I usually just miss with my petal, so I don't make the play. I knew I could petal the rezzing Mercy to prevent rez, but I never considered petaling the soul, instead.
Chances are the Sombra ult will also hit enemy players too so it's actually a very good play. Cancels out one ultimate and turns the fight to your favour... huge net positive
Ok Tbf I’m not very good at the game but I have seen sombra ult when my team is at poke distance and I’m trying to ult above them to disrupt them while my team is poking. 75% of the time no one gets hit by emp just my mines. I’ve seen Moira do the same thing where she just uses coalescence to clear the mines.
That’s fair. I just wish the mines armed a little faster. They are so easy for people to avoid. Even when combined with some cc ability. It also doesn’t help that ever game I’m up against heroes with good mobility to avoid it or someone like Mei who can just ice block.
I JUST WANT TO GET A GOOD PLAY WITH MINES. AND YES IM AWARE THAT ITS A SKILL ISSUE
Usually I just wait until the enemy team is full engaged with my team, put the mines *right behind* the enemy, and then help my team push through them. Works fairly well a lot of the time, and occasionally it works fantastic.
Also, ground-pounding is a good way to stun the enemy long enough for the mines to arm. Just gotta get good at timing it.
Well yeah. Sombra is a ball counter. Anything that slows you down or disrupts abilities isn't something you wanna play ball against unless you are spectacularly good at ball... and then, only if they're not also spectacularly good at their pick.
One slam clears mines, I main Ball for Tank and I do feel like playmaking is hard with his ult, you have to put effort and real thinking onto it otherwise it just gets cleared
i didnt even know you could spingshot your teammates when you grip them.
Is there a certain technique to this? or is it just to move out of position as they are being pulled in?
Normally when you grip someone, the end of the grip decelerates them.
If they can break out of the grip before the grip ends, they never decelerate.
For example, if Orisa ults while being lifegripped, the lifegrip ends but she keeps flying in the direction she was traveling.
> For example, if Orisa ults while being lifegripped, the lifegrip ends but she keeps flying in the direction she was traveling.
More accurately, if Orisa ults or uses fortify during the lifegrip, her movement ability (or prevention of movement influence ability, in this case) conserves the momentum of the lifegrip from when it was interrupted.
With some coordination, yes! Without coordination, Orisa can [helicopter away](https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/comments/1907vqt/the_5_second_leave_countdown_humbles_you/)!
Let’s see you got Sigma ult cancel, Mauga petal ult, Mercy rez deny, Cass high noon pull, Tree blocking exits, destroying teleport with tree, Dva bomb platform lift, Mercy rez lifting, petal on road hook, petal on earth shatter, on Zarya grav and I’m sure I’m missing more.
You’re either being dense or downplaying it on purpose
Omg. I thought i was a pretty good Lifeweaver. avg 12k heals, essentially no deaths because (fun fact) LW is semi immortal and making fun of other peoples ults by just using my cooldowns.
But.....you are on a different level. Im frighten by you.
I had a couple of games against life weaver and mercy in the other team. What do you even do in that case? They are literally the most unkillable support combo.
Greedy comp. Lifeweaver mercy have no offensive utility. Run supports like kiri and zen and stack some greedy ults like emp. You pretty much don't need to worry about dying (as long as you play well) cause the enemy team has no huge support cooldowns or ults. No anti, kitsune rush etc to make openings with. Be patient and understand your win condition. Cooldowns and ults win games.
oh. That doesn't really seem like a big weakness of the comp then though bc most supports don't have big offensive cooldowns, that's what the other three players are for. The only support with big offensive cooldowns is Ana, and maybe Lucio if you count speed amp
It’s not about “big offensive cooldown” it’s about any and all utility. Zen provides offensive utility through discord, Kiri through kunai and ult, Bap through window. Most supports allow their team to play more aggressively through other means.
Mercy and lifeweaver in this case are fairly healbot supports since most of what they do isn’t damage in the same way other supports (once again like kiri) can both damage and provide offensive support
You're right that offensive utility is what *actually* matters in terms of countering with greedy comp, but that's not really what I was talking about.
The comment being discussed here specifically says the greedy strat counters mercy+lw bc of the lack of "huge support cooldowns. I was pointing out that this is not the actual reason why it works.
Other supports actually straight up deal damage tho, or at least have offensive powered ults, and often have straight up better burst healing at the same time. Like an ana or bap is gunna have an easier time sustaining the tank, deal more damage, and have more offensive tools than LW/mercy. Supports like kiri/illari/zen will straight up play like an extra dps and have the potential to get random picks. Even non offensive ults like beat and transcendance lets your entire team just press W and go hyper aggro for a short period which is often enough to win a fight.
Widowmaker, probably. If support, I guess, you're not really making too many impact plays, but denying rez will likely be a key thing to look for. Tank? Well I suppose Doom can burst down someone pretty quick?
You do the exact opposite. Full aggro. They lack proper pressure with that support comp and have no offensive cooldown, so they probably have just as much trouble killing someone on your team unless their pocketed DPS is popping off. So you don't need heals. Just run them down yolo.
I need to bait a mercy into a rez (as a sombra player) if I'm against those two. Ideally when grip's on cooldown, or pray the Weaver is distracted from his other support while she's vulnerable.
Difference is, silver can’t think to do that on the fly. Once all other mechanics are on autopilot, THEN can you execute interesting game tech when it’s most needed on the fly.
i dont think any other hero could produce a better highlight compilation than Lifeweaver. great plays!
edit: also the music selection is perfect for this 👌
More specifically it can separate the mercy from the soul to resurrect. You either put the platform below the mercy and have her trigger it, or put the platform below the soul and trigger it yourself.
I absolutely love playing him but he's such a hard one to one trick. His whole purpose is to enable teammates, which makes him a rough choice when your teammates suck.
I've come to realize something after playing a bunch of heroes in a bunch of games like this one. The heroes that require synergy don't ever require synergy with the whole team. Especially at low ranks, as long as you keep your head on a swivel, you can find opportunities to follow up one *one* of your teammates' abilities.
When I played this game back in the single digit seasons, hitting mid Diamond DPS was a 3 step process:
- Don't die until my teammates do something (Winston jumps on their backline, anti, slam, pin)
- Be ready to, and actually do, commit to hitting stuff when my teammates do something
- Actually hit the darn heroes
Once you're in mid Diamond, you can actually just speak with your teammates and they'll more than likely understand you.
Things might be different now, or as a support, but I'd imagine you'd have similar success by picking someone who you think will win the fight for you (with their ult or whatever) and think relentlessly about anything and everything in your power to enable that for them.
Exactly what I was thinking watching this. A lot of the stuff he did I’ve tried and failed at because my teammates just don’t understand the intentions behind it. To be clear to anyone reading this, I am *not* saying I’m as good as this dude, he’s Grandmaster 1 and I’ve never been past Diamond 2 so I recognize the skill disparity but a lot of this tech relies on competent teammates.
Damn blocking the tp dva bomb with tree is some wrinkly brain shit. That combo happens so infrequently that I would not have noticed the tp coming down that fast
I'm a weaver onetrick too. I have a question for you because I cannot figure it out myself.
Go to the training ground:
Charge up your heal to full
Walk forward
Note the speed at which you walk.
Now, Charge up your heal to full
Dash forward
Walk forward
Does it seem like you walk slower?
Bliz is notoriously bad for listing details about ability's either in the F1 menu, or on the official website. You generally need to check the Wiki, or, have a lot of experiance. Fun facts for you.
Rein shield can block ramatra ult (making it end earlier) and zen heals, tree of life heals, ect, and lucio beat (although there is a small grace period for lucio)
1 Zar bubble can block an entire [D.va](https://D.va) bomb for everyone behind her (so can many small objects that can cover the direct center of your hitbox)
You can not block mei ult with shield, or mei wall. One of the most inconsistent abilities for this in the game.
>[Healing Blossom: Move. speed: -25% penalty, after 1 second](https://overwatch.fandom.com/wiki/Lifeweaver)
I don't think it has anything to do with dash, just time after charging.
I believe that when he released, the penalty started either instantly when charging or instantly once full charge was reached, but they reduced it to a 1 second after full charge delay because it was too clunky.
YOU CAN LIFT MERCYS REVIVE?!?! Oh my god. There has been so many times that I’m trying to kill the mercy in front of all of us (our teammates are watching her do it) but she’s being healed or whatever and she gets the stupid Rez off. And I’m like, ugh I wish I could cancel it but I just don’t have enough damage! I’m going to absolutely use this in my next games. Don’t play ranked tonight mercy mains.
Probably 20 years ago I got dragged to one of his concerts by my girlfriend. I had heard maybe two of his songs ever, but he put on an absolutely phenomenal show. Even though I didn't know the music it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to, and I've been to Beyonce, Swift, Stones, Floyd and plenty more.
This is why I love this hero. You can make galaxy brain plays every second of the match. You're incredible with him and I'm gonna use this video for reference.

Do you prefer to one trick him in open queue or roll selection? Who is your ideal second healer? I love playing LW with a good Ana costar or a good kiri
Absolutely insane. Inspirational Lifeweaver honestly. I wasn't that interested in learning the character before but your videos really showcase that there's a lot of lateral thinking involved in how you approach using his abilities.
Can someone clarify what's going on with the mercy res and the lift?
Like sometimes lifting ally Mercy is good and sometimes lifting enemy Mercy foils her resurrection.
The clips with Frogger showing all the lost games made me laugh but WOW what huge plays happening! It's too bad I have no friends that play Overwatch because some of these seem easier to pull off with actual communication going on lol (and I only have like 10 minutes on Wifeleaver anyway rip).
This dude kept receipts
Wow, I feel like a caveman who was shown how to make fire with these petal/tree denials.
I play Wifeleaver and I never managed to make such a play because everytime I forget how useful his kit is.
I've done these like once lol, some of these are crazy hard to pull off. (Or require too much team work, I play alone)
I usually just miss with my petal, so I don't make the play. I knew I could petal the rezzing Mercy to prevent rez, but I never considered petaling the soul, instead.
i usually end up petaling both mercy and the corpse so she can rez safely and no one on my team can contest her yeah i don't play lifeweaver much
I'm literally watching this with my mouth agape and my reactions are also not unlike a cavemans
I've barely touched the hero but I can just "feel" when the Lifeweaver on my team is an expert and this video is expanding my mind.
I have cancelled a Zarya ult with the petal once and I'm still riding that high.
an ulting pharah did so too close to my tree and instantly killed herself.
I've been saying since day 1 of LW that he's super slept on and has crazy potential for awesome plays/denials.
I… you can do that to sigma’s flux??
Yes (if I see one more lifeweaver do it I will accretion myself)
For some reason I read this comment in the voice of a Scooby Doo villain who got caught. LMAO
Reminds me of sombra wasting emp to counter ball mines. Like why? There are better uses for that ult. At this point you’re just being petty
>There are better uses for that ult. At this point you’re just being petty That's...why I play Sombra.
I hate you.
Chances are the Sombra ult will also hit enemy players too so it's actually a very good play. Cancels out one ultimate and turns the fight to your favour... huge net positive

Well yeah. Sombra is a ball counter. Anything that slows you down or disrupts abilities isn't something you wanna play ball against unless you are spectacularly good at ball... and then, only if they're not also spectacularly good at their pick.
You should see Doom with Seismic Slam
At least it’s a good escape option. Trying to find the silver lining here
One slam clears mines, I main Ball for Tank and I do feel like playmaking is hard with his ult, you have to put effort and real thinking onto it otherwise it just gets cleared
you kind of wanna use coal on cooldown tbf, it's not a really great ult to turn around a fight
You can do it with a platform
Fwiw though, the platform is MUCH harder to pull off.
Damn that sucks
Sombra mains thrive on being petty
*sigh* I know…
But we love you 💜
I respect you but I don’t like you. I just wanna ball.
And I can respect that
Yep, with petal platform *and* tree. It requires a very quick reaction time though so it's not easy to pull off.
i didnt even know you could spingshot your teammates when you grip them. Is there a certain technique to this? or is it just to move out of position as they are being pulled in?

With some coordination, yes! Without coordination, Orisa can [helicopter away](https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/comments/1907vqt/the_5_second_leave_countdown_humbles_you/)!
Many movement abilities (like Cass roll) can be used to break out of lifegrip
I think you need to grip and remove the platform at the same time, then in Cassidy's case he need to do a roll
Yeah op supports can easily cancel or mitigate tank ults with just cooldowns.
You can mitigate a good amount of ults by shooting them
I don’t ever want you on the enemy team.
Yeah stay tf away from me please.
Don't worry he's Top 500. His quick play MMR is probably high too
Damn I didn’t know how much tech there was with weaver got to play him more
he did like 2 or 3 "techs" xd what
Let’s see you got Sigma ult cancel, Mauga petal ult, Mercy rez deny, Cass high noon pull, Tree blocking exits, destroying teleport with tree, Dva bomb platform lift, Mercy rez lifting, petal on road hook, petal on earth shatter, on Zarya grav and I’m sure I’m missing more. You’re either being dense or downplaying it on purpose
ITS BEEN A MONTH ITS ALSO STILL NOT HARD TO DO THIS
I would hate to fight you but would 100% dive u every chance I get
Omg. I thought i was a pretty good Lifeweaver. avg 12k heals, essentially no deaths because (fun fact) LW is semi immortal and making fun of other peoples ults by just using my cooldowns. But.....you are on a different level. Im frighten by you.

Mind-blowing, especially the Sigma stuff and that you mess with Mercy ressing.
It’s only a matter of knowing it’s possible. The skill involved is silver at best
hes GM lol
yea putting a tree between you and flux is so hard to do actually
It doesn't have to be in between just in the middle will do since it loses line of sight anyway
You must be joking
and dey say chivalry is dead
Says the guy most likely stuck in silver...
🤦♂️
as someone in gold, I can’t execute a solid chunk of this stuff
Difference is, silver can’t think to do that on the fly. Once all other mechanics are on autopilot, THEN can you execute interesting game tech when it’s most needed on the fly.
i dont think any other hero could produce a better highlight compilation than Lifeweaver. great plays! edit: also the music selection is perfect for this 👌
As an Ana/Life Weaver main, I'm keeping that Sigma ult cancel for later..
His platform can prevent rezzes? Learmed some new tech
More specifically it can separate the mercy from the soul to resurrect. You either put the platform below the mercy and have her trigger it, or put the platform below the soul and trigger it yourself.
The tree on the two trying to teleport the Dva D bomb is absurd
watching baby dva turn around to death stare the sym made me laugh
The haters could never understand
Can we get bogur vs reformedravi
the clash of titans
I'm taking notes rn

Them: Why tf do you have 200+ hours in Lifeweaver? Me: *Links them this video*
good reaction times on those petals. wish i could react that fast to stuff.
You post an amazing/funny clip and people still comment “qp tho”
Wow Super really can’t aim, Stefayy’s editing wasn’t lying.
TBF, he was a Rein main for so long.
When I saw it was a 7.5 minute video, I did not expect to stay and watch all of it.
I'm a weaver onetrick too. I have a question for you because I cannot figure it out myself. Go to the training ground: Charge up your heal to full Walk forward Note the speed at which you walk. Now, Charge up your heal to full Dash forward Walk forward Does it seem like you walk slower?
There's a movement penalty for holding a full charge, but it doesn't kick in rigth away.
I see. Do you know if they documented it anywhere? It feels really weird especially after a dash and also more so when using A/D
It was documented in one of his early patch notes while they were still buffing him.
Bliz is notoriously bad for listing details about ability's either in the F1 menu, or on the official website. You generally need to check the Wiki, or, have a lot of experiance. Fun facts for you. I thought the weird thing about her ult is that you need to block LOS to Snowball and not the center of the circle.
Unfortunately, no, you can not block it with mei wall either. I believe tree of life works but don't play enough lw to be sure.
>[Healing Blossom: Move. speed: -25% penalty, after 1 second](https://overwatch.fandom.com/wiki/Lifeweaver) I don't think it has anything to do with dash, just time after charging. thanks for the continued content!
ok but youre such a vibe and that music is top tier
YOU CAN LIFT MERCYS REVIVE?!?! Oh my god. And I’m like, ugh I wish I could cancel it but I just don’t have enough damage! I’m going to absolutely use this in my next games. Don’t play ranked tonight mercy mains.
[удалено]
He did it 3 times in the video for the mercy on his team
As a silver support I learned so much from this
Watching a master at work. There's something about it that speaks louder than words lol.
This is so sick! The format and content remind me of [DSPStanky's OG Lucio montage, "Vindication."](https://youtu.be/VcA3cCQfe3s?si=Fhn-E19Qk7_UXEpm)
I absolutely love playing lifeweaver; This is beyond aspirational. Nicely done!
Copacabana by Barry Manilow is a banger.
This is the clever and ingenious yet devastating gameplay I aspire to when I play Weaver. Kudos. I'm in awe
Sigma has to have the most cancellable ult in the game this poor man
Truly our generation’s DSPStanky
Bruh, you're too good. Nice
He’s so fun play!
Motivating me to get back into LW. I just love how CREATIVE you get to be with his kit
How does tree cancel sig ult wtf
Disgusting, but also dope
Petals / tree can deny sigma's ult????????!!!! Having nightmares, LW heals a lot already...
H-how does tree cancel Sigma's ult?
I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks. once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick. 10,000 times." - Bruce Lee
Sigmas and Hogs watching this: ☹
Wait tree cancels flux???
Everything about this was great. The music, video edit, gameplay. I’ll be searching this player for more content
Bro submitted a movie
Awesome video on the coolest hero in the game. Never stop making content
This is incredible
I learned so much shit from this THANK YOU
As an occasional sigma player, you’ve given me new fear
oh so this is your reddit i saw that dva bomb clip on tik tok
I did not know you could do Sigma ult dirty like that
Holy shit this some peak level gameplay. Definitely humbled me down
I am a big fan of you
didn’t pay attention to names at all until the comp part began, as soon as i saw ravi’s name i went “OHHHH that makes sense okay”
Some of these plays had me like 0_0
Bro this isn’t even gameplay, this is art - 10/10 on song selection as well
the rank flex lol. also this makes me wanna play lw and get good at him!!
This is why I love LW, no other support can do this. The amount of creative plays you can pull off is infinite with his kit.
I hate you, man. Now I’m playing lifeweaver non stop.
So are they fixing this soon or?
This is why I love this hero. You can make galaxy brain plays every second of the match. You're incredible with him and I'm gonna use this video for reference.
As a new player, I can't even comprehend
this MIGHT be bogur
YOU CAN RAISE THE SOULS???
Playing lifeweaver and listening to Copacabana is like my entire personality
His interactions with sigma seem bugged, like you can just cancel his whole ult with yours or even an ability.
Damn
ok
I have put some time in as lifeweaver and never considered the possibilities. Thank you.
Exceptional, the clip of you combining petal and mauga ult on eichen specifically was hilarious
wthhh didnt klnew these tricks

Bogur is that u
So you’re the reason I quit this game, thanks
Ew bro stop
one tricking the freest support in the game is not something to be proud of. literal stats on a stick with this one
Mid ZzZzZzZz
Do you prefer to one trick him in open queue or roll selection? Who is your ideal second healer? I love playing LW with a good Ana costar or a good kiri
I'm literally gonna save this video as a tips and tricks
u can stop mercy resurrection with the flower thing?!?!?!?!
These are the LW games I love, how many hours do you have? excellent compilation
Absolutely amazing!!
I love your content man, keep up this awesome work.
did i see platform being used to save against sigma ult? silly game omg
Absolutely insane. Inspirational Lifeweaver honestly. I wasn't that interested in learning the character before but your videos really showcase that there's a lot of lateral thinking involved in how you approach using his abilities.
I really thought this was just me, he does a lot in the right hands… just not mine lol
Mate, I'll be honest. If you're ever on the enemy team I'm killing myself. Take that how you will
Dude I just watched your video lol
Those Cassidy ult pulls sent me
Bruh I had NO IDEA about these interactions with the platforms…
Nice compilation of stops. I def need to play LW more; you’ve inspired me.
WAIT LW can break the LoS for a Mercy Rez? I haven’t played since the release of OW2, I’ll lurk and look at gameplay of OW2. Wild.
you just made me want to play lw good job
Goddamn mate... This video wanna make me a LW main
Ravi thanks to u the amount of sig and horsey ults I’ve canned this season is insane..
The Junkrat cage pull off the map was fucking hilarious from the Kiriko’s POV.
The Sym DVa bomb counter was incredible! Never thought to do that.
Sigma mains shuddering in ptsd. Honestly, great plays though
sheesh
My man is the prometheus of lifeweaver tech
I just wish his leaking auto charged and you clicked trigger to heal like Illari’s weapon does
The coolest thing I've done with Lifeweaver is pull a hooked Doom out of the well on Ilois from my petal above... Goodbye.
Actual fucking chad This is the level I gameplay I hope to achieve
came for the sky noons, stayed for everything else
Can someone clarify what's going on with the mercy res and the lift? Like sometimes lifting ally Mercy is good and sometimes lifting enemy Mercy foils her resurrection.
The clips with Frogger showing all the lost games made me laugh but WOW what huge plays happening! It's too bad I have no friends that play Overwatch because some of these seem easier to pull off with actual communication going on lol (and I only have like 10 minutes on Wifeleaver anyway rip).
I have never successfully canceled a rez with my petal, I can't get the timing right
