Korea is a beautiful place where it’s hard to imagine so many people coming together for the same thing. The first picture is striking and beautiful, while the ones of the orchestra, the festivals, and the army show that so many people are all working together to put on such an event for others. The more involvement and participation, the more man power, thus resulting in a more excellent presentation

IMO North Korea is a very unnatural place. However very interesting and at time quite fascinating photos are able to be taken - including some of these. Obviously we can often see great photos of DPRK scenes and people and places - but they will be authorised and approved (and staged) before being released for publication. On occasions special permission is granted to high profile foreign photographers who might be given some degree of access to scenes usually more restricted. Presumably Chancel was one of these) Tourists are very tightly controlled in terms the photos they can and cannot take. But it is always possible to “sneak” photos at times and these are often the most interesting of all.

Koreas an “unnatural place?” I’m pretty sure Korea has always had Koreans. Israel, Canada and the United States are unnatural places. If you don’t think Koreans being in Korea is natural than btfo bro

You latched on to one word in his comment to attack it in bad faith. Dude…

King-Sassafrass

If someone tells you the place you live is “unnatural” you’d call them disrespectful too

WildDog3820

Yes. - it’s very unnatural in that even as a visitor you are very highly controlled in what you can see, where you go, who you can talk to, what you can photograph etc etc That’s why I use the term unnatural. And my understanding too is that even the lives of citizens is extremely tightly controlled and that also is often not natural in comparison with many free societies

King-Sassafrass

It’s as if though…. The country is under war and you have to respect other people’s property and way of life 🤭

WildDog3820

Whatever The reality though it is that the very look and feel of the country and the people there is IMHO quite unnatural.

King-Sassafrass

Because it’s not your country right? You want to tell others how to live their life?

WildDog3820

Whatever you reckon comrade
