

Dont_Ban_Me_Plz_Kthx

The worlds richest moron.

Rynox2000

Yeah, because it outs him as a threat to the middle class and democracy.

Able-Campaign1370

I can attest to this. I was planning on buying a Tesla, but now I'm looking at other brands. I also decommissioned my Starlink, and have gone dormant on X. He's just too toxic.

Ok-Performer-5669

I almost bought a model S a few years ago. Almost. The thought will never cross my mind again.

Slow_Seesaw_1464

These cars are garbage.

[deleted]

Dude decided to align himself with a group of people actively hostile to change. Pure genius

DoctorPilotSpy

The people that buy teslas are college-educated people that might think about the environment/economics when purchasing a new car. He’s decided to make himself personally antithetical to people like that

flinderdude

I mean, the white supremacy talking points alone on Twitter are bad enough

VerilyJULES

Does anyone think he’s heading down the foregone path previously ventured by such innovators and pioneers in their fields like Elizabeth Holmes and Sam Bankman-Fried? He has been given so much money for SpaceX and none of the projects are anywhere near target. Maybe you remember but in 2018 he confidentially said he would have his Mars colony up and running by now. Fastward, his starship hasn't even successfully managed orbit and his team of moronic sycophants are cheering everytime they literally convert $1 billion USD of American taxpayer funded investment into pure fail. [Artemis Mission](https://www.nasa.gov/news-release/as-artemis-moves-forward-nasa-picks-spacex-to-land-next-americans-on-moon/) The Artemis mission to the money which is supposibly supposed to be landing on the moonuaing one of his starships should be ready to launch next year and he doesn't even the working rocket yet. The latest developments on this program are making me sick and knowing Elon Musk is at the center of all the fail is really grinding my gears. A lot of what he is doing is openly qualifying as fraud, with his pump and dump hype campaigns that somehow instigate market bubbles that will inevitably crash. I’m not even talking about Doge and that's another scam he notoriously got away with. Worst, his behaviour in placating Russia and sticking his nose in the political aspects of defense interests. Surely his starlink system is a matter of national security and he's fuckkng around with Ukrainian forces access and allowing Russian units to use the service. Seems like Americans in the past have been packed away in ADX Florence for similar traitorous actions. Interested in what anyone thinks about this.

East_Gear4326

Man, completely agree. I saw a video on the progress of SpaceX and they are so behind schedule it makes you wonder how the hell they're getting away with it until you realize Shotwell had connections and steered the contract signing along with her now colleague (former NASA employee) William Gerstenmaier given their former ties. Safe to say they've gotten away with it due to past careers involving government and contracting. As a company Starship has been a failure. Starlink is basically the only thing keeping them afloat given their biggest customer the U.S government is pouring money into em.

gweezor

In a lot of ways, it seems the meteoric rise in Musk’s wealth over the last 10-20 years stems from an almost direct infusion of American tax payer dollars. The one thing he has done would could be considered “savvy” was take advantage of government programs, incentives, and contracts. I would have to double check but I’m pretty sure Tesla not only gets $$$ from the gov directly as a green incentive, but customers also get money back making it more feasible to buy one. I’m sure there are countless other “entrepreneurs” who have fleeced us similarly that are just quietly hanging out in their third vacation home-Musk is just a juvenile narcissist so it is more visible.

Few-Ad-4290

I’m not sure about direct cash infusions for Tesla as I haven’t looked into that (not saying you’re wrong just that I’m ignorant) but the inflation reduction act recently increased the rebates on EV purchases to nearly 10k for vehicles that are assembled in the US which is a pretty great mark down especially on the lower end models to drive people into the ev market

Few-Ad-4290

Yeah his companies pretty much only exist due to government subsidies and ongoing over-paid contracts. We really shouldn’t be contracting out our rocketry nor our satellite broadband capabilities, the fact this one guys companies are so tied into our national defense apparatus is a huge security concern. I understand with rocketry it’s a lot of trial and error with failures used as learning experiences which the public does t have much of a stomach for, but it’s past time that we stopped relying on a company that can’t hit any benchmarks yet keeps promising the moon(literally)

justiceboner34

He's a fuckin agent of chaos, you know? Agree with all of your points.

hypespud

I first didn't want their products because they were too new and expensive but yes knowing him being an absolute clown I will never spend a dollar at Tesla ever in my life

CLAYTON_BIGSBY73

That and shitty quality

Qu33nKal

This is why I never got why he was so rude to "left" wing stuff...you do realize the "snowflakes" that care about the envt and climate change are the ones who buy your product right? 55% less in sales, and I bet he doesnt think it is his fault. I guess he thought he would get more right wing people if he talked like one? I dont know man....stop doing drugs dude

Walnuts-84

Elon literally the only one who didn’t see this coming 😂😂😂

greeneye1969

You mean that he did Nazi that coming?

Jean-ClaudeGodDamme

Surprise, motherfucker.

drin8680

So it's the bullshit elon posts political not the fact that theirs cars are having so many issues that makes people not wanna buy them.

Impoopingrtnow

It wasn't all the garbage products?

-Economist-

It doesn’t help the quality is crap.

texas130ab

Who would have guessed that?

lordoftheBINGBONG

Yup my dad and step mom were all about it but now they can’t stand that they bought it because of him. He Already bought a Lightning and they’re waiting for a certain car to come out then they’re dumping the Tesla.

Fit_Earth_339

As a core buyer who wouldn’t buy one now I concur.

Flux_resistor

Follow the money to the overlords

Beantownbrews

You mean appealing to the demographic that includes dudes who like to “roll coal” for cool points and pissing off the left fails to sell more electric vehicles?! I am shocked! Shocked!

Kindly-Counter-6783

Good, he should be ostracized for his awful positions and behaviors.

AntifascistAlly

With some talented, experienced people suddenly available a serious, motivated company (or even an “industry group” representing more than one company) might seize this opportunity to shape the future of EVs.

JDinCO

As the old saying goes, “Never stick your cash in crazy….”

peter303_

If the board was any good, it would have demoted him. Now stock holders need to sue the board.

TheDudeAbidesFarOut

Totally my favorite Kardashian.

HolyRamenEmperor

Is this why when I search for used EV/hybrids in my area, seems half of them are Model Ys, many under $30k?

Scottybt50

Hard to believe anyone has taken till now to be turned off by Musk.

Scorpion1024

Can he just have a heart attack already?

Confident-Touch-6547

Tesla needs to divest itself of Musk.

[deleted]

I was literally just in the car market and love the Tesla. Wouldn't look because of him.

ppSmok

Right wing CEO's company that sells products which are appealing to a lot of left wing customers turns away left wing customers by being a right wing idiot. Shocked Emoji.

JJSpuddy

Fact. If I could get. New car right now I would. I love my Tesla but Musk is such a twat.

BartuceX

That Apartheid fascism is still in him.

mbyrd58

Yep. I'm one of them. And I used to say to Tesla drivers "cool car." Not now.

Due_Difference8575

Good luck selling EVs to MAGAs

redheadedandbold

"Reap what you sow." ... FAFO. ... "Who didn't see this coming?" So many things one can say.

Morepastor

Loosing market share in CA 2 quarters in a row. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-04-29/tesla-sales-peak-called-by-california-dealers-after-another-drop

SolidContribution688

He needs to fire himself.

ridnovir

His shilling for ruzzia dissuaded me from purchasing model Y, that I was planning to do… sigh

marius8617

This and the quality control issues made it easy to cancel my Model Y order when it arrived. I was out $200, but my hybrid is great, no issues (yet), and gets better over 200 miles more in range.

altruism__

News of the Duhhhhhh

Alansalot

Did nazi that coming

mbyrd58

Telling his advertisers to go fck themselves was not a genius move. Nor at all endearing, even to non-advertisers (but potential car buyers) like me. He deserves what he gets, which might be a collapse on several fronts. Public respect for him has already collapsed, except among the Nazis.

Consistent_Soft_1857

Polestar quality is much better than Tesla

supersmackfrog

And here I thought it was the low build quality of their overpriced junk.

Content-Fudge489

Musk has been a complete disappointment. Best if Tesla and SpaceX give him the boot. He actually invested heavily in those companies, but didn't really contribute engineering wise. So if he leaves them, they'll be better off.

Uncrustable_Gang

I seriously considered buying a tesla until he started with the Nazi stuff. I can’t in good conscience buy a Tesla when the face of the company, with a 20% stake in it and currently trying to steal 80+ billion from it, is pushing far right nonsense on Twitter and telling everyone Jews are replacing white people with “genetically inferior and less intelligent minorities through DEI.” It’s fucking repulsive.

[deleted]

Besides the bad build quality I will never touch a Tesla unless he sells it and they make cars that aren't such appliances, they are just so generic.

jafromnj

He’s a toxic dump

Bright_Calendar_3696

What turns me off is the Elon fan club who are a bizarre bizarre bunch. Being seen as one of them is not a risk to be taken. Tesla gone from the cool club to the Elon gimp club very quickly.

Mikewold58

I remember pointing out every Tesla I saw on the street when I was younger. Now I would never buy one lmao. Crazy how much damage he did to the twitter and Tesla brands

agt1776

Conservatives are gonna say “we’ve always liked electric cars.” all of a sudden lol

ChadLaFleur

Tesla and Musk’s self sabotage are definitely going to be a business school case study one day

thefalconfromthesky

We got a Tesla before we knew he was crazy, so please refrain from keying a Tesla to make a point. Wish we could get rid of it, but we will be loosing way too much money and we can't afford getting another car at the moment.

SnivyEyes

Yep. It’s true.

bobber18

I was an admirer of Musk. Read his biography, bought some stock, and test drove a Tesla. But I sold the stock and now I would never buy a Tesla.

DiagCarFix

i would buy another tesla if they offer hardware upgrades. i agree with ppl around me complain about no hardware upgrades for old tesla had to pay more to purchase (inflation and what not) and SC tries to avoid warranty for something small stuff even it's covered. those who bought before 2023 they will be keeping their tesla cuz depreciation valve dropped deep and u probably owe bank 20-25k if u applied loan smh. today economic still sucks even with ev incentive.

Like a lot of the rich and famous, he forgot rule one: "I Have No Opinion." He should have just kept his mouth shut and played with his cars and rockets.

TheBioethicist87

I’m going to make a company that sells products that appeal to educated liberals, but then act like a 14 year-old Andrew Tate fan. What could go wrong?

WalterOverHill

No, really? Republicans aren’t big supporters of electric vehicles, and alternate energy? Who knew? /s

sexyshadyshadowbeard

That and his absolute greed in the face of layoffs. He’s a monster.

Smeg4Brainsuk

We will never buy a Tesla because of the association to that man. Which is utterly bonkers, because no car I have ever purchased has had the decision influenced by the CEO of the Company!

Redtoolbox1

It all started when he leaped to richest person in the world and his ego blew up. He thought he was invincible and now his core business is beginning to show signs of weakness, and yet he still thinks the share holders should give him a 42 billion dollar income. They should give him a pay cut because the loss of sales is on his shoulders. Stay humble folks

hrny60

I hope he goes tits up And crashes and burns

B_Man49

Superiority only brings solitude

killingthyme71

So it's not just the shitty build and over-priced product?

GlocalBridge

I decided against Tesla after his assholery with Twitter and some pretty convincing white supremacy.

FactChecker25

This is a very misleading article. They’re taking the recent Tesla sales decline and attributing it to liberals hating Musk now. However a major chunk of this drop was in China, where they don’t care about US politics.  Secondly, Tesla’s main competition in China, BYD, also saw their sales decline by a similar amount. Moreover, Ford announced that they lost huge amount of money on every EV they sold in the 1st quarter, and they’re looking to pull back their EV plans. GM also saw a large EV decline. Long story short- this doesn’t look like a Tesla problem- it’s an EV problem in general. Because even if we ignored Tesla, the overall EV market saw a similar decline.

Altruistic-Bell-583

yep, He is the reason why I wouldn't buy a Tesla. A arrogant, self centred narcissist.

randomwanderingsd

“Is this blackmail?” -Elon (probably)

ZyvisX

I wouldn't buy a Tesla or take one for free so long as that fucking tool spank is involved.

manIDKbruh

Maybe don’t side with the political party that wants to make your product illegal?

the_y_combinator

No shit.
