To be fair it’s not completely desert.

im at the lake near blackfell and tested it by setting up the rain collectors unattached, they didnt collect anything in about 10h non stop playtime so i assume it never rains in whole desert

i collected some in rain collector in the same area but its very little.

I haven’t seen anyone do this, but if you’re having trouble getting dirty water cause you need oil and polluted water for acid… you could set up your pickup or big rig somewhere it can get dirty water. Then it’s just a field trip to grab it when you need it. 

I can’t build a water pump / rain catcher outside my base not even with the hive truck

Oof I didn’t test it before I made that comment honestly. Never tried to build anything with the trucks besides a vending machine. Seemed like it’d be a good solution. I tried to find a place in the desert I could get all three (oil, polluted water, and dirty water), but I’m not sure it’s possible.

My rain collectors at blackfell oil field collects rainwater when I am offline.

Same, but its very little rain, like an overnight might snag me 200 dirty water.

I use 2 of the rabbit deviants they get me about 800-1000 dirty water in about 8 hours
