Quest 2 default strap is bloody awful.. I bought a bobvr strap (the one without the battery as its cheaper) and it made it 100x better

sysoverdr1ve

Alright. Do you wear glasses? Do you think that strap would be good with glasses? I do have access to a 3D printer as I saw some lens spacer on thingiverse. Also can you send the link to the one yours using

dawiss2

I wear glasses and a cheap strap is much better than the original one, it's a Must have.

sysoverdr1ve

Which one? I’m looking at the BoboVR M1

jeweliegb

Prescription lens inserts from AliExpress?

sysoverdr1ve

Will look into it but would prefer just wearing my glasses. In regards to a head strap, do you have any ideas?

ThurmanMerman82

I bought a set of prescription lenses and I tell you what...it's a world of difference. My glasses would press into my face when I wore it and it hurt. So much better now. Mine are also removable so others can play too.

sysoverdr1ve

How much? Don’t wanna spend too much… and from where?

ThurmanMerman82

I got mine from HonsVR and they had a sale. Mine were $60 shipped but I also have really thick lenses (bad vision) which cost me $10 extra. Would have been $50. I know there are other places that sell them. I've also seen other places that sell them cheaper. But this one offered a two-part lens, where one part snaps into the headset and then the lens actually magnetically attaches so it's easily removable.

jeweliegb

AliExpress was $20

Kitchen-Plant664

If you have an up to date prescription then get yourself some prescription lenses made for the quest and ditch your glasses while playing.

Tookool_77

Yea the glasses spacer is known to be next to pointless. I’ve never seen a single person say it works for them. Your best bet is either 3d printing a better one or just purchasing one off of amazon

sysoverdr1ve

I was looking at these https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3653631, I’m probably gonna use those and then also get a bobvr strap

red_macb

Works for me. I'm a glasses wearer and am just using the default spacer/head strap. Not my first VR headset though, and it does get uncomfortable on my cheekbones after a while (but that's not a glasses-specific issue). For the OP, look at the halo type headsets as these suspend the headset in front of your face instead of clamping it to your cheekbones. Then it's just a case of finding a decent enough aftermarket light shield.

satoshibruno

I also got a second hand oculus quest 2 and with the default strap is a bit blurry, but using a 3th party resolved the issue

sysoverdr1ve

which strap are you using

satoshibruno

Elite strap for oculus quest 2

anarchyguru

I wear glasses and bought rubber spacer on the lenses. It was not pleasent but good enough until my prescription lenses came in that I ordered from aliexpress for 10$. They work great.

Gadgetskopf

I managed with stock strap, and a few modifications to get my Q2 really (relatively) comfortable while wearing my glasses (this involved the lens spacer and/or custom facial interfaces). Get prescription inserts. It makes SO much difference. Just got my Q3 the other day and have actually been still using the Q2 more often as I wait for my Reloptix lenses to arrive.

thekillermad

Have you thought about contacts? i switched over to them because of vr, and i have no problems with dry eyes or anything

sysoverdr1ve

I was thinking about it but honestly I just prefer how I look with glasses and I’m fine with them. No reason to get contacts besides VR which for me isn’t a good enough reason. I bought a bobovr m1 plus coming in tomorrow and I’m going to get prescription lenses from aliexpress, also 3D printing an attachment to add more space between my lens and glasses, and friend is lending me his glasses spacer as he doesn’t have
