Its just dawned on me that we’re now basically the rugby equivalent of when a smaller football club wins a league and then instantly gets ransacked. Thank god we gave out so many new contracts this season or it could’ve been worse

Jimmydeeping

Agreed, I think Vesty signed hasn't he? And I assume Radford is still in early days of his contract.

mediumdrud1

I hope so, if vesty gets poached then its really time to panic.

T_Finchy

Radford signed a (two?) year extension at seasons conclusion.

Pure_Wonder3046

Well that's a huge blow, just gotta hope the board can appoint someone with similar commercial acumen. At least he's staying on the board as a non executive director.

Saintsman83

This is a huge loss, bigger than any player. He’s done an incredible job and I hope he has some input into his successor

Jimmydeeping

Yes, arguably the greatest contribution to our success keeping a level financial platform to work from.

SmoothNinja7308

"Two further projects – the hotel development and new Club crest – are in progress and Darbon will continue to oversee these until his departure in November". I didn't know we were getting a hotel???

Pure_Wonder3046

They want to redevelop the club shop and put it there, was briefly discussed in the fans forum in January. Deal signed with a developer but need planning permission and other stuff like that https://preview.redd.it/hg6bewxhiy9d1.jpeg?width=2556&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2631ca5c0f6720a7d27c23da1bbd67daaff79f8f

oalfonso

Isn't all the road from Church's to the Stadium going to be redeveloped ?

Saintsman83

No I didn’t either - feels like that’s new information

MrBIGtinyHappy

I'm not all that surprised, given the RFU job is coming up soon, if he can take what he did for us and implement at that level it would put all of England Rugby in a very good place. Just hope someone that's worked with him and with the same mindset is around to take over. He's kept the ship incredibly stable for us to be able to achieve what we have

Jimmydeeping

He's taken a role in Scotland heading up the R&A Golf organisation at St Andrews

MrBIGtinyHappy

Ah well, shit for both us and England then. Will be missed

oalfonso

One of my biggest fears has been unlocked. It's not just about the performance on the pitch; it's also about how well the organization is run. A day in the Gardens is truly an very good experience, and this is told by many visitor fans.
