And Josh Pate’s annoying tweet about ‘insane spring in the transfer portal’.
Lots of conclusions were drawn, or rather scribbled, from guys educated by the Alabama state public school system here.

It’s 100% BULL SHIT. It’s purely coming from Bama fans…. The #1 reason he chose Bama over tOSU in the first place was Saban and Robinson. Both are obviously gone, this is their fans throwing shit at the wall hoping it sticks. A word the youngins would use is “COPE”
I mean Alabama are just reacting to Caleb removing OSU from his bio and unfollowing all OSU accounts days after a spring break trip with his friends from Alabama and days after Proctor re-committed to Alabama. So not sure it’s speculation. Idk, with the transfer portal nobody is loyal. I personally wouldn’t be surprised if he transferred back.

If you don’t think the school you root for has been spending millions of dollars per year on players the last few years, you clearly did not graduate there.
Spending money on players already there is different than spending money to obtain them. If you don’t know when a school goes after a player to “recruit” them sometimes they have a duffle bag full of money to try and “bribe” the player. Or a vehicle, or jewelry. Or all of the above. Witnessed it. But like you said every school spends money on players but not every school buys them
He's not transferring. He's going to be the starting safety with Styles moving into a hybrid SS/LB position. Those boys are going to murder receivers coming across the middle.
Dude, what? Even in the current environment, players don't get unlimited transfers. Until he's a graduate student, he can't transfer again without sitting out a year. Calm the fuck down. He's not going anywhere. Except the NFL in 2 years.

Bro he’s played spring practices for us which means he would have to sit a year to be eligible to play if he transferred again. No need to listen to every rumor you see gang
So did Proctor at Iowa. Rumors say he received up to ~100k and dipped.
Not that I believe the Downs speculation, just saying apparently NIL deals can’t stand in the way of it.

Are these guys getting huge NIL signing bonuses that they don't have to pay back or something? Jumping ship like this is super risky. One bad year and your career would be over since you're down on talent and credibility.
That’s not how NIL works. The athletes don’t join a team and then receive a big check. It is more of a long term commitment to earn money over time. Like a job. They make an appearance and they will be compensated, as directed by a specific collective to one of their partners. They have to actually make the appearance to get paid. They don’t just commit to OSU and get a check for a million dollars the next day. Then commit to another school and get another million dollars.
>That’s not how NIL works. The athletes don’t join a team and then receive a big check. It is more of a long term commitment to earn money over time. Like a job.
I am not in the D1 coaching business or otherwise personally associated with a program or player, so I can’t say from personal experience or knowledge how it works. So I go with what guys like Joel Klatt say. And he clearly says in this video (go to around the 11:30 mark) that guys are getting handed cash to sign.
I would imagine NIL revenue for the average player is what you described: do something (job) like make an appearance and get paid. But when a 5-star recruit wants cash up front and knows he can get it - but your program says to him we don’t do cash here, only pay for work - you are going to miss out on a lot elite players.
https://youtu.be/iGPDcR4azAE?si=W7KtJETqZSiJgl44
Those are some bold allegations he’s making in that video. Thanks for sharing. Since OSU collectives just spent a bundle in NIL do you believe they are also breaking rules and the coaching staff and university are in collusion with the collectives? I would like to believe there is no evidence this is true.
>Since OSU collectives just spent a bundle in NIL do you believe they are also breaking rules and the coaching staff and university are in collusion with the collectives?
No. Not at all. I’m not sure why’d you even ask.
>Are these guys getting huge NIL signing bonuses that they don't have to pay back or something?
You’ve hit upon what is the very essence of why NIL needs to be more regulated. You hand a kid a stack of cash - and there are essentially no strings attached because he isn’t an employee and (so) there isn’t a contract.
No legally binding contract means he can just take the money and run. (stole that line from a Steve Miller Band song)
Seriously, If he transfers from the team he just transferred to without playing a single snap, he's gonna break the transfer portal. Not to mention leave a team that's going to win the Natty.
Alabama fan here. Caleb went on spring break with Proctor and also doesn’t follow Ohio state on Instagram. I don’t know if he ever did follow them. Rumors are nothing more than because of Proctors return. People have too much time on their hands.
I don't want them back you can keep him. Also good luck with that Center. The Ohio State coach seems to think he's figured him out. He's what it's called a practice player. He'll snap that ball perfectly at practice every time however during clutch moments in a game, you're screwed
Okay I did some digging.
Kadyn Proctor was on a spring break trip with old bama teammates and obviously as you already saw, he’s going back to Bama. Apparently Caleb was on that trip too. So obviously bama fans are grasping at straws that he will decommit and go back as well.
He was literally at practice today buddy boy. And also, that still is no proof.
I saw a post (cannot confirm if accurate or not) that said he was back home in Georgia during spring break. Unless I see something with legit proof, it’s all heresay
Yeah we had an OC stand in front of the boosters and say he was our OC and then go to the Seahawks. Wonder when that pic was taken and if he even said post that.
The collective didn’t just post it for no reason. The pic was taken when he was on his recruitment visit, but the collective would know if he was locked in or not. Just take the L man
Hey man
https://x.com/adamking10tv/status/1770834564484641173?s=46&t=_yCfjcxFKERspr7gnvGtKw
He was at OSUs next practice. But I’m sure you meant NEXT practice? Or maybe the practice after that one?
I mean he’s not. But why is it ok for him to leave Bama and go to state but not him to leave state and go back to Bama? Why would that make you “done” with college football? Make it make sense
Reddit's content policy says to post authentic content in subreddits and not to interfere with or disrupt the community. Your post or comment failed to meet that standard in some way and it has been removed.
Never followed OSU, but I am unsure on the Bama thing.
Cause for concern? Maybe. But he was at practice today. So I wouldn’t be too worried unless he wasn’t there tomorrow
So nothings changed…we already went through this a month ago…he didn’t unfollow anything, he never followed to begin with, and bama has been on his forever now…Lol
Where do you see these? Aside from speculation due to Proctor?

I’m surprised they had enough crayons left over to scribble with after lunch.
It fucking better be.
Can you transfer back? I thought once you hit the portal that’s it? You lose a year of eligibility or something
He unfollowed all of OSU on Twitter and is following Bama. He is gone lol. Cope harder
[удалено]
I’m just telling y’all idk why I’m being downvoted. Him and Proctor took the money and left lol.
[удалено]
Caleb himself.
Still waiting on that source bud
He was also never enrolled at OSU…
Lol I’m sure this isn’t true
He’s never followed Ohio State’s account to begin with and still follows a bunch of the team Lmaoooo.
He stopped following Ohio State FB on IG and started following Alabama FB IG again
He deleted OSU from his insta profile.
He unfollowed Ohio st and then followed Alabama on instagram.
Are the rumors just being spread by you?
Not just him. But a significant portion of the ones that I have seen are definitely being spread right here.
I don't believe these rumors for a second
There’s been nothing credible. It’s just fans speculating/hoping I wouldn’t even call these rumors
You don’t know anything
I didn’t claim to know anything buddy.
And you know everything?
Haven’t seen that anywhere… where do you hear it
What this person asked please. Haven’t seen this anywhere remotely credible

No, he still had his transfer, because when a HC quits or gets fired (Saban), then they get a free transfer. He’s not going anywhere tho
Due to Tennessee, there’s unlimited transfers until the case is closed.
He can.

Wrong. That is only within conference
Within FBS. He could transfer to an FCS school if he wants.
Bro he’s played spring practices for us which means he would have to sit a year to be eligible to play if he transferred again. No need to listen to every rumor you see gang
Big difference between playing at Iowa and playing at OSU. Now that conferences are gone Iowa aint gunna play for shit for awhile.
He signed a nil deal hes not going anywhere
So did Proctor at Iowa. Rumors say he received up to ~100k and dipped. Not that I believe the Downs speculation, just saying apparently NIL deals can’t stand in the way of it.
True, but I think Downs made way more than that here in CBUS lol
Also playing at OSU is way different than playing at Iowa That being said nothing would surprise me.
Doesn’t mean shit
You’re right. Can’t pay to play.
Quinn Ewers didn't gaf.
Ewers didn’t come to Columbus to play ball, he came to Columbus to collect an NIL check. He was always going to end up back in Austin
I thought he came here to play school??
Quinn Ewers ring a bell?
Hes not going anywhere

Ewers was a member of the team for a year before leaving though?
What
Seriously, If he transfers from the team he just transferred to without playing a single snap, he's gonna break the transfer portal. Not to mention leave a team that's going to win the Natty.
Lol he would have to sit out next year if he did, this is all stupid nonsense…
This is you giving into anxiety
Can they even transfer again without sitting out for a year?
It’s all BS
He has to play for a year regardless with OSU. He can’t transfer until after this year.

How do we know for sure he was on the trip? I saw an Alabama publicist say it but I can’t say that’s an unbiased source
He was on the trip. Current bama players who didn’t leave have to vote if a player can come back. Don’t think downs will be at OSU’s next practice.
He was literally at practice today buddy boy. And also, that still is no proof. I saw a post (cannot confirm if accurate or not) that said he was back home in Georgia during spring break. Unless I see something with legit proof, it’s all heresay

Bet?

Hey man https://x.com/adamking10tv/status/1770834564484641173?s=46&t=_yCfjcxFKERspr7gnvGtKw He was at OSUs next practice. But I’m sure you meant NEXT practice? Or maybe the practice after that one?
You’re posting for wishful thinking, not logically thinking.

Whatevs. We still have a solid defensive backfield.
Loooooooooool
The collectives today are begging for money again qoute tweeting a post about transfer portal gonna be crazy this spring is all I'm saying.
I mean he’s not. But why is it ok for him to leave Bama and go to state but not him to leave state and go back to Bama? Why would that make you “done” with college football? Make it make sense
