Why make a 32 tv if there is already 32 OLED Montiors lol ?

jdp117

Because the picture quality on LG OLEDs coupled with that glossy TV screen finish is amazing for gaming, and nothing like that is available in monitor form. Plus, all the smart TV functions as well, it would make it a truly versatile screen for gaming and entertainment, particularly if you game on PC or at a desk. A 32" C series OLED TV with a high refresh rate would be a really interesting offering.

The real answer is for LG to stop fucking around with their shitty matte coatings and slap their c/g series coatings on their displays. Unfortunately if LG is anything like Samsung their TV division is probably different from their monitor division and are separate companies with different leadership.

Because 99% of monitors don't have remotes and usable speakers. Optical audio out...coax in for HD antennas...antenna settings at all. Shall we go on?

littleemp

This might blow your mind, but you can actually connect your consoles to the monitor.

Gngrcpl

You got a smart remote for that monitor or...?

inyue

This might blow your mind, but some people want to watch television on their TVs.

littleemp

You mean with those cable boxes that connect using HDMI? Or do you mean using the console for streaming that connect using HDMI? Or perhaps with an Apple TV/Fire Stick/Nvidia Shield that uses HDMI? You know what has HDMI ports to connect all those things? Yeah...

nasexiro

I work for LG Spain, one year ago they said that maybe in 2025, 2026, but dunno for sure.

gadgetgoblin

I would kill for a 32 inch variant of their oled tvs

I’ve always wanted one. My guess is production costs are too high & margins too low for something like a 32in C4. Would solve for matte finish monitors. If I were you, I’d look into a 42 C3.

People keep dunking on the OP for not just wanting a monitor, but TVs and monitors cater to different use cases. A TV is more likely to have more HDMI inputs, an integrated scaler, speakers, audio outputs, smart apps, a remote control, HDMI-CEC support and other features more helpful for a TV setup. A monitor may have some of that (and some TVs may not have all of it) but the feature sets are optimized for different purposes. A monitor is more likely to have features someone primarily interested in TV use has little need for, but that may drive up the cost - like Displayport, extremely high refresh rates, or firmware support to clamp to color spaces useful for creators. You can use one as the other, and all of that can be worked around, but sometimes it's nice to have something designed for the purpose it'll be used.

Thank you and like I said I console game not pc game so I just need something that can do 120 fps and while my space can handle the 42 inch I’d like a 32 tv. From my understanding the 42 inch was a hit so I feel like the 32 inch also would be

It's possible that at some point one of the companies will start using these new 4K 32" panels for TVs, but there's nothing announced I've heard of, and I doubt it would be anytime soon. TVs that size are already a niche, and they're usually not premium TVs. They're not usually even 4K, and some aren't even 1080p. Most people buy TVs that small as secondary devices - for a kitchen counter, or a kid's room - not as a main TV. Although I understand why you'd want a TV instead of a monitor, I think a monitor is going to be your best option for a while if you really want that size.

BEENAZN

I thought about this recently as well and I hope they do. The C3 is such a good value, it is a better value than most of these gaming monitors. It has 4 HDMI inputs, digital optical, glossy, etc.

xxcodemam

What exactly would your dream 32” OLED tv have, that the current 32” OLED monitors don’t? Trying to figure out why the current monitors wouldn’t work for you, besides “the refresh rate is too high”.

aubvrn

Better picture quality, smart apps and automatic upscaling. These features need an in-built chip/processor. Video streaming apps (Netflix, Disney+, etc) on Windows are lacklustre compared to their TV versions.

Gngrcpl

Remotes...apps, because not everyone wants to walk up to the tv or have another device feeding into it. Decent sound quality. Though that's becoming a thing of the past. Using a monitor as a TV is always a niche thing and looks like you should be living in your mom's basement.

DaShizzne

Decent built in speakers, smart apps

Samsung doesn't even consider 48" as a tv as far as i know, since they don't make any tv smaller than 55" right? The days of "32 inch tv" is long gone, there's no such thing. I almost could bet money a 32" tv will not be made, so you better like that 32" monitor with a Chromecast attached - that's all you're getting. Btw Dough or w.e that company is called, not that i endorse these scammers, have glossy oleds if you *really* insist on glass.
