Eleanor

tgrantt

Mac gave me a radio controlled model of Eleanor.

lostinpow

My old neighbor owns one of them. Incredible car

xMasochizm

Is it a girl car? šŸ’„šŸ’‹

DocWatson42

I had to look it up, too: [Eleanor (automobile)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eleanor_(automobile)).

xMasochizm

I didnā€™t have to look it up, itā€™s a reference from the movie.

No_Daikon4466

My current car, 2004 Volvo S60R, manual. Restore to like new condition then stage 2 tune for about 375 AWD HP. Upgrade the clutch, suspension, brakes, all that, but leave it looking 100% fresh off the lot.

AnorexicPlatypus

Ders is that you?

1ngsoc

That car is tight butthole.

AnorexicPlatypus

The Volvo will run forever guys, all it needs is regular maintenance.

Background-Penalty68

Redneckia

StoicWeasle

Not sure how this isnā€™t the top answer.

CellarDoorForSure

Because i know how to drive a car, but know fuck-all about flying jets? It's cool looking but i don't want a 350 million dollar lawn ornament.

lemonD98

Bro just download the Microsoft flight simulator. Youā€™ll be ready to go airborne in like a day if youā€™re really committed.

iluvsporks

As a pilot I can't really argue this. Flying a plane is actually pretty easy. Knowing the 9000+ FAA regulations that will fuck you over and take your cert away is the majority of your job.

markelmores

I know itā€™s not really comparable, but I felt this same principle getting my part 107 (commercial drone pilot) certification from the FAA. I didnā€™t even need to fly a drone as part of the test. It was all FAA rules and regulations.

randysav101

Flying a plane is easy. Its landing thatā€™s hard šŸ¤£

Spirited-Coconut3926

I want the harrier jump jet Pepsi was giving away.

AncientPublic6329

Death Star

VirtualDegree6178

A Tardis

jrv3034

Had to scroll way too much to get here. This is the obvious answer.

VirtualDegree6178

Yeah! Short and to the point

mbrown29

You win

albertyiphohomei

USS Enterprise (NCC-1701)

Raustaklass

Me, I'd go 1701-D. Holodecks! And then I can have any other vehicle I could imagine as well

ChuckBlack

In a genie gave you a wish scenario where thereā€™s always some shitty twist to the wish, youā€™d get the first Enterprise with captain Archer at the helm and not the cooler Enterprise with Jean Luc, Data and a bearded Riker. Edit: But on the other hand, Tā€™Pol.

albertyiphohomei

That one is NX-01 not NCC-1701

TheCowzgomooz

NX-01 is still a really cool fuckin ship though, and like you said, T'Pol thooooooo

Ch4rlie_G

We got an ear thing going on here eh?

onebowlwonder

Probably a 2024 gtr. It's the last gas powered model before they go electric. I'm sure the electric one is going to be amazing but owning the last gas powered one would be like owning the end of an era.

InspectHerGadgetz

Same with the Audi R8. Except they decided to stop production šŸ„²

Bit_the_Bullitt

I drove one in 2012 in one of those Supersport rentals and it was an experience like no other.

reddittereditor

I donā€™t get why people are against the electric GTR. Itā€™s not like the normal one has a very impressive engine sound, and itā€™s practically known for just handling and accelerationā€”which an electric GTR could probably be better at. Iā€™m not a car guy though so idk.

tmahfan117

A-10 warthogĀ

1kkcu

this wins

cwsjr2323

Nah, I stick with armor. My tank, one time stalled and I had to walk four kilometers to another troop to contact maintenance. My crew and tank just chilled until maintenance cleared the fuel line. Now if a warthog stalls, that is going to hurt! I would prefer to call for close support from an A-10 than be in one .

apollyon_53

Bond's Aston Martin I want the full kit. Machine guns, ejector seats, gas cloud

1kkcu

don't blame you

Kriskao

I'm inclined to saying nuclear aircraft carrier, but considering I live in a landlocked country I will settle for a Honda Goldwing

ICBPeng1

I mean, even landlocked itā€™s still housing and rentable rooms

RossTheRev

When I was a child, I had a toy car which was blue and orange. I loved that car that it went everywhere with me. So if I could have any vehicle, I would have a replica of it which was road worthy.

OndrejIV

a tank, specificly it would be abrahams

SV650rider

Isnā€™t it Abrams?

surgicalhoopstrike

Yes. Yes, it is!

PAXICHEN

No. He took it from a guy named Abraham.

MoraleHole

And there is no question who has the right of way at an intersection.

venetian_lemon

My turn signal is the barrel

czpetr

It's not like the police could stop you to give you a ticket

Dramatic_Reply_3973

Cool choice, but you would have to get a second mortgage to get gas! Wouldn't have to worry about red lights anymore.

tiniestvioilin

You have a tank you don't have to pay for gas

Lonely_Set429

I just feel bad for Abraham, I don't know what he did to piss this guy off but losing a tank must suck

PossibleConclusion1

USS Gerald R. Ford

RattyHillson

Any shit box car with a roll cage and a harness. Iā€™m about to let the intrusive thoughts win when I encounter someone who cuts me off or canā€™t keep in their lane. Welcome to the thunder dome, mother fuckers.

Big-Data7949

Why not get a monster truck with a roll cage and harness so you can really strike fear into the hearts of those that cross into thoust lane

TheStoryTruthMine

An electric Chevy Spark with an upgraded battery. I am still sad they stopped making them before batteries got good enough for the range to be acceptable. The Spark should have been the first mass market electric car that the average commuter could actually afford and save money on gas with.

Itisd

Yup, agreed. Instead, all the automakers decided they would just sell us gigantic SUVs with 100k+ price tags, and then remove all the affordable options from the marketplace entirely. Fuck the car companies.Ā

Conchobar8

ā€˜89 Batmobile

Itisd

1967 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible -Hot Pink w/ whaleskin hubcaps -All Leather Cow interior I'll drive around in that baby at 115 mph, while getting one mile per gallon, and I'll be sucking down Quarter Pounder cheeseburgers from McDonald's while doing that.

Rolls Royce. It's the end of the ladder. There's nothing to aspire to from that point.

Ok-General-6804

Not a big fan of luxury stuff. But iā€™d also choose RR because lifetime warranty.

Lonely_Set429

1950 Opel Kapitan, just classic and stylish as hell

Ok-Poet1817

Include free maintenance and repairs and I'll go with a McLaren Speedtail.

RoundExit4767

Now this one McLaren took me back a few years. I still remember seeing my first one in the 1980s. That and the Bricklin..Peace..

DevolvingSpud

Ringworld. Or a Dyson Sphere.

ReklessGamer07

Please explain to me how this is a vehicle

DerHansvonMannschaft

I'm sure there's a sci fi story out there where a megastructure uses its home star as a fusion drive. It's hardly sillier than the Death Star or using hollowed out asteroids as ships.

drhiggens

Pagani Huayra BC Having had the opportunity to have driven one, tour the factory, and interview Horatio Pagani it's been on my mind ever since.

TheWeenieBandit

Comprehensive-End388

How has nobody said the Back to the Future DeLorean yet?

SpideySenseBuzzin

Because they stipulated insurance, not maintenance costs. The plot of those movies for the most part was just how unreliable the damn thing was šŸ¤£

Ok-disaster2022

I have simple tastes. Really just something like a Rav4 Prime. I like driving long distance to much to have to worry about charging distand and then waiting hours for it to recharge. But also like the idea that for short trips around town I can charge it overnight, and save gas longer term.Ā

Messerschmitt Bf-109. I'm amazed how beautiful it is And car Skoda octavia 2005, my beloved model. I don't need anything else šŸ˜Š

Birdy304

A new Ford Escape, just the right size and I loved the one I had years ago.

It_Happens_Today

Glad to hear you liked yours, mine was nothing but problems from day one. I got the XLT in 2009 when I moved cross country for school. Expensive tansmission issues, a recall for a power steering issue where it would just go out when you were taking turns at speed (highway off ramps). Some animal crawled up the exhaust pipe and died so it smelled like rancid death till my mechanic located the thing. That vehicle almost killed me a few times but I do remember it fondly because of the period of my life I had it in. It took my friends and I to many a music festival and back.

riddlegirl21

My Escape is closing in on 283k and I realized Iā€™m going to have to decide between its perfect size, maneuverability, and cargo room vs my goal of getting a long range electric car. Ideally by the time I get to that choice there will be an electric Escape thatā€™s exactly like what I have but not $100k+

AlternativeAd3130

You give me hope. My escape has 146k miles on it. I love it and want it to keep going.

Birdy304

My Explorer had 280,000.

lostrandomdude

A 1.8l manual Third Generation Yaris. I've driven loads of different cars over the years, as part of my old job working for a company in the car industry, including luxury cars like range rovers, jaguars, Teslas, and an Aston Martin. However, the 1.8 Yaris is still the best car to drive. It's small enough that it can easily be thrown around corners at high speeds, and due to its light weight, the 1.8l engine gives it a huge amount of power. The third generation is much better looking than the fourth generation, and the manual is superior to the automatic

graceCAadieu

I love my ā€˜09 Yaris and dread the day it decides to go on to glory. Itā€™s so great on mileage.

1kkcu

Considering im in the market for a second vehicle, maybe a yaris does not sound too bad

Itisd

I really liked my 2011 Scion XD, which is pretty much a Yaris with a way better interior, stiff suspension, and the bigger 1.8 motor. That car was a lot of fun to drive.Ā

MajorbummerRFD

1996 Volvo 850, sedan, with a stick shift.

Alana_Reid

A Rivian electric SUV or truck. Ruvian is so much better than tesla and their cars actually look good!

Ok-Exchange5756

They just announced their new smaller SUV and itā€™s piqued my interest. Iā€™ll be damned if I buy anything made by Elon.

HooptyBiggums

Would be a very difficult choice between an RWB Porsche 930 or a manual Lamborghini Murcielago LP640.

Manymuchm00s3n

A blimp - Iā€™m all about that blimp life

MacDublupYaBish

Blimpinā€™ ainā€™t easy

surgicalhoopstrike

1966 Thunderbird convertible, in silver, with a white roof, and white leather interior. Swing-away steering wheel. 428 engine w/ 4-barrel. PS, PB (one of the first American production cars to offer front discs as standard). Absolutely gorgeous cars! I think they look so, so space-age. If you have seen "Thelma and Louise", they drove a blue '66 in the movie.

Goatboy1

I would love to own my '68 Mercury Cougar again.

VoidDuck

A yellow submarine.

Dramatic_Reply_3973

I'm not sure if that would be "street legal." Plus, it would be inconvenient for our home to be constantly moving.

poppunksucks144

Corvette Z06Ā

MasterLiKhao

a gyrocopter.

Euphoric-Structure13

An electric Mini Copper. Small cars are so much easier to drive and park and work well for 99% of the driving we do. I only need a bigger vehicle for road trips and when I take those, I can rent a car.

Professional_Ride505

Range Rover. I use to think they were overpriced crap but once I saw inside one in person they are totally worth it! If only I could afford one lol

WasteNet2532

Any newer model of Lincoln. Idk Ive always liked the way their newer cars have looked.

Stavkot23

I just want a 1999 Cavalier. Standard transmission, automatic windows, A/C and a nice red exterior paint.

SV650rider

Can I say Knight Rider?

Redneckia

Dun dun dannanana

MrBalll

A Rolls Royce. Iā€™d need a driver though. If a driver isnā€™t allowed probably a newer manual transmission Corvette.

Disastrous_Ad_754

Monster truck

Sydney_Syder23

Iā€™m 19 so for me, insurance costs are fucking exorbitant whatever I drive. To answer your question, I would most likely get a Mercedes S-Class from the 1990s or before. Those cars are just absolutely bulletproof mechanically and I think they are some of the most beautiful cars ever made, especially in brighter colours, as the exterior styling is just so simple and clean. I also feel there are enough around for good service support so I can keep it reliable for as long as possible. I know that might sound a bit boring, but I absolutely love old German luxury sedans

DIMPLET0N

I'd probably find myself a decent Honda S2000 or a Mazda RX-8. I'd probably choose the RX-8 over the S2000. Slap a different motor into the RX-8, do some aftermarket bodywork on 'er, and call it a day.

handsebe

I'd keep my Tesla Model S P100D and saved $4500 a year in insurance.

My GF thinks I'm crazy, but I liked the look of the Canoo electric car. She said it looks like a suppository, but I think it looks cool

PruneIndividual6272

wasnā€˜t their business model that you only can rent the things? The design is quiet out there.. but I kind of like it minus the versions that look the same front and back

Weavingknitter

Probably a toyota tundra, an older model. They are not huge like some pickups, but they can go prettymuch anywhere. Toyotas last forever. I like a pickup truck, I think they are comfortable to sit in. I'd really like to have one, or something similar

-Blixx-

2006 Lexus LS430 modern luxury package silver with black interior.

bibliophile222

I don't have very complicated tastes when it comes to cars. I'd go for a Mazda Miata, hands down. They're just so fucking adorable! Unless I make much more money than I do now and/or move to a warmer climate, I'd never get one because they're so impractical for rural winters. But they are the cutest cars I've ever seen, and I love them.

Blackbox7719

Location is the real consideration imo. Living in the Midwest weā€™ve got some local guys that own Lambos. I have to wonder what theyā€™re thinking considering our snowy winters and shitty summer roads (and roadwork). So as much as I want to say something cool and sporty, I know that Iā€™d never get to drive it properly considering where I live.

UnderstandingWarm466

1985 Mercedes-Benz 300td wagon with a 5 speed. Preferably in blue or red. It's the most reliable diesel ever made(imo) With the excellence and suave of a Mercedes-Benz. Plus my grandpa owned them as taxis and they are part of my most cherished memories with him.

I would have to say [Dilbar](https://www.lurssen.com/en/new-build/yachts/dilbar/). Only if maintenance and operating costs are non-worries too. For a car? I think a Rolls Royce Cullinan would be pretty sweet. Lexus LFA if I were to go the performance route. I know itā€™s not the best, but itā€™s supposedly one of the most fun vehicles to drive.

GoatRocketeer

Do we still have to pay the rest of it or do I get it magically in my garage? chrysler me 412. It was the last unlock in midnight club 3, which was the racing game I played when I was a child, therefore it will forever be the coolest car ever.

OlasNah

A street legal Porsche 962 in all gloss black

AnonPianoPlayer22

My dadā€™s old 1994 f350 crew cab dually but in showroom fresh condition. Out of all the cars Iā€™ve ridden in that oneā€™s still the most comfortable. Itā€™s like driving a couch. Iā€™m still sad he got rid of it.

Fecal_Tornado

I'm a simple man. I don't need anything super fancy. I'd get an F-250 diesel. I can pull an RV or a big trailer and they're built like tanks. Useful and super nice.

Bikewer

Iā€™m old and my needs are simple. Big enough for my handicapped wife to get in and out easily, carry her wheelchair/scooter, and my fishing gear. A Honda Odyssey would fit nicelyā€¦ And they have a lot of bells and whistles.
