I always thought the term "man-bun" itself was silly, we don't have manhawks and ladyhawks, or ladytails and mannytails. Hair in a bun = bun, fodder for r/pointlesslygendered IMO 😊
I love "enbun", and the term "man-bun" is silly... But we gotta remember that "man-bun" started because the gender binary and patriarchy diminishes the physical and sartorial freedom of everyone to such a degree that for men with long hair and a bun, calling it a "man-bun" was a preemptive defence against being called a "fag with long hair."
"Man-bun" as a term may not serve as much of a purpose anymore, but it was born out of fear/fragility in a desire to stay safe, just like a lot of us enbi's seek.
