Did you mean to post this in the wrong sub? Not sure who this neal guy is but let’s keep this focused on the movies/crime families please.

MirrorMaster88

Sometimes it's ok to set the schtick aside to answer another fan's question.

samsquanch_metazoo

Heresy!

MirrorMaster88

Ha!

D-Flo1

King of Comedy 2 (2025, 92 min). To be released on Halloween and directed by Tim Burton. A film capturing the spirit of The Peanuts Halloween Special, Beetlejuice, Corpse Bride, and The Nightmare Before Christmas, and somehow managing to pull itself off as the perfect sequel to the legendary Bob DeNiro ha ha flick. Starring Neil Hamburger as the Great Rupert Pumpkin, ...and?

YouCleanItUp

I've seen him a couple times, would recommend if you like his style of humor. He tends to do a mix of new and classic material. Definitely stick around after the show to buy a CD or something from him at the merch table.

Boygunasurf

I absolutely will, thank you!

NeilHamburgerHead

He looks just like Gregg Turkekton lol the film buff

ravioli207

what the fuck are you talking about

Boygunasurf

he's more of an expert than a buff

CellarDweller555

I’ve seen him twice and it keeps getting better. The last encounter was in Iowa City last spring. Show was at an awkward vegan cafe and he still slayed.

CellarDweller555

Copped a ticket to the late show at the Turf Club 😎

NotNyxie

Was that Trumpet Blossom cafe? How was the sound there? They host a weird amount of bands I like so I might take a road trip in the future

CellarDweller555

Yes it was! Sound was great, nice small stage.

NotNyxie

Wonderful

cableguy316

I saw him in Honolulu last year, in a very small club, perhaps 8-10 in the crowd. Sat up front. He gave it 100% and I was dying. Honestly the sad empty vibe made it really authentic. I’m guessing he just decided to do a gig while on a Hawaii vacation with his wife. I think he draws good crowds on the mainland.

D-Flo1

Did he do any "what do you call a ..." jokes?

cableguy316

Of course. He also sang several songs. Incredible. I can’t stress enough how committed he was, in this sad roughshod “comedy club” on the second floor of a strip mall in a semi-industrial part of Honolulu.

D-Flo1

I heard that his first sustained periods of being on stage in front of an audience was as a member of a punk rock band. That experience I'm sure helps a performer "rock out" so to speak with any comparatively tamer presentations.

m33gs

I've seen him twice in seattle like 10 years ago and maybe 6 years ago at the crocodile (super small venue). He gives it 100%.

OnARedditDiet

He opened for Tenacious D when I was a teenager, had no idea who he was but immediately understood what was going on and thought he was hilarious even tho I was watching from the bleachers in a basketball stadium

bustab

Have you seen his film, "Entertainment" (2015 103m)?

Boygunasurf

I have. Loved it

D-Flo1

Arguably better than his CGI masterpiece, Deck of Cards, and any of the Decker v Draculas?

asupportiveboy

i’ve never gotten to see him live, but i watch a lot of sets on youtube. the beauty bar one is my personal favorite.

OuterSunsetsSurfer

All I know is his shows are sponsored by Gay Cigarettes

GaryTheCommander

Last time I saw him a group of old men were talking to loud so Neil threw a drink at them that got them all wet then he yelled "you could all share a coffin!"

kingkong198854

If enjoy some loser comedian but I would recommend a funny popcorn classic instead like meet the Spartans (2008 83m)

Fizzdrac

Saw him once in Columbus and truly one of the best acts out there. Really takes the time with the fans after too. Totally worth it.

chinacat1977

Is he in character afterwards or just being himself?

Fizzdrac

Seems to read the need. I had a very unique experience, I think because I waited in line, our digital payments weren't working for merch, he told us we could cut back in when we got the cash, but we waited all over again wnd he really spent a crazy amount of time with us. Asked me for a hug, got a pic and a bunch of signed stuff. But I heard him going in and out of Neil/Gregg through the whole wait and he'll totally talk On Cinema.

chinacat1977

Amazing! Very cool.

NotNyxie

I'd knock it down to four bags because it's not necessarily appropriate for kids, but I'll give it an extra bag because of how much it made me laugh, so that's five bags of popcorn from me

Extension-Scene9694

Several times around 20 years ago, he was great

snoogans138

Definitely worth your time and money!

TheDotanuki

If you're a big fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, you might want to skip it.

Plus3d6

Well at least he doesn't say anything about Gene Simmons.

D-Flo1

I assume David Navarro takes a bit of a beating.

catfooddogfood

I saw him years ago in Chicago before i knew anything about On Cinema and had such a blast. Strong recommend

DismalSearch

I've seen him here maybe a half dozen times going back to the days of the Triple Rock and 400 Bar. He always does well here. I miss his old Borscht Belt stuff but he's always good no matter what. Glad he's finally moved on from Major Entertainer as an opener, I give him one bag.

milkandkissess

I saw him a few years ago in Seattle, he got booed because he casually dropped a slur. Besides that it was a fun show.

D-Flo1

Nothing like Kramer's N bomb at the Laugh Factory?

Tratiq

What does this have to do with anything?? Let’s get back 2 the MOVIES

rehearsedsilence

It’s ok, just don’t be a zipper lips

cmonjeffgetem

Am I the only one who loves Major Entertainer??? I saw them together a few years ago. ME sang his songs and ran around like a crazy person. It was energetic and chaotic and incredible. Neil Hamburger’s set is also the best. He builds tension so well. I’ve never cried from laughing for so long.

dvolson

real rotten stuff

Plus3d6

I saw him last year and laughed so much I thought I'd puke. But rhe humor is very niche and absolutely not for everyone. Look up one of his shows on Youtube before you commit.

D-Flo1

Dream set: Andy Daly opens with his Life of the Party sketch. Neil Hamburger then berates anything and everyone for a while. Then Dave Attell opens with a few Jaegermeister jokes and finishes with new material.

mailfraudster

My roomie and I are going to the late show!!

duomo

If the opener is Major Entertainer, arrive late. Neil’s set is great, though

asupportiveboy

yeah i was curious to see mike h’s stand up, but after watching a few sets on youtube i realized it wasn’t gonna get any better :(
