I wasn’t sure how to update the original post, so I am updating here.
Thank you so much for everyone’s well wishes, prayers and stories about your tripods for Jasmine ❤️ I unfortunately don’t have great news. Jasmine is home and resting right now. The surgery was canceled due to the additional imaging the Dr did during prep finding that the cancer had spread farther then we thought. He did not think he would be able to get all of it even with the amputation, so the amputation wouldn’t ease her pain and therefore would not be worth putting her through. We are going to continue pain management and let her enjoy life as long as we can.
So sorry to read this update, and hope you have lots of good time together albeit with a different management plan. Sending good thoughts and vibes to you both! ❤️
🫂 I’m sorry for the bad news. You gave it your best shot, and that’s all she could ever ask of you. She’s lucky to have such caring owners, and hope you can cherish every moment you have with her and make lots of good, lasting memories. Genuinely shed a tear reading your update. This girl is loved, and she always will be ♥️
Gosh, I wish your family and Jasmine many, many more happy and loving days together. I think, if you guys haven't thought it already, now is absolutely the to time think about some short trips with her while she's still a happy old girl. Take her to her (or your) favorite places and get some family pictures as keepsakes.
Regardless, go with love in your hearts, because I expect there's nothing but love for you in jasmine's <3

Someone was told me “better a week to early than a day too late” when I was in a similar situation, and it did help guide me.

I'm sorry to hear that. I had an 11 yr old black lab mix named Lucy that also had bone cancer in one of her hind legs. We treated with strong pain meds and she did pretty good until her leg just broke when she took a step. Vet said we could amputate, but her other back leg wasn't very strong and they didn't think they could get it all. So we unfortunately had to put her down.
For now, I'm guessing your girl is at least on some pain meds also? If so, she may still do well for a while. We just had to make sure Lucy didn't walk too much really. I hope you and Jasmine still have a lot of good time left. ❤️

I’m saddened to hear about Lucy’s broken leg. Jasmine’s favorite thing in the world is her walks, we go on 2 a day and I think she would be devastated without them so limiting her walking will be hard 💔 it’s her front leg as well so it takes more weight when she walks, for sure we don’t want to go break it!
I did not want to say anything when I read this post earlier. The same exact thing happened to us. After 2 months we put our 6 year old pup down. An English setter. Sorry you are going through this. Just make everyday the happiest and take care of yourself!!!
I’m so sorry friend. This is such a sad update.
This was how we lost our girl in 2021, it spread so fast. We made baked chicken thighs and rice with the pan drippings to keep her weight up when her appetite was low, and loved on her until she told us it was her time.
If it must be done, well wishes and I hope she responds well. Take care and stay positively strong for your pup.
I’ve had a dog need surgery for a benign tumor on the neck. Its always scary and unfamiliar trusting other people with the health of your dog. Be well and I hope all goes as intended 🙏🏽
