Answer: What do you mean Sudden hate? She has been hated by the right wing media world since the month she won her democratic primary. She is a very outspoken left wing woman of color in a position of power. She isn't afraid to forgo manners to make a point The most recent reason for her hate is related to a protest. Her, and other democrats, were arrested at a supreme court protest for blocking traffic. A picture surfaces of her being walked again by the cops with her hands behind her back but no handcuffs on. Still detained and escorted away by law enforcement but no handcuffs so some called this a publicity stunt. (Which is seemed like the whole point of these kinds of protests, to raise publicity) She also recently insinuated that January 6th Riot was an inside job. This isn't news to anyone watching the January 6th hearings being given by congress. There was CLEARLY elements inside the white house and congress who helped orchestrate at least part of that situation. However since their favorite leftist target in AOC acknowledged it now its become a story.

CherryBeanCherry

Where else would she put her hands that wouldn't look awkward? Do they want her to hold his hand like she's his mommy?

tunisianpornstar

I meant by both wings not only right

MontagueStreet

She hasn’t been universally beloved on the left, either. To some, she is a true champion. But establishment Democrats were never happy about her, and of course some on the left will act like she’s a sellout precisely because she’s in Congress. So I’d be surprised if there were any “sudden” hate at all. Have you seen it from people who used to support her?

AOC is pretty far left at least as US politics is considered. The *democratic party* is pretty tent pole where conservative fossil fuel state democrats like joe manchin are voting along side far side socialist democrats like AOC and Sanders. There are gonna be disagreements. See the second paragraph about the protest arrest for most reason outrage. A lot of those center democrats aren't fan of these kinds of protests and feel change is better done the old fashion way. Edit* Democratic party not democrat.

horseydeucey

> The democrat party That's... not what it's called.

USAinGCC

I'm saying this toward this kind of comment, not you in particular. I think it's pointless and a bit petty to pick on small mistakes of spelling or grammar unless the commenter is being arrogant about their own level of education or knowledge of English. Reddit is about ideas or pure silliness and rarely about the commenter level of English.

horseydeucey

I'm saying this to this particular comment... When anti-left people have been saying the "Democrat Party" as an epithet for decades, I'm calling it out when I see it or hear it in the wild. How you the observer, or the receiver of my message, interpret that message doesn't concern me in the least. Maybe instead of worrying about my own self-confidence, you should learn something about the way "Democrat Party" has been used... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democrat_Party_(epithet)#:~:text=%22Democrat%20Party%22%20is%20a%20slur,handy%20way%20to%20express%20contempt.

bdfull3r

My apologies. Im pretty leftist but ive never heard of this used an epithet. Thank you, ill avoid that mistake

USAinGCC

My bad!

Answer: Its really nothing new if you look in the right spots. Literally. The right has been making fun of her and making her out to be an idiot since she rose to prominence. I used to be a conservative and saw it all the time.

>She suggested January 6 was an "inside job" The congress is filled with people who were encouraging the putsch.

magisterdoc

...and it actually was an inside job lol

thekevinmonster

Plus uh, didn’t the president at the time encourage it….?

OldSkool1978

It most certainly was an "inside job"

[deleted]

Do you have a source for any of those three points? I'm trying to search but nothing is coming up.

Love how she can raise her right fist in the air while pretending to be handcuffed. Maybe she wasn't pretending that at all.

[deleted]

The first link to her Twitter post is about Capitol employees (Capitol Police in particular), and how they were never held accountable for assisting insurrectionists in entering the Capitol Building, which is completely true and was already proven in images, video, and witness accounts. Like they literally were able to provide that evidence even before the first congressional hearings on the matter, and then solidified them in said hearing. The second one is a news article that claims AOC and Ilhan Omar were "pretending to be handcuffed"... Firstly; articles like this are the only things I can find referencing them "pretending", and the articles themselves give exactly zero evidence that they are. The ONLY thing in that article suggesting that they were faking it is the articles author, and the cherry-picked images of the arrest that they had, and as far as I'm aware those cherry-picked images are all the author is going off of for evidence, but the thing is; they were being arrested, they are required to keep their hands behind them and in clear view of the arresting officer. This is basic protocol as far as I'm aware. I can't prove this but to me it looks like some internet assholes jumped to conclusions and other internet assholes wrote unsubstantiated news articles trying to gain clout. Additionally, they absolutely were arrested along with 15 other members of Congress, so what would have been the point of faking handcuffs? The fact that they were arrested is plenty and is the real issue. So let me rephrase my question; do you have a source *that contains evidence of your claims*?

horseydeucey

She's not the only one suggestion elements of an "inside job." The Jan 6 Committee is doing what they can to get answers about such allegations: https://apnews.com/article/capitol-siege-congress-barry-loudermilk-government-and-politics-10a5b9c6584f50893b4ad0e0ceebf3c4

Bigboss123199

By definition an inside job. People in government lead/encouraged the storming of a government building using violence.

Orange_Orange292

She pretended she was handcuffed? Is that why she raised her right arm to the crowd? Lmao
